Spacious and clean room, even had a crib for my baby, staff is friendly and host is very accommodating.

Perhaps the advertisement should only mention the stairs to be climbed. This can be a problem if it's someone who can't climb stairs.
Our hostess struggled to find parking for a caravan because there is no room for such a large caravan. Appreciated it. The restaurant Die Plattelander is diagonally above our accommodation. Worth a visit in itself! Delicious farm food!
What a beautiful evening. The room was perfect, everything you need ready and available. The best thing was that the local restaurants were within walking distance, so what a blessing! Oh yes, there were stairs, but the view was spectacular! Worth the effort. Thank you so much, Jeanette!

Stayed as a family en route to Cape Town from Durban. The host communicated as soon as the booking was confirmed. She made us aware of parking and the steps leading up to the room. On arrival, she was warm and friendly.
Yes, everything was fine and it is ideal to sleep over here. I am also over 60, but the stairs were not difficult to climb. It will be difficult for persons who may not get along so well. The two places to eat in town are within walking distance. Cars are safe behind an entrance gate. I appreciated the table on which one can put one's bags.

We were looking for a nice place to sleep for a quick overnight stop with safe parking for our vehicle full of luggage and close to a nice place to eat where we could have dinner after our arrival. Karoo-Koppie Guesthouse met all our expectations and we ate very nice country food at the Plattelander (within walking distance — across the street) and we slept well in the spacious room. Thank you very much - we'll just pop in here again soon.
We stayed here a second time within a week on the way back from the Whale Trail and once again we were not disappointed! We enjoyed every moment at the guest house and slept wonderfully warm.
Our stay was enjoyable. This is for sure a place I will go back to if I travel in that direction again. Lots of attention to detail. Electric blankets on the beds for the cold Karoo nights.
Might as well add dish towels if cups or something needs to be washed.

Difficult path and stairs to the top. Older persons may struggle.
Floors and carpets were dirty. Bathroom door was brown around handle. Linen did not feel clean and crisp with old brown pillows inside pillowcases with no decent pillow and bed covers on mattresses and pillows. Shower had no drain strainer and was full of black spots. If the owner changes things it could be a very nice place to stay. Garden is beautiful and the place has so much to offer actually.

Comfortable enough and we had a good night's rest, quite important after on a previous occasion and other accommodation in Colesberg I had a rather rough life with lorries passing by all night.
Plekkie is conveniently located in Colesberg. Secure parking. Everything inside the unit that is needed for the overnight stay. Will stay there again if needed.

Jeanette received us warmly and check-in was very easy. I have a 4 m trailer, and Jeanette offered 2 options for safe storage and left reception herself and accompanied me to the residence where the trailer was safely stored. The room and facilities are adequate and the view from the stoepie is breathtaking, and the historic church is right in front of you with the beautiful bells every hour (mind you not disturbing but I'm a bit on the deaf side when I sleep). All facilities (eating places etc.) are literally around the corner and really within walking distance. Just settle in overnight, the view doesn't come for nothing, with a few safe and comfortable stairs up to your spot at the top.

When making the booking, I specifically requested two single or 3/4 beds, as it was for myself and my 24-year-old son. We ended up with a king-size bed for the two of us!
Jeanette is an excellent hostess and she even arranged for their local butcher to keep our meat cold until we drove the next day. We slept very comfortably and the room was very comfortably furnished with everything we needed for an overnight stay. The entrance to the guest house is a bit narrow and we had to watch for oncoming traffic, but there was plenty of safe parking. Will spend the night here again anytime, because our three Toypom puppies could stay with us.

Rooms 1, 2 and 3 are a little hard to get to, especially if you have a husband who has had a knee replacement. Stairs made of bricks and not even.
Room was clean, tidy and sufficient for our needs. The service was professional as expected. Requested secure parking and got it. The church bell opposite the guest house was highly disturbing. It rang every half hour and on the hour for 24 hours. The traffic on the main street below your unit was also troublesome. The two single beds are worn out and need to be replaced. Unfortunately, we will have to find a quieter place for the future.

The bed was very comfortable, the shower was wonderfully spacious and we appreciated the cleanliness. Our little visit on the stoep was delicious while we enjoyed the view. We enjoyed stretching our legs and walking the few steps to the restaurant.
Take an interest in their guests, call you to find out how far along you are, and make sure everything is OK when you get there.
Not recommended for people with bad knees or walking disability as the climb up to the units is steep.

Karoo-Koppie is neat and clean and close to the N1. However, we are traveling with our two small children and used the accommodation as a stopover on the way back to Jhb. Our particular room was not ideal for small children and a good night's rest. The room was open plan which means that when the parents get up early to get ready to drive again, we disturb the children. There is also a lot of light in the room, plugs and alarms and the TV's standby light creates a lot of light which is very disturbing if you are not familiar with your surroundings.
Was nice and quiet and with the rain it was ideal.
Sincerely appreciate it. We will stay again with you and Karoo-Koppie Guesthouse on our way to Cape Town.

The hostess contacted us in advance and provided enough information. The accommodation offers a beautiful view of the town and we were able to end the evening with a peaceful braai. The apartment was more than one would expect and ensured that we could comfortably and wonderfully spend the night on our way to Cape Town.
First stop on our honeymoon. Jeanette put in so much effort and it was very romantic and really appreciated. Very warm sleep and a beautiful view of the town and the most beautiful church.

The place is well located and clean. Still, it does need attention. The one bed creaks. The bath plug does not work at all. And the rusks are inedible, which of course is a great frustration to start a day wrong. And the little milk container with a straw was a struggle. The view is very nice. And the church bell ringing nostalgically. For overnight stays it was acceptable.

I would like to send you photos as proof of broken furniture, tube lights without tube light, dirty stained doilies over biscuits and bitter old bedding.
We were very well received at Jane Beaute after a long day on the road. Walking distance from popular Plattelander Restaurant. Place was clean and tidy. My recommendation for master bedroom with double bed is: 1. that the linen be replaced with something like the other room (white gives a clean feeling) 2. Air conditioner would be an asset - the fans didn't help much. Living room: 1. The television is also giving in, and we watched TV with difficulty. 2. Lounge very dark - would also recommend air conditioner. Furthermore, we had a very nice overnight stay with coffee, biscuits and fresh milk before we left the next morning.
The fact that the air conditioning was turned on in the other room which we did not have access to was a problem. Other than that, it was sufficient.

Didn't really think it was worth the money at all. Also did not feel very comfortable with all the personal photos of children and grandchildren on the walls. This may just be my personal experience, but don't feel like I would recommend it to anyone else. Sorry.
Even though the little place was clean and the reception was friendly the accommodation was unpleasant. Too many personal items in the house - food in the fridge and freezer and lots of medication in the fridge. Most of the kitchen cupboards were locked - we expected a self-catering unit but we couldn't even fry an egg for breakfast. We definitely don't recommend it.
Nice spacious house for 4 people. Everything we needed was there. It was 40 degrees in Colesberg when we arrived, but the house was nice and cool and the fans helped too. House and bedding were clean and tidy. However, would recommend that the one single bed mattress might be replaced.
