Klein Welmoed Guest House is situated in Stellenbosch and a mere 30 km from Cape Town International Airport. The guest house is in the perfect location for a wedding, offering the beauty of the country, out of sight of the big city but still providing charming convenience and facilities the estate has to offer. Corporate conferences are also well catered for in this luxurious setting.

Klein Welmoed offers 12 luxurious double bedrooms and bathrooms, including the four self-catering 2 bedroom cottages, and 4 double rooms in the manor house. All units are equipped with, percale cotton linen, bathroom amenities, air-conditioning and heated towel rails in bathrooms. There are flat screen TV's with DStv in all the rooms along with Wi-Fi access.

The four, 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms, fully equipped self-catering cottages appeal to guests who prefer a more flexible style of accommodation with kitchens, a barbecue patio, privacy and lots of space for families or couples. Most self-catering cottages have under-floor heating as well as cosy fireplaces for winter breakaways. Shiraz Cottage only has wall heaters but this double cottage is great in summer. All our rates include full breakfast for manor rooms and cottage guests.

During summer, guests can enjoy our sparkling swimming pool set in our large manicured garden. Other activities to be enjoyed on this expansive property are running, walking, cycling, wildlife, birding and picnics. Wine tasting is offered, but by prior arrangement only.

We are situated only 40 kilometres from the hub of Cape Town, the Franschhoek Valley, The Overberg and the Atlantic Ocean while Stellenbosch, Somerset West and their surrounding wine routes and top restaurants are only a few kilometres away. Golfing, day tours, concerts, beaches and much more are easily accessible.

We stayed for three days at this beautiful guesthouse and wine estate. It was just perfect. The room and facilities were spotless and the breakfasts were really very good. The location is so convenient halfway between Stellenbosch and Somerset West and right in the heart of all the wine estates. Our hostess, Karin, made all the difference with her kindness and on-hands approach. We really felt welcome and valued due to her caring nature. We would love to recommend this guesthouse one hundred percent to anyone!

Just a bit out of town this beautiful unit where you can relax. Lovely breakfast and in the evenings you are close enough to eat out or you can use the beautiful facilities in the unit.

The receptionist was professional and friendly and made an effort to prepare a breakfast basket as I had to leave early, before breakfast. The room was stylish and well equipped. We had a wonderful weekend at Welmoed Guest House. A tip for any future guests is to make sure you make restaurant reservations well in advance, as most of the surrounding eateries were fully booked for the entire weekend. The cottage is very well equipped if you decide to opt for an evening in. Staff are very friendly and breakfasts were fresh and delicious. For early risers like ourselves, we would have preferred an earlier breakfast start time (however, the lovely Michelle did arrange a quick continental for us). A lovely spot and worth a return visit.
