Very nice place, very comfortable and bigger than we expected, with all the necessities you need and close enough to pop to town to pick anything up. It was lovely listening to all the birds in the morning. The pool was a welcomed reprieve from the heat, as well as the air conditioner. The place could have been a little bit cleaner here and there; there were a couple of spiders inside.

Klein Afrika has been my 'go-to' accommodation in Oudtshoorn for the past 3 years. It's a beautiful location with beautiful cottages and gardens and I love staying there. The service and friendliness are also top notch.

The stay was comfortable. Rooms had A/C, which was appreciated given how hot it is in December. We enjoyed the braai area and swimming pool. There was also a gas stove, which was appreciated during load shedding.

We arrived in three groups and one group was not registered to open the gate, which made it difficult for them to leave. The pool and walks around the well-maintained garden were fabulous. The cottages are neat and clean, with comfortable beds and are well equipped. They are centrally located. The communication about the gate number and keys was on time. I had a great stay for a second time.
We stayed over for one night and enjoyed the quiet and pleasant environment. The cottage was clean and welcoming. There is a great indoor fireplace and outdoor pit, which my teenager enjoyed making the fire. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped. We will definitely recommend this beautiful place to anyone needing a break.

Our family of 6 really enjoyed our short visit to Klein Afrika Wegbreek. We stayed in the Zambesi cottage and explored the surrounding area from there. Clean, comfortable, safe and a picturesque setting make it worth it.

The environment is quiet and peaceful. The house is beautiful, clean and tidy and the fireplace created a cozy, cozy atmosphere. We could have stayed there longer and will definitely stop there again.
Really a beautiful place.
We had a great time, the house is well stocked except for knives that could be 'upgraded' a bit. On arrival we struggled to get access, didn't have code for gate nor did we know which unit we should stay in. After many attempts, Benny got hold of the person who passed on the information. Other than that it was delicious. It would be good to have wifi in the units as everyone uses it these days, although TV is not needed at all.
The cleanest place to stay that we have ever visited. Accommodation is on the farm. We woke up to a tractor in the fields. The bedding was pure white clean, bathroom clean, the eating utensils were spotless. I always have a fear of self-catering units, but this one really surprised me. Went home in Serengeti and there was an aircon in both the main room and living room. Playground with swimming pool within walking distance from cottage. The dirt road is a comfortable ride.
Almost struggled at the gate (my fault) but between Gesie, Lekkeslaap and Abram we soon managed. Klein Afrika Wegbreek already recommended to a few people.

We found from the 2nd day the water had a smell. The master bedroom's one window only has a lace curtain. Curtain can be hung. Overall we had a nice stay.

We really enjoyed the visit at Klein Afrika Wegbreek and will definitely return. The peaceful farm life was good for the soul. The cottage is well equipped with everything you will need. Our one-year-old ran all over the yard.
The farm was wonderfully peaceful. Just what we city jays needed. We were in Oudtshoorn for the SA Cycling Championships and we couldn't wait to go to the cycling farm every day, cool off in the super clean swimming pool and then have a lovely time on the veranda with the view of the beautiful mountains. Would love to go there again for cycling or a break. The hostess, Gesie, was always there, just a WhatsApp or a phone call away when we needed help. Access was easy and the cottage was immaculately clean. At no point did we feel unsafe.
An aircon in every room would have made stay more bearable, nights very hot even if one has ceiling fans. With the loadshedding there were also times at night with no fan. But we understand this 100%, it's just the loadshedding that frustrates us all. The pool was definitely a must with the heat - was lovely to swim in after the day's stuff.

We had such a good time that it was almost sad to drive back to the Cape on Sunday. Serengeti where we stayed was well furnished, beds slept well and bedding and blankets were more than enough to keep us warm on the 4 degree Karoo winter night. All attractions are easily accessible. We will definitely stay here again when we come to Oudtshoorn.
It's nice and quiet on the farm, not far from the town. The cottages are beautiful and comfortable with everything we needed. It's nice and clean with enough warm bedding and extra blankets. For the colder evenings, the indoor fireplaces are lovely and large. Would not think twice to book here again.

Wow, 5 star experience. We were so pleasantly surprised upon our arrival at Klein Afrika Wegbreek. We stayed in Serengeti and our hearts were stolen from the first step. The silence was rest for my soul. Although it was out of town, it was still close enough to do other activities. Everything was there that we needed. Very grateful for the fact that there is no television. That's a big plus. It was the most enjoyable to open the double door in the morning, lie in bed and watch and listen to the birds chirping. I will definitely stay there again. Everything was clean and tidy.

