Not many places like this - amazing. We were blown away by the position, solitude, vegetation, walks, and rock formations. The road up to the house was not bad at all. There were no height issues or difficult sections. It was suggested to use 2nd gear low range, and it was a pleasure. The cottage lived up to our expectations, adequately equipped and excellent fireplace for braaing and warmth.

If you have a decent 4x4 low traction vehicle and drive the road up and back slowly while taking in the beautiful surroundings, the nearly 950m above sea level Kilpspringer Berghuisie is an unforgettable experience you will never forget.

Klipspringer is truly a place of soul rest, yet the road to the top is a 4x4 that must be reckoned with and not taken for granted. Great for the men who can and know how to test a new 4x4 vehicle's performance. The accommodation was truly a place of rest with an incredible view and fresh air. Although it was incredibly cold, the fireplace could burn all day and night, just bring enough wood. The stairs to sleeping area are something older visitors should keep in mind. Unfortunately I am afraid of stairs so for me it was difficult. Everything was spotless and comfortable, there was nothing short, the dressing gowns in the shower were a very welcome sight. We will definitely go again when the weather is warmer as we like to walk.
A beautiful place that one must visit if you are a nature person and you have a vehicle that will allow it. The road to get there is rough, but the reward at the end makes it worth the effort! Just a shame that it can only accommodate two people, because one will want to share the experience with more!
It is also very peaceful and has plenty of space to go for walks and enjoy nature.

We spent two nights here and it was the most wonderful place. The views were beautiful (when we could see through the mist and clouds) and the house met all our expectations. We'll hopefully be back sometime soon.
Location was as described, everything we needed for a break from the rush of the city.
I didn't read the rules, it's a 4x4 route to the top at the Kliphuis, I don't have one, just regular difflock and it doesn't work. So, read the headline! Let the owner know and as it goes, it's a business and I lose the three days' accommodation money. So, if you're thinking of going to Kliphuis, make sure your vehicle can do it. They must write it in big, red letters! Just wanted a quiet weekend.
I do not think our stay could have turned out more perfect than it was. An amazing cottage set in a beautiful, remote and quiet fynbos landscape. During the day it was incredible to hike the area and at night the cold weather outside made sitting inside around a cosy fire the perfect way to end the day. The 4x4 route in was fine and fun to experience. Highly recommend this idyllic spot.

The secluded location, the beautiful stone cottage and the natural beauty make this getaway a unique experience. It is neat, functional and quiet, away from the everyday noise and the ideal opportunity to completely break away. Can't wait to visit again.

If you need to get away from the busy world with all its things, and are looking for time in nature away from technology, we would definitely recommend the Klipspringer. Road up is probably only made for 4x4 vehicles.

You literally feel on top of the world. The perfect break, hikes, fireside and views for miles around.
Romantic stone cottage under Pilaarkop Peak, high away in the Riviersonderend mountains. Nobody around for miles and miles. What a treat to share this piece of heaven surrounded by incredible fynbos and sandstone in the Cape Overberg. Cottage hosts a huge fireplace and a luxury loft double bed. Happy place.
Incredible place. We will definitely book again. If you like a bit of 4x4 but aren't a pro either, the road is on an adventure on its own that will give you new hope in your vehicle and driving ingenuity. House is very clean and tidy. We will definitely try to book a place in the middle of winter as well.
Was here for a weekend and really enjoyed it. It was quiet and the view was breathtaking. The house offers everything you need and very clean.

If you want to shake off the city's hustle and bustle or if you just need a little rest for your soul, book a weekend at Klipspringer. Beautiful scenery, clear skies and spotless accommodation. It was great for us to entertain no people for one weekend and Marinda went out of her way when we arrived earlier than planned. By the way, trust the recommendation, you need a 4x4 (even a rental car won't get there).

Great break and the 4x4 route to get there, great fun. Be aware that there is no sun or wind shelter outside the cottage, so take your "gazebo" with you for windless days and hobbies/books to keep you busy indoors when the wind gets too much.

It was an exceptional experience.
To become one with your soul and your partner, this is definitely the best place. The fact that there was no electricity forces you to become part of nature and to share it with your partner. My husband and I went home with a new lust for life.
