The Kudu Plains Bush Retreat is an off-the-grid self-catering house that is the ultimate family getaway, only an hour and a half away from Johannesburg and 40 minutes from Pretoria. The lodge is located in the 540-hectare Leeuwkloof Park Private Conservancy, south of Dinokeng Game Reserve and north of Pretoria.

The lodge can accommodate up to 10 guests in 4 bedrooms located in 2 separate wings on either side of the house. Each wing contains a bedroom with 2 single beds and an upstairs loft room. In one wing the loft room contains 4 single beds, and in the other wing, the loft room contains 2 single beds. There are 2 bathrooms, the first with a shower and the second with a bath, shower, as well as an outside shower.

Between the 2 wings is a large central entertainment area that contains a lounge with a cosy fireplace and dining area as well as a pool table. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, gas oven, and fridge. The living area opens to a covered patio with outdoor seating. The patio also has built-in braai facilities and a fire pit, so you can end the day relaxing around a bonfire while listening to the sound of the nightjar and the call of the jackal. On a clear night lion and hyena may also be heard.

The lodge is off-the-grid and does not have mains electricity; lighting is provided by solar power and gas is used for cooking and water heating.

The Kudu Plains Bush Retreat offers plenty to keep the kids entertained including a swimming pool, trampoline, and a jungle gym. They can also bring along their bikes or play a game of cricket on the open lawn areas.

Every side of the house has a view into the bush or overlooks the open plain where sable antelope, eland, giraffe, blesbok, and many more animals and birds can be spotted.

A sunset drive around the conservancy ending with sundowners at one of the reserve's vantage points can be booked as an optional extra.