As a family with 3 children, I was worried that the kids might get bored, but we all thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The house was well equipped with everything we needed, was also nice and clean. I was really impressed with the condition of the accommodation. The first one was loadshedding, but we weren't bothered at all because we had too much fun sitting around the fire - the starry night is breathtakingly beautiful! We also had fun frolicking in the pool throughout the day with lots of space for the young crowd to walk and play too. We will definitely be back again!

Wow, what a great experience. This house is absolutely beautiful with many beautiful antiques and details that make it just nice to be there. The ghost story on the wall is also very cute. The unit was very nice clean and very practically laid out with everything one might need. They even came to clean for us after the first night which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. We had a great time and never once felt unsafe. The service was very friendly and we were informed ahead of time about how to get in and were registered on the gate system even before our arrival. There was no need to book in or complete any admin, we could go straight to our cottage and relax. What a great and convenient experience, more places should do this. The view is breathtaking and good for the soul. Klein Afrika Wegbreek was the highlight of our holiday. Many, many thanks for everything. Truly just 20 out of 10 for you.
Large fire places, and a nice swimming pool for the warm Oudshoorn heat. Lots of nature around the place of residence. The house was tidy and had everything we needed.

This was our second time staying at Klein Afrika Wegbreek. The first time we were in Kammanassie, this time in Serengeti. The house was just enough for our needs. We could sleep well and visit. The surroundings were lovely and so peaceful. We relaxed and left there rested. Would love to return there again.

Lovely place to have a quiet barbecue with the family between beautiful mountains and a beautiful natural scene. My suggestion would be to just replace the toilet at Zambesi, which wastes water terribly due to poor flushing, as well as paying attention to the shower's spray ability, which as it is currently, seems to be blocked. This place was really awesome. The kids loved running around without any boundaries. The view is beautiful. Such a stunning place cut off from the world. It was lovely to just be able to relax away from the city life.

There is an alarm system in place, and secure gate and fencing. A little secluded, a little out of town. The only downside is the dirt road to get there - cost us a car window.
We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was extremely neat and there is everything you need. Only one negative point, there are incredibly many flies. Owner can feel free to invest in an insect light or more Doom etc. left in the cottages.
Only one thing - no extra toilet paper available. Only one that was on the roll, that wasn't even full. Thankfully we had one in the car. I'm sure future guests would appreciate sufficient toilet paper.
It was lovely to visit the hearth as a family. Very conveniently located to explore Oudshoorn, far enough out of town to be close to nature and close enough to go to the shops quickly.

Everything about the place is of good quality, and I particularly liked all the antiques and memorabilia - and everything works! The only problem is caused by people like me, who don't read properly, I wasn't expecting there to be no heating for the cottage and no towels, but that was my mistake.

We had a lovely overnight stop at Klein Afrika. We were looking forward to a cosy evening in front of the fireplace. We did take our own towels as recommended but missed not having hand soap at the hand basin. The beds are very comfortable. We will definitely go back there.

There is some of that old furniture that is beautiful. The whole atmosphere made me want to go back to the visits on the farm.

There is no one to receive you upon arrival. I don't like dirt roads with low vehicles and you drive almost 5 km on a dirt road to get to your destination. Other than that, it's peaceful and we like the farm feeling you get when you're there.

I would just like to make a suggestion regarding access to wood. Would it be possible to provide wood for an extra fee or a number of someone in the area who can bring for a fee? We had to unload luggage and drive back to town in the rain to collect wood. We knew beforehand that it wasn't going to be available. I only think of people who might arrive later (or even after dark) and then can't even make a fire. Otherwise 100 percent.
Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay and visit at Kammanassie house. The layout is practical and creates the feeling of total isolation in the African bush, the house is clean and well equipped.
It was pleasant and peaceful. Especially since there was no TV, so happy. Teach people to communicate and children to focus with games. Only problem is that there is no sign indicating where to turn from the main road.

Was just what we needed. Peaceful.
The house is a bit out of town and it's about 5 km of dirt road to get there, so be prepared for this. However, when you are there, it is peaceful and cozy. There is a playground and a swimming pool for the children. Although there are other houses around, it still feels like you are staying on your own smallholding with a view of a small olive grove on your front porch. The Karoostof is quite something to be reckoned with and children and cars get very dirty quickly and often.
Safe and very neat. If you have a bakkie or a 4x4, the 6 km gravel road isn't an issue. Unfortunately I have a normal car and the driving for 4 days was a problem.

