The name describes it well, it really is a Lushof. The most beautiful big trees down by the creek. Will consider this as my first option in the future.

Lovely area and chalet. Everything neat and clean and well equipped. Spacious rooms and bathroom with bath and shower. Lovely view of the valley from the stoep where there is a built-in braai. Dinner was delicious! Leg of mutton and vegetables and even dessert were served in our chalet for convenience. Don't just sleep over one night, make it two or more! We ordered the meal the day before and Lise and her team did not disappoint us - it was top notch! The unit is very spacious with plenty of room to move around. There was even milk, fruit juice, cold water and ice in the fridge when we arrived. Our dogs had enough space to run around freely outside. There was plenty of coffee, tea and sugar, as well as biscuits and cereal for breakfast. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend staying here anytime.

Lise is very friendly and stayed in touch before our visit. Directions to the property were very good and we drove to the guest house. Very nice and quiet environment.

Lushof was a beautiful place to stay over which was efficiently close to the highway while still allowing you to feel far enough away to relax and enjoy the stunning view! The owners were amazing with communication and so accommodating! We got the braai meal which I would highly recommend to enjoy a lovely braai in such beautiful surroundings! We enjoyed it and would recommend it!
The shower did not drain, resulting in one standing in water, this was a huge negative issue! The hostess was very polite and pleasant. We would definitely not recommend the two sleeper cottage at all, particularly in view of the inept shower, this impacted on the cleanliness rating!
We stayed here twice in 2 months when traveling between Gauteng and the Western Cape. It is the perfect place to recharge. Close to the highway but far enough away to not hear the traffic. Great view from the stoep. We'll be back!

Lushof is an ideal stopping place. On our last visit, we simply stayed for two nights to better experience the view and the farm atmosphere, and we will do so again.
Lushof is one of my favorite places to stay. This time was special with the autumn colors of the poplar trees. The cottage is comfortable, has everything one needs, and offers fantastic views from the stoepie and braai area.

Hostess' service is excellent, so nice overnight.
The lodge is located in the middle of one of the most beautiful valleys in the Southern Free State and is just far enough off the N1 that you don't hear the road, but is still convenient as a stop over. Climb the koppie behind the lodge and enjoy stunning scenery and a chance to see some small game. There are also some late Stone Age tool workings on the koppie.
The silence, the feeling of absolute freedom and the beautiful. For us it was refreshing. All the little things we experienced were like real hospitality. The rusks, the fresh milk, the fruit juice and cereal flakes for breakfast it was awesome. Thank you.

You have to have dinner there, it's something you shouldn't miss.
We spent the night at the lovely Lushof Lodge on the way back from Plettenberg Bay. Everything was beautiful and tidy on the wonderfully peaceful farm. We enjoyed an incredible sunset with a glass of red wine and then enjoyed our home cooked plate of farm food provided by Lise. It was delicious and we will remember the place for the future.

Lise is a fantastic hostess, had a nice chat and made us feel at home. When we arrived there was nice cold fruit juice and milk in the fridge. There were also nice biscuits and instant porridge for us in the house. The house was comfortable and clean. The view from the veranda was breathtaking and the peace and quiet for a tired holidaymaker is, as the people would say, priceless.
Located approximately twenty kilometers north of Gariep, Lushof is perfect as overnight accommodation for journeys between Johannesburg and Cape Town or P.E. Already 14 years in operation and equipped with everything needed for self-catering, up to an outdoor braai with wood and a braai grill. Neat and clean two-room units sleeping 5 adults with TV and air conditioning at the most affordable price imaginable. Feel free to make yourself at home at Lushof and make sure you don't deprive yourself of the opportunity to enjoy Lisa and family's hospitality and friendship.

We are very happy we discovered this gem of a place. Close to the N1, but far enough from traffic noise to be able to relax and sleep in total peace. Good food, friendly service, our hostess Lise is lovely! We will definitely come back, it is very convenient halfway between Gauteng and the Garden Route. Special view, you can just sit and look out, or go for a nice walk in the field.
