The road to the accommodation is not suitable for low vehicles. It is a sand road with a number of potholes that turns to mud when it rains so can be tricky even in an EcoSport. The property is beautiful, well maintained and the hosts are pleasant and helpful and available immediately. They have all the amenities to make things comfortable. Thank you for a memorable experience.

Overall it was a great stay. Just a few suggestions though not a complaint. This is to improve the overall facilities. The standard double beds, if there could be an option of separating a double bed into a twin in all the rooms. Yes, each and every chalet has got one room with a double and one with twin. Wish both rooms could have the option of separation. If the the trees in front of the rooms could be trimmed in a way that the view of the lake is visible from the rooms. Think about adding a pool in the future. Otherwise it was great. Its' a great place to get away as friends and book both chalets as you get to have the place all to yourself.
Clean and tidy. Would have liked to have seen wood and fire lighter for braai, because it is quite a distance to get, especially if you check in late. Beds a bit hard (mattresses) for sleeping.
We were well received by Arnie and we were shown everything how it works. Everything was neat and clean and everything looks like in the photos, very stylish and enough space. The bathrooms were very clean and had plenty of nice hot water. The enclosed porch and braai were the nicest. If you want to get away from the city this is definitely the place.

Kata Charis Lakeside Lodge offers comfortable and clean accommodation in a beautiful setting overlooking a pond. It is ideal for rest and relaxation in the silence of nature. However, the last section of dirt road was in poor condition and the rain made it worse.
Accommodation is clean and neat. An awesome location. Would recommend to anyone traveling up to 6pax.

We had a very nice stay. Everything we needed was provided. The view was very beautiful and very peaceful. The dirt road to the chalet was a bit challenging and it is not suitable for a low height vehicle. Our stay was very pleasant and we can recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the Lowveld.

We had a lovely stay in the lovely spacious and clean house and really appreciated the silence and tranquility. The accommodation is serviced every morning. All we can recommend is that possibly in the future air conditioning is also installed in the bedrooms, as the heat and humidity sometimes become unbearable. Basic barbecue equipment will also come in handy.
Arno was very friendly, however, the isolation of the cottage was scary for me.
The accommodation is ideal for a peaceful and quiet getaway. It's a beautiful setting with lots to do in the surrounding area. Just a pity that the trees on the house's deck obstruct the view to the pond.

When you walk into the house you look out over the dining table onto the bushveld and water! The whole house is spacious, new, fresh and well equipped. 700 km from my house, I'm coming back again! Patio and braai area is perfect!

The unit was very neatly laid out and well equipped. They didn't have a corkscrew in the kitchen, but luckily I don't leave home without one. On arrival it was somewhat difficult to get hold of the owners to check in. The power was off upon check-in which was not the lodge's fault, but it would be nice if the unit was better equipped for such an unforeseen event.

If you are looking for affordable, comfortable self-catering accommodation that is private and serene, this is the place to go. Tasteful, functional accommodation with two huge showers and a bath, aircon, clean linen and daily servicing. The best feature is the huge comfortable patio/braai area and the very friendly owners who made sure we were comfortable and lacked nothing - yet keeping our privacy in mind. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay Arnie! The location is close to town (10 mins) with another 10 mins to the Phabeni Gate of the Kruger Park, or just stay home and enjoy the serenity. The place is secured by electric fencing and an alarm which gives you extra peace of mind.
This is a very central place to most popular tourist attractions. Firstly, we really enjoyed our stay at this lodge. It is my sincere wish that my points below be taken into consideration to enhance one's stay. Only 3 things I feel would make the stay even better. 1. Trees in front of the chalets should be trimmed, to give a view of the lake. Will make a huge difference. 2. There isn't a swimming pool. With the heat most of the time you definitely need one. Other establishments don't allow non residents to use their facility. 3. The road getting to the chalet needs attention, very uneven and difficult to drive through with low suspension cars.

It was wonderful to sit on the large porch, look for the manatee in the pond and breathe in the sweet, clean air. The price for such a luxury unit was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend!

Kata Charis creates a peaceful atmosphere. It's not too far away from the main road and located so that you can easily see other tourist destinations.
Very peaceful, lovely views. Needed longer braai tongs, oven gloves and blankets. Staff are friendly, security is good and chalet is spacious and clean. The bathrooms are lovely with plenty hot water for the whole family.
Kata Charis is always clean, and the fittings and bedding are of good quality. The peaceful setting and quietness gives a special charm to the place.
The luxury self catering unit is wonderfully modern and spacious with all the modern amenities that you can hope for (DStv, air-con, fully equipped kitchen) tucked away in natural forests as far as the eye can see. Easy access to the main road and plenty of attractions (adventure sports, Kruger Park, Panorama Route, etc). We really enjoyed our meals out on the large covered veranda with its beautiful views. The owners are very warm, professional and incredibly helpful. We would certainly recommend it to anyone. What a find!!
Well equipped apartment with beautiful and clean linen and towels. The view is very beautiful and the atmosphere very peaceful, private and homely thanks to the fact that there are only two residential units. Security is good and you feel safe all the time. Friendly managers and fast cleaners. Very central to visit all the attractions in the area. Good value for money. Will definitely visit there again.