The pool was a winner.
Klein Afrika Wegbreek is for ordinary people who don't turn their noses up at everything. It's basic, clean, complete, comfortable, comfortable, close to all Oudsthoorn's places to visit and quiet. I would recommend that there should be some form of access control. City dwellers are not used to sleeping without gates and wires around them. The houses are also placed in such a way that no one intrudes on your privacy. I would recommend Little Africa Getaway.

Klein Afrika was a surprise. After a long hot day on the road we were on a gravel road. At first I was a bit hesitant, but we were pleasantly surprised with the cool patio and braai area! The beds were great, but we would've liked a top sheet. The house was well-equipped.
Very nice stay. The owners may need to consider making bath towels available even if at a cost. For us it was not a problem but some tourists might be put off by it.

Fairytale in the heart of the Klein Karoo. The location is perfect and the silence special. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place for you. It's one of the most affordable places in the Oudtshoorn area and a "hidden jewel". Children will enjoy the pool and a fire under the stars or indoors (in winter) is just what the soul needs.
The accommodation was fantastic - we had a great time and relaxed around a fire after a day full of excitement and the adventure tour through the Kango Caves. Neat, fully equipped accommodation - nice swimming and relaxing and at 05:20 on Sunday morning watching the dawn from the veranda with a delicious cup of coffee.

We stayed in Serengeti. Apart from the "mix up" with the key, the stay was very pleasant. It's very quiet and peaceful and exactly halfway between the Kango Caves and the town which suited us well. Lovely soft and clean linen. All that we felt needed a little attention was the clawfoot tub which was a little loose and the hand shower wouldn't work. Also, a cloth in the kitchen and in the bathroom for cleaning would have been nice. The house was also well equipped and we had a nice stay there.

Just the way we like it. The idea was just to have a base in Oudtshoorn, but it was so pleasant would like to come for a longer time. This is not a simple holiday accommodation. It's a spacious house, fully equipped and very cutely decorated. There is a huge fireplace/barbecue and large fridge, everything but a TV, which I was actually happy about. There is no interaction with the people and that's exactly how we like it, being left alone. Thank you very much, will definitely come again.
Nice quiet, peaceful, nice outdoor life, the 4 km dirt road is however bad for a passenger vehicle and rather a bakkie as a recommendation. Nice natural life.

We enjoyed the cozy and peaceful atmosphere. Cottage is well furnished. However, bringing our own towels was a problem as we were on our way back home and then had to purchase them as they were not provided. At least we were forewarned when the booking was confirmed. It was wonderful for the children to have fun outside after hours on the road. There was no one to meet us. However, the key was under the front door mat, as discussed. We couldn't find a cottage with a bath, but were offered a baby bath as our baby is 3 months old, but then unfortunately neglected to leave it there, and were told they couldn't help us anymore because they are far from the overnight units. It was very cold. The fireplace warmed the cottage wonderfully, but there was only a duvet, no sheets and one blanket on the double beds, no blankets for children's beds and only 1 spare blanket in the cupboard. It is not too far out of town if you need to go shopping, as nothing is provided complimentary (sugar, milk tea etc). It is also expected to clean the kitchen before you vacate, which we usually do if time permits after you have to feed a whole family breakfast and still pack everything and be out before 10:00.
Place is very nice and quiet.
Klein Afrika Wegbreek has a very favorable location in relation to attractions in and around Oudtshoorn. The house is small and cosy, well equipped and gives you the real Karoo atmosphere you want to experience if you want to escape from the busy city.
If you like the quietness of the farm, this is just the place for you, and very reasonable price.
Out stay at this lovely destination was too short and we would love to go again to explore the area and make better use of the facilities.
We really enjoyed the time at Klein Afrika Wegbreek. It will for sure be our 1st choice for any accommodation in Oudtshoorn. Children enjoyed the farm feel. Heard lions 2 times from the surrounding Game Farms (Buffelsfontein if I had to guess). The house was perfect for what we needed and enjoyed not having a TV, WiFi and stuff like that.

