Lapalosa is very well located close to everything. When you drive through the gate, you get the feeling of a farm and not in the city at all. Very quiet!
Beautiful rooms and quiet environment.
In that environment, it is difficult to find a place that is child-friendly. There is a nice park and swimming pool, perfect for people with small children.
Would be even better if there was a bar/dining facility and DStv in the rooms.
The room is badly neglected. The bathroom was dirty and in need of urgent renovation. The towels are paper thin and hard. The electrical equipment's wiring is untidy and hanging out everywhere. Notices on the walls are put up crookedly and the press type sticks out sloppily. The wall hangings are crooked. The bedside lamps were not plugged in and only one worked anyway. The whole room creates the idea of decay and no pride in their product. The garden pruner on the garden chair by the front door was not very welcoming! One plus point was a lovely mattress. No Lapalosa, a little attention to cleanliness will not cost much, but will make your guests feel much better.

Rooms are on the outside, front porches are dirty, cobwebs with leaves blown everywhere, mops and buckets just standing around. The room was neat and clean, so inside the room I couldn't complain, but the moment you open the door, it wasn't a pretty picture. The curtains slide open, and then you have no privacy, everyone who swims or walks by can see in, no lace curtain or blind.
The photos on Lekkerslaap do not give the true updated image of the Lodge. The furniture is old and broken in places. In the bathroom there were cracks everywhere and pieces of the tiles and wall broken off. Many of the wall plugs did not work. One can forget about showering at night as the light in the bathroom is not strong enough or in a good place. We took the superior family room and it was terribly small. One bed moves out from under the other bed and then there is barely room to walk and no room at all for 3 suitcases. The neighbors have ducks, geese, chickens, macaws and a guy who screams all night. And that in the city. The furniture on the porch is old 1970 wicker plastic furniture. The hand soap in the bathroom is terribly diluted and you can barely wash your hands with it. And it smells amazing.

There was no one at reception when we got there, the receptionist was off to the shops. On Sunday our room was not cleaned, we would have preferred it to have been arranged with us in advance, so that we could take care of our own coffee milk and sugar.
Laundry is done for free, and the breakfast was excellent.

Lapalosa Lodge is just around the corner from the Unitas Hospital and therefore ideal to stay at, if your spouse has to spend the night in the hospital for a procedure.

An unexpected paradise for birders.
The WiFi didn’t work well and the manager had to come after hours to try and fix it, but not much success. You are issued with 500mb vouchers and are required to login every time your phone goes to sleep - it’s a real pain. Ladies on reception over weekend not very knowledgeable to help. The room is very dark, with the reed roof and beams, floor also dark so the room is always dark, and poorly lit. One light in the bathroom not working, so also too dark.
We would have loved an earlier breakfast but I am sure had we asked, we would have been accommodated! Thank you for a very pleasant and comfortable stay!
We regularly stay at Lapalosa for work in Centurion. We will not stay anywhere else - very hospitable.

We had to give up our Saturday night that we paid for as there were drunken guests coming to drink right in front of our unit. There was no one to address the issue from Lapalosa and no feedback was received on my email to Lapalosa. My recommendation is to keep in mind that there are no staff after hours to deal with problems.
The place was at the perfect location because it was as around the restaurants. I was just not happy with how the lady was who works there conducted herself because she just came knocking at the door saying it’s time for checking out whereas the check out was only the following day. She did not even come back to apologise.

It is not a self-catering place. No form of kitchen. We were three people. There were only two chairs outside and one chair in the room, no table or desk. The braai area by the pool was neglected and the pool was dirty. The light at the braai was out of order. No meals were offered either. The hot water tap at the sink is broken. Some of the bedside lights are dead and two towels are not enough for three people. It's a beautiful place that has a lot of potential.
Lapalosa Lodge is located in a peaceful, tree-rich area near Unitas Hospital, where we had an early appointment. The right place to catch your breath during a full program. Friendly service and a delicious breakfast.

Place is beautiful, but there are a few shortcomings. I let them know that it's our 30th wedding anniversary, but they didn't go through any extra lengths for us. Even the champagne I ordered for Tuesday morning wasn't as booked. The sink's pipe was blocked. The TV channels weren't available. For the amount I paid I expected more. The young man at reception was very friendly and helpful and tried to help where he could.
The accommodation met all our expectations: the sitting area was nice, not cramped, providing a private, comfortable space in your own room. The breakfast, however, was disappointing - I think it should be upgraded for its price.
It creates the feeling a Lodge creates, nature, birds, everything feels like you are in a game reserve. It is so nice and peaceful and in the city, and still it doesn't feel like it at all.
