This is a piece of heaven! Every kilometer on the way to the farm was just more beautiful! We highly recommend Langfontein Farm Cottages. We had a wonderful rest, surrounded by the big mountains and fairy-tale beautiful nature and plenty of goats on the farm. And to make our arrival even better, we were welcomed by the friendly Johanna, our host. She is a gem! We had such a nice rest after the long drive at Dot's Cottage's peaceful atmosphere. Even more beautiful than the photos, we find delicious fresh flowers in every room that make us feel even more at home! Lovely clean and tidy! Next time we will definitely stay longer. A thousand thanks to Marliza for the great and friendly communication. You went out of your way to ensure we were safe and everything was in order before we left, during our ride and our arrival!
We spent an incredibly wonderful time at Langfontein. The environment, the accommodation, and everything was just indescribably nice. We will definitely go there again and again.

Arriving at Langfontein Farm Cottages felt like coming home to a beloved family farm! We enjoyed making ourselves comfortable in every corner of the house and made memories that will last a lifetime. We would encourage the owners to pay attention to maintenance in and around the house, especially regarding damp/water damage, and to train their housekeeping staff (who were so friendly and welcoming) to manage the property with a more discerning and critical eye.
As well as being a beautiful old cottage, the road to it is incredibly beautiful through the Camdeboo mountains. I will go again for sure.

Marliza and Johanna exceeded our expectations. We were spoiled with freshly baked bread, real butter, fresh herbs from the garden and wood for the fireplace. The cottage was very comfortably furnished and we didn't need anything else. I would truly recommend Langfontein and Dot's cottage.

Off the beaten path, the trip was an anointing of the spirit. The most beautiful scenery, at every turn we were waiting for even more eye candy. On our arrival, everything was perfect, the buildings that were once tired and run down, were refreshed and beautified. The incredible attention to detail, without making it look and feel extravagant. With the load shedding we lay down on the grass and looked at the stars. Crystal clear without any air pollution. After our nice barbecue, we set the table and had the most amazing meal in candlelight. In the room is a king-size bed with soft duvets and pillows. A heavenly night's rest. Dots Cottge will see us again for sure. Well done!

Marliza is a wonderful hostess. We stayed 2 nights in the 1830 cottage. The cottage is wonderfully cool, especially in the heat of the day! This year the Karoo was green with grass after a good rainy season. The streams everywhere were a delight, especially the one right next to our little house. We have mr. really enjoyed pou's daily visit at braai time, and miss him quite a bit now that we are home again! And yes, the home-baked bun, fresh from the oven, was a winner. Thank you very much Marliza - and also for my daughter's camera which you discovered afterwards and couriered to us.
We were well rewarded having found Langfontein. It is a peaceful place for a few days R&R on the drive from KZN to the Cape. We hope to return to the Camdeboo Conservancy.

An absolute paradise in the silence of the Karoo! We stayed in the characterful and beautifully restored 1830 cottage with a view over the farm pond. For the first time in decades, we slept in pitch darkness at night! The river flowing after the rain added to the tranquility and we really relaxed. Marliza, thank you very much, it's very nice when the hostess makes you feel so welcome! Tanya, the neighbor's homemade pasta dish is something special and very convenient.
We had a wonderful stay. A delicious freshly baked bread upon our arrival. The staff were friendly and polite. We also had a delicious barbecue and enjoyed the fresh farm air. We will definitely come again.
Thank you to our hosts. We had a super stay in the spacious 1820 cottage. Clean, neat, rustic farm decor with all our needs fulfilled. Interesting walks on the farm, and a beautiful green garden to relax in. Freshly baked bread and fresh garden herbs were a great touch.
We stayed for 2 nights in Dot's Cottage. We needed the tranquility that the farm offered with beautiful views of the mountains and farm. We had little to no signal/WiFi although this did not bother us. We would recommend this cottage for anyone that would enjoy the simplicity of nature, having a braai, going for hikes and taking a break from TV. The staff of Langfontein were attentive to our needs and baked a delicious bread.