A little further out of town than I expected, but worth it.
We enjoyed our stay at Klein Afrika. The house was clean and well equipped. For us the mattress was not very comfortably. It was close to the Game Reserve at Buffelsdrift where we booked several activities. Would recommend this place.
We were really looking forward to our time at Klein Afrika. Especially because it is on a "farm" outside town without TV. However, we were disappointed with our first entry. There was dust and cobwebs everywhere, even on the kitchen cabinets behind the toaster. Food crumbs were under the furniture and next to the fridge. Cockroaches were everywhere, we had to drive to town to buy Doom to spray everything. The outside bin was full on arrival and was never emptied in the 3 days we were there. A bath mat in the bathroom would have done, we went and bought one so my children wouldn't have to slip on the tiles. The bedding and curtains need a serious upgrade. Unfortunately, I would not be able to recommend it to anyone. It's a pity, because it's so wonderful to look at the stars in the silence.
Very pleasant place to stay very clean, would just like to see air conditioning in rooms in the future.

We really enjoyed our time at Klein Afrika Wegbreek and lost our hearts in the beautiful town of Oudtshoorn. Thank you for the beautiful facilities and best equipped kitchen I have come across in a long time.
The place we stayed in was very pleasant though two things we noticed, firstly the signage wasn't the best as half way we thought we were lost and secondly air-con would've been good. Luckily there was a pool but other than that it was really a nice stay, quiet and peaceful!
This house/chalet is on a small holding, where only 4 of them were built. The others are placed nice and far from each other for extra privacy. A very comfortable house, with air conditioner, two bedrooms and a shower, exceeded our expectations. There is also a fenced swimming pool that can be used. The house has electricity and each bedroom has a ceiling fan which helps with the warm nights. The outdoor patio overlooks Schoemanshoek and other farms, and we were able to relax wonderfully while watching the guinea fowl. The caretaker (not owner) was friendly and answered all our questions. A very comfortable and tasteful place that I would recommend anytime.

Beautiful well-equipped cottage on a farm. Must be willing to drive dirt road. Would appreciate towels for 1 night users. Directions and distance to home were poor. Use signage from the main road instead.
We had a very nice stay. Everything one needs. Directions to the place are a bit vague. It would help if beacons were also included.
The house we stayed in was nice and big, and had everything you would need for a nice stay. We only used it for an overnight stop and mostly ate in town, but the unit really has everything, even plastic cups for the toddlers. I can easily see how one could use the house to stay longer in Oudtshoorn and explore the surroundings from there. The town is really close if you might have forgotten something.
Very affordable accommodation for the number of people who may spend the night there. It is clean, tidy and the perfect break from the city. More than enough facilities to ensure comfort. Well done Little Africa!
It was a truly unpleasant experience. It took almost an hour to get hold of the owner to tell us where she left the keys for us while we had to sit in the car with two small children hoping someone would show up. They also tried on their part. There was no toilet paper or hand washing soap available at the location. The air conditioning did not work at all. The directions to the place are also so unclear we had to rely on other places that were located nearby for directions to find the place. The dirt road there is not in such a wonderful condition either. Lots of corrugated iron road. The signs that should indicate the turn off are so hidden that we almost drove past them if they weren't as explained earlier. We ended up getting hold of the owner where she said she sent me an email with the location where she kept the keys but to this day I have no such email received from her.
The cottages are wonderfully designed and decorated. The indoor fireplaces, which are big enough for a barbecue, were a brilliant idea. Excellent price. The cottages are very clean. I would just suggest that some salt and sugar are available - you tend to forget such basic things at home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Klein Afrika. It's a lovely little house with a nice porch to sit on and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains. It's located between farms on the way to the Kango Caves, but not too far out of town. Was ideal for our family of 6.
Our stay was very nice and we regretted not booking longer. Als was very neat. We will definitely use Klein Afrika again in the future.
Directions to Klein Afrika Wegbreek on the R328 (Cango caves road) is inadequate.

Klein Afrika Wegbreek is ideal for people who area in need of a getaway from the noisy city. About 20 km from town it feels as if you area far away from everyone and everything. The little cottage was very neat and clean and modern. Better than the pictures. The atmosphere and the grounds area bitg and lots of hiking trails and even an outside braai. No TV didn't bother us because we enjoyed the peaceful farm nights by the fireplace and the birds in the morning it gave the accommodation so much character. Even the little hike on the gravel road, we met friendly people who live in the little farm house and the views of the farms and Swartberge were breathtaking. I recommend this to anyone! Swimming pool and play yard also available for kids. Thanks for you beautiful place which made my first full visit to Oudtshoor so special.
Ons should just turn the geyser on beforehand, as the water was cold when we wanted to shower!

A little Africa destination in the heart of the Klein Karoo, surrounded by nature and quiet. The house is well equipped and outside is a nice braai and pool for the warm Karoo weather. Note: take your own coffee, tea, sugar and milk, as well as soap. Unfortunately these items are not included.
