The mountain view was spectacular, and the dam and surrounding gardens were very pretty and teeming with birds. The water pressure and temperature were fantastic, and being a hot weekend, the air conditioning was a bonus. A complimentary bottle of wine on arrival was a lovely touch and quite delicious, and we appreciated the early check-in after an exceptionally long drive. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, even though we were disappointed with a few aspects. The double bed frame was so rickety that we had to call maintenance. The solution: we were advised that the head of the bed had to be kept flush against the wall so that it did not rock back and forth. Unfortunately, this effectively eliminated the closest and most functional plug point for my husband's breathing machine, but the owner sent over an extension cable which made a plug point across the room accessible. The beautiful bath could not be used - on arrival, the manager advised that the bath was not fixed to the floor and that unless we could "sit perfectly still," it would move and the pipes would come loose and flood the bathroom. I'm a farm girl who loves her chickens, but even for me, the rooster/s crowing outside our rondawel both mornings from 3.42 am was an unwelcome disturbance. I get that it's a working farm, but perhaps the rooster/s could be accommodated overnight away from the guest's accommodation. In spite of the above, Lemberg is a lovely destination.

We had such a nice stay! Going back again soon. The place is even more beautiful than the pictures. Also has solar power so load shedding is not an issue. The house is modernly equipped with granite kitchen surface, new gas stove, leather sofa and what looks like brand new bathrooms. The wine tasting is also within walking distance from the house.
Friendly reception and service. Wine tasting was on farm and good wines and friendly service. Accommodation was neat with everything you need. If you want to have a good time and rest, I recommend Lemberg.
1 double bed in a room, 2 single beds in living area. A bit awkward when there are 4 adults. 2 adults with 2 children will work just fine.
Upon arrival, people were friendly and we were helped quickly. Rondawel has a good layout and the pond is refreshing for cooling off. Unfortunately the winery was not open because it was a holiday.

Friendly reception from our hostess, brilliantly equipped rondavel, breathtaking surroundings surrounded by the mountains, made our visit to Tulbagh and Lemberg unforgettable. Rounded off with a Lemberg red wine with sunset by the dam. Thank you Lemberg.
Poor welcome - we didn't know where to go on arrival, the mobile phone number just rang, landline number the lady didn't know who I was at first and finally understood we were coming to stay overnight. She walked out, showed us to stop next to the rondavel, stuck the key in my hand and we didn't hear or see anyone again. We couldn't braai because the braai wasn't cleaned and there were 3 pieces of wood in a bag next to the braai. There were also spiders, which tells me the house had been standing for a while and hadn't been cleaned in a while. When we had to leave the sprinklers were on and they sprayed our car so that it was almost impossible to load our luggage, there was also not a dry enough place to park the car. There is WiFi, but they specify that the best reception is at the cellar's tasting room. A small highlight was the bottle of wine in the fridge.
Quiet place and very beautiful.
Just a short distance off the main R46 to Ceres, but never the less quiet. The rondavel is overlooking a fish pond, in the distance the mountain range is visible. The staff was very polite and friendly, the rondavel is well equipped, clean, the bed comfortable.

There were two lights that ran on batteries so at least we weren't in the dark. Further to that there was a gas stove with no matches available, nor firelighters and match for the braai place. As a result of the power cut, the pumps that supply the water could not work - the implication is that there was no water in the taps or the toilet. What worried me is that the owner lives on the farm, walking distance from our place of residence. They must have known that we were without water, but we were the ones who had to walk around the farm to get help. On request we were given a bottle of water to boil on the gas stove (which they had to light for us due to no matches) and we asked for a bucket full of water from the dam to at least make the toilet work . At no point did they come to us to ask if we needed anything and help us.
Very good value for money. Well furnished apartment with all the necessities for an enjoyable stay. Even got a bottle of wine upon our arrival.
I would advise that they clean the place better. There was dust under the beds and the floors were not washed properly. In general, the place is a bit full of dust. There are quite a few things that are broken or maybe just not working. The aircon does not work. It shows an error code (EC), the curtain rails sometimes fall off when you open the curtains. Overall, I feel that the place could be cleaned better. It's a small place and it's not terribly difficult to clean decently, because even the cellar and wine tasting area are not among the cleanest places. No one welcomed us. Not the manager or owner. This is very disappointing to me. I would have appreciated it if someone had come and introduced themselves and made us feel more welcome.

Lovely little house on a beautiful farm. Problem with bathtub that they are aware of and haven't sorted out beforehand. Then the whole house was under water.
The silence is something you make when your life is a rush. We enjoyed the walk on the farm so much, chickens that wake you up in the morning, where else do you experience that. Would recommend this place if you are looking for a getaway. The wine tasting is meters from the cottage and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Lovely cottage on a working farm with gorgeous views of the mountains. Zelna, Marickus and the Lemberg team went above and beyond to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. Cottage was spacious and spotlessly clean, perfect for a family of 4. Kids loved swimming in the dam. A great option if you want to get away from the crowds. Highly recommended. The website does not do it justice!
The person who received us did not greet, as well as my wife who greeted her twice from the car. The linen was very wrinkled and there are cobwebs in the kitchen among the crockery. The WIFI did not work and there was no DSTV available. The cottage is very comfortable and peaceful. Despite the above I would go there again because it is peaceful and the dogs could come along.
Overall I would go back to Lemberg again and again. They could pay attention to small details such as washing up soap, a broom to sweep and some soap in the bathroom. The solid brass bed was a bit uncomfortable as it had 2 single mattresses and the pillows were all very flat. The aircon was a blessing in the heat. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch but we did have to pay R50 each for the tasting.
The rondavel is beautiful inside and we slept and visited very well. The farm atmosphere was peaceful and calming and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening break.
Quiet, peaceful, with a view of the farm pond from the master bedroom's windows. Everything you could possibly need is provided and everything is clean, tidy and luxurious without being fancy. It's only a few kilometers outside of Tulbagh, which suited us perfectly for short trips into town. Lemberg's wine tasting is also well worth it and I would recommend others to stay here.

We initially watched the dam, with the boat, from a distance. Later we put our feet in the water and were brave enough to take the boat out. Very nice place to relax, with the boat as a means of transport. We walked around the premises and were impressed with the tranquillity. Create a really nice atmosphere.

The staff were very friendly with our arrival. The unit's kitchen is very small, but sufficient. The kids could swim in the dam and ride canoes. There are a lot of spiders, probably due to the thatched roof, but it didn't bother us that much. The complimentary bottle of wine was a great surprise.
Rondawel was very tidy with everything in it that one might need. The environment/location is beautiful and very peaceful - good for one's soul. We were warmly welcomed and the bottle of red wine was a bonus. We enjoyed the place. You have to bring everything with you to a self catering unit, but these days the owners usually provide things like coffee, sugar and milk. Some owners even provide rusks! But the bottle of wine perhaps made up for this, Would've appreciated it if they warned us about the power outage that happened at 09:00 (they knew it was bound to happen).

We really enjoyed the three nights we spent at Lemberg. It is in a quiet and peaceful and beautiful environment and the people are friendly. For me personally, the mattresses on the beds were not firm enough. However, this is my personal taste. A foot mat on both sides of the double bed would also be good. There was only a foot mat on one side of the double bed.
Upon our arrival we were welcomed and even given a bottle of complimentary wine. A pile of firewood for the evening's barbecue and a relaxing walk around the farm pond and nearby vineyard was enjoyable.
The kids loved it and we had a really nice, relaxing stay.