Stayed very nice. The owner was very friendly and helpful and asked us how late she could expect us, after which she apologised for having to do something at that stage. Piece of peace outside Graaff-Reinet. Mountain tortoises, chamois ibex, kudus and brown-eared jackals stroll and eat peacefully together. Stay earthy, luxurious, beautiful. Rounded off with beautiful books, some of them in Afrikaans, T.T. Cloete's ode to his Anna. Birdsong, home-baked bread, fresh herbs in a flowerpot, basil, thyme, rocket, sage, even spinach have a place. Fresh roses from the back garden stand lavishly on the table. The visit was a breeze, delicious. Thank you!
Beautiful location in the Kamdeboo. Extremely characterful and well equipped accommodation. Various activities (although it was so hot when we were there, we could do little!). Go here if you want to get away from everything, even cell phone reception. My only criticism is the road. When asked if we could drive the road with an ordinary vehicle, we were advised that we could. The road, especially the first stretch, is so corrugated iron that my friend, whose car we were driving, shook it apart. Drive the road alone with a larger vehicle.
We had a wonderful stay. The reception made one feel welcome. The accommodation was clean and beautiful, felt like you were sleeping in a magazine photo. The surroundings are also picturesque. Will definitely visit Langfontein again.
After hiking the Eerstefontein trail in the Camdeboo National Park what a pleasure it was to be greeted by the lush green lawns of Langfontein and the smell of freshly baked bread. We stayed in the beautifully restored 1830 Cottage and were completely spoilt by the accommodation. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra day and our only complaint is that two days is far too short to spend here.
What a gem, hidden away just outside Graaff-Reinet. We hope to visit soon.

We spent a wonderful week in the Karoo, but the best part was the dirt road between the farm and the main road. We saw such a variety of wildlife, significantly more than in the Camdeboo National Park. The nights were deathly quiet, which was special for us who are used to city noise.
A relaxing time spent around the fireplace. Beautiful view of the mountains and natural splendour. Convenient accommodation. Johanna's home-baked bread is a winner. Fresh flowers everywhere was a welcome sight. Excellent directions given by Marliza.
We stayed in the 1830 house for 3 nights. We were welcomed by two friendly ladies with homemade bread and butter. There were fresh roses in the house as well as a pot full of fresh herbs in the kitchen. Lovely, comfortable beds, first class bedding, and a lot of comfortable chairs inside and outside. Excellent value for money. Nights quiet and dark, absolute food for the soul.
We had a great time at Langfontein. The farm is beautiful and we enjoyed the trails and scenery. Would love to go back. It made the long drive worth it.

We made our home in Westbrook. The beautiful old farmhouse is hidden in the mountains. We were pleasantly surprised when we pushed open the front door and found the tasteful, neat house with an immediate homely feel. The space in the house is amazing. Marliza was in constant contact with us and made sure we were comfortable and didn't need anything. Johanna and her team spoiled us by cleaning and baking bread and we could just sit quietly on the lovely veranda while the children played and enjoy one cup of coffee after another while we experienced the silence of the Karoo! Marliza's fine hand is clearly visible in every detail of the house. Our only complaint is that a weekend is too short! Hopefully we will be able to go back again soon!

We don't have the words to describe what we found at Langfontein Guest Farm! We were welcomed warmly and received a lukewarm home baked bread with farm butter on the table. Home baked rusks and ground coffee in jugs! The vintage country interior suits this 1830's cottage like a glove. The lawn which faces the dam, the Karoo silence, and the absolute safety made our weekend an unforgettable one. We have never been met with such luxury. We would definitely return to Langfontein again and again!

My husband and I lost our hearts to the Camdeboo. Langefontein is a gem of a place! We stayed in Dots Cottage over Christmas, a beautiful stone house close to the earth with an unexpected luxury. We stayed over for 3 nights en-route to our beach holiday, and will not pass Langefontein in the future. Those three days were food for our souls. Can not wait for next time!

Langfontein en sy mense was die hoogtepunt van ons vakansie. Wonderlikste gesin en personeel wat ons so spesiaal laat voel het - varsgebakte brood en beskuit, baie goeie aanbevelings van dinge om te doen in die omgewing. Ons sal definitief gereeld terugkeer.
Langfontein exceeded our expectations. The farm is a fairy tale and the homestead and surroundings are particularly neat. Historic buildings have been tastefully restored. Would love to go again.
