When money and profit become the goal of your business, many things go wrong. On principle, I will never consider La Rochelle again, even if it is the only place in Wellington.
The room is bitterly cold and lies South. We were asked not to use the panel heater due to load shedding. The air conditioning could not be used either. Apparently the fireplace doesn't work either. However, light was always available and we were able to use the boiler thanks to a backup system. The warm sheet was an asset.
Ina is a fantastic hostess who in the background makes your time at La Rochelle just that much more comfortable. If you came back late she drew the curtains for you and turned on the lights. She is incredibly friendly. Will definitely stay there again.

La Rochelle exceeded all our expectations! The unit was beautifully furnished with many thoughtful additions that made our life so much easier (such as hangers and even a special washcloth for makeup). We were in town for a wedding and had a busy weekend. After a long evening of wedding venue-arranging, there was nothing better than a cup of filter coffee on the veranda with a peaceful view of the beautiful surroundings. The owners were incredibly accommodating to us who were constantly moving in and out between the guest house and the wedding venue. We felt safe at all times and it was fantastic to have a parking space right in front of our unit. Ina was particularly friendly and always responded quickly to inquiries or requests. She immediately made us feel welcome and at ease. I would recommend La Rochelle to anyone. Thank you so much for making our weekend unforgettable, Ina. We hope to book with you again soon!
The accommodation was very clean and the cottage is very spacious. Ina is a wonderful host and ensured that we had everything we needed.
We were at course just around the corner so were grateful for the lovely electric blanket on our bed amidst the snow capped mountains and winter weather. Very neat and clean and safe parking for your car.

I booked last minute, and luckily got the Lavender unit. If you see the front of the guesthouse, you will be shocked (in a good way) when you drive by the house the big yard suddenly appears from behind the house. Large garden and trees kept clean and tidy. You also have a beautiful view, which I assume is part of an adjacent farm. Your car is also safe behind an electric gate. There is a nice braai and a small swimming pool. We also saw many birds and even a squirrel in the big tree next to our unit. Sharka, the watchdog, is very friendly and came and see me now and then. Overall, very impressed with La Rochelle. The owners are very friendly and immediately make you feel like family members. Will return for sure.
We were upgraded to a bigger room and the host tumble dried our jackets after we got drenched in rain. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you very much for the hospitality.

We had an unusual request regarding transportation and the hostess went out of her way to accommodate us. There is so much to see and do in Wellington and the hostess also goes out of her way to provide information and help. We want to go back again. We even received freshly baked biscuits! The area of the guest house is very central, we felt very safe, left our vehicle there and went on a tour. Please support this guest house, we were really happy, payments and everything was easy, very good communication also before the time and during our stay. Congratulations to all involved.

We were in Wellington for a wedding an basically needed a place to sleep for the night. La Rochelle was perfect for this purpose. Everything that we needed was there, including an air con in the the room which is very important in Wellington's boiling heat. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely recommend the B&B and return again.
At arrival we were given a warm welcome and all the necessary information. The house is picture perfect and makes one feel at home. The room was neat and clean and has everything one could need for a comfortable stay. The hostess went to some extra effort to make a meeting with my colleagues possible. La Rochelle is well located, close to popular restaurant and town centre. Beautiful view from the large veranda and it feels like you are on a farm. The hostess did everything to make our stay pleasant. However, the TV in the room was not to our liking and during the rugby a bit of an awkward situation arose.
The room and linen wat beautiful, the electric blanket worked well and the reception was warm and hospitable. We sat on the stoep by a gas heater under blankets and listened to the night sounds of the farm. We will stay there again and recommend La Rochelle without hesitation.
We arrived in the rain and they met us with an umbrella. Heater in the room as well as the electric blanket had already been switched on. Exceptionally neat with an extra rusk and fresh milk for the coffee. Quality hospitality and we were well informed regarding Wellington and surrounds.
The entire atmosphere of the guesthouse and its people made me feel at home even though I was far away from my own house. The warm welcome and service of the hostess will definitely make me visit this guesthouse again if ever I'm in Wellington for my studies again.

Our reception by the owners was great, the room was very comfortable except for the bed. We suspect the bed's base gave in earlier and has not yet been repaired. Afterwards my wife and I slept with our heads at the foot end and the next morning I saw that a "5th leg" had indeed been set up in the middle of the bed. We would love to stay at this beautiful place again, but will make sure of the bed first.
