Nice quiet area, just near main road where all the trucks go up and down.
It was comfortably furnished. It's just noisy with all the trucks going by.
The accommodation is absolutely value for money. Units are spacious and adequately equipped. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Any queries were dealt with effectively and professionally. The location may be closer to the highway than some people would prefer, but it didn't bother us much. The pool right by our unit was a nice bonus.

We were received very kindly and the service was excellent. The breakfast was excellent value for money. I would definitely rather rent a room instead of a unit. The freeway traffic is quieter there.
The environment was great,owners were trully amazing. My issue was with their bedsheets,they didn't look clean or smell clean,this includes the pillow and the blankets.
Very nice, peaceful, was great not to have signal. WiFi was only for emergency if something happened. One goes to rest not to be on the phone all the time.
Short of new pillows on the beds, otherwise everything was fine.
Owner was very present - made sure everything was running smoothly - there is a problem with WiFi that changes every now and then, but the guest house is located in a very complicated valley, so focus on nature instead!

The traffic on the main road was disturbing all night. The tiled wall above the bed was annoying as it is a bit higher than the bed, you have to arrange your pillows so that you don't come into contact with the ice cold tiles during the night! The peacock woke us up early, but it was fun watching him!
Louw was friendly and stopped by daily! The road is quite close to the houses so it would be great as an overnight destination. For longer visits it can be a bit of a hindrance. Everything was neat and clean.

The cottage was a nice place and the breakfast was good. There was no dinner available, but we went to eat the recommended pizza in the neighborhood.

Description should be more detailed eg. traffic can be heard all the time not just at times. There was no network. Was only given Wi-Fi code on the 3rd day, that is not on. Saw the owner on the first day and 3rd day only. Spiders webs everywhere, they should be cleaned out. I left a day earlier.

The personal service is great. The peasant food dinner was delicious and the breakfast just as tasty. Hospitality was great. I could take my yorkie with me, had a nice stay and had a nice chat.

I spent one night in a guest room and usually because I'm a night owl I never sleep early, usually after 11pm in the evenings. My brain doesn't turn off. I was quite surprised when I fell over just after 20h00, so the clean air and fresh oxygen definitely gave the kick. I will definitely visit again. Breakfast was delicious. Many, many thanks for the hospitality.
It is fine for a one-night stop-over. Pack food for yourselves as there aren't many places to buy food in Waterval Boven (Emgwenya).
Cleaning services are of high quality. Very nice breakfast at a very reasonable price. Owners are trying their best to still provide a high level of service under the difficult Covid conditions. Have a nice rest between the mountain slopes and clean, fresh air! Highly recommended for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city noise!
The owner goes out of his way and goes the extra mile to keep customers happy. Will always use Luilekker in the future on the way to our woodland destination, or just take an extra day or two to visit the mountains.

Our family really enjoyed the weekend. The walking route at Kaapsche Hoop and the visit to the Sudwala Caves were highlights and it was wonderful to go back to Luilekker Gastehuis every time where the children could swim and the adults could enjoy the tranquility.
The buildings require a bit of painting and sprucing up! Attention to detail might be needed! Really enjoyed the stay - cozy and comfortable!
The nature is excellent and not too far from Waterval Boven, which makes it easy if you need or need anything. One can check out the beautiful waterfall which is just around the corner. It was great and we enjoyed it. We used the pool even though the weather was a bit cool and it was still fantastic.

Lazy getaway, exactly what the name means!
The break was very nice and relaxing, visited some interesting places while we were there, also had a nice walk on the farm. We made use of their breakfast and dinners and it was really very tasty and tastefully prepared and also at very reasonable prices, thank you very much. Louw told us a lot and taught us about circles which are very common in the area. The place is very clean and tidy and cleaned daily. Louw and his wife were great hosts and ladies, we were very well taken care of, thank you again.
The children also really enjoyed the swimming pool (also clean and tidy).

Well, where can a guy start than the beginning. Mr. and Mrs. Pretorius was so helpful, friendly and professional. As a family, we haven't had such a nice, quiet visit and proper rest in a long time. The people around us were quiet and the atmosphere fantastic. The property is well equipped and if something is missing Mr. Pretorius ready to help. I can recommend Luilekker to any family. If you can look past a plaster crack without turning your nose up, then luilekker is the place for you. Yes it's not a hotel in Sandton, nor a palace, but the people who own Luilekker make it feel like a hotel in Sandton and definitely make every room feel like a palace with their passion for their visitors. The service there is of course something completely different, we ordered a nice dinner the first night and it was delivered right to our unit by the owner, and the food was very tasty. Even the breakfast was fantastic. You pay extra for this, but I can say, it's a real farm breakfast. Then not even to talk about the knowledge that Mr. Pretorius knows the area, he showed us all the best places to visit, his knowledge is broad and safe to follow. We visited about 60% of the places because there are just too many places one can go and see. We were only there for 4 days, but it felt like we spent two weeks in a peaceful and safe environment. Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Pretorius, you are the perfect example of small town people, making a big difference in people's lives. We will definitely see you again.

The guesthouse was probably nice and comfortable 25 years ago. It is in dire need of upgrading and maintenance. The owner is friendly but tries to master everything on his own. My advice to him is, sell or get new blood to help you. The accommodation is definitely not suitable for the older traveller.
Oom Louw was a gracious host and very accommodating for my parents, two kids and myself. He has a lot of knowledge on the area and was most helpful with places to go and see.

It is affordable, nice facilities like swimming pool and braai area. However some painting is required as the there were cobwebs.

Louw, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. There is a lot of road noise, but it gets quieter late at night. The place is secure with bars in front of the door. Not once did we feel unsafe. We would stay there again, it's good value for money. Our apartment's bathroom door couldn't close completely, so it's a bit of an embarrassment when you go to the toilet because the whole apartment can hear you. Louw gave us free wood for the evening's barbecue. We stayed in an apartment that sleeps 6, but is a lot of furniture for the surface, the space was a bit limited, but because we only slept there, it didn't bother us. We enjoyed the warm blankets on the bed, as well as the gas geyser.

We stayed at Luilekker Guest House on our way to the Kruger National Park from Gauteng. The guest house is conveniently located in the center and is perfect for an overnight stay. The owners were very friendly and hospitable and spared no effort to make us feel welcome. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. We will definitely stay overnight again on the way to the Wildtuin and maybe even make a weekend of it! I would recommend Luilekker Gastehuis.

The whole atmosphere at Luilekker is exactly like the name says, peaceful and nice. The meals (dinner and breakfast) was tasty and more than enough. Price wise the guest house is excellent value for money. I'd support them again and highly recommend them.

Delectable breakfast and we were warmly received and checked out. Frustrating road works.
There was a lot of sand inside at the backdoor on the kitchen's side. The bathroom was full of ants. The bedroom's ceiling was clearly cleaned long ago ─ the corners were filled with cobwebs and geckos. Noise from vehicles outside was also disturbing.

The place is very pleasant and in a beautiful setting, I would recommend it. Just a little bit of criticism, if they can replace the bedding and pillows with new linen and sheets as well as renovate the self-catering units a bit and furnish them with new, but simple, furniture, they will get a very good discount from travelers.

It was peaceful and we could enjoy the nature around us. We slept very well. All the facilities were available. Could perhaps bring in more activities, such as e.g. a games room with "darts", snooker table, table tennis and board games. I would like to make a suggestion: The old people can't do the mountain walks and walk far and it will keep them busy and it can be an asset to the place and the resort can get a star, who knows? We will definitely recommend Luilekker to friends and family.

We initially booked a room, but Mother Nature intervened and there was a hailstorm with the result that some of the room floors were wet and the owner accommodated us in a self-catering unit at no additional cost. Had a great sleep over. Louw received us wonderfully. The charcoal stove was a winner for the suddenly cold evening. The road noise was a bit rough.
The buildings were slightly weathered and there was not enough hot water for showering. However, service was friendly and value for money made up for it.

Good location on the way to Lowveld. A lot of road noise because it is against the N4. However, lacks attention inside unit: the bathroom window could not close, no curtain in bathroom and therefore no form of privacy and cold and noise are not averted. Doors don't close tightly either. However, the unit was clean and the electric blankets were a plus.
Just a pity there was no one to help us (two elderly sisters) with the luggage. And then of course... We couldn't watch the Stormers on Saturday afternoon, there is no channel 201!

If you are looking for personal service, helpfulness and friendliness, you will find it at Leilekker Gastehuis. The area is also beautiful and clean. We will definitely stay there again.
Only one problem: the noisy traffic. Luilekker is right next to the N4 and when it gets quieter, especially in the evening, you hear the trucks and cars making noise and disturbing the silence. Furthermore, everything was neat and clean. There were no complaints.
