"A bit disappointing."

Wonderful unit and service was sadly overshadowed by constant thoroughfare of illegal hawkers and loud music from neighbours that continued until after midnight.

Very clean, safe place. For those who want to rest, eat lobster and be on the beach all day looking at the sea, then this is a place you should go. All the time security and friendly people. Will definitely go back again.

Paternoster is a lovely place to rest and recharge. Malgassie is right next to the sea, fantastically furnished with neat finishes. There are also quite a few 'extras' to get anyone excited, e.g. An excellent coffee machine, easy 'Wifi QR Code', Netflix and a dishwasher. Thank you, my parents and I really enjoyed it and will definitely visit again in the near future.

The pictures do not do Malgassie justice. There is beautiful attention to detail and a better view than what you expect from the pictures. The big rock in front enhances the feeling of privacy and has a gradual slope at the beach end. Each one of us spent time on it gazing at the ocean and surrounds. Only two shortcomings. The afternoon sun on the porch is very hot and there is no way to block it. There are times when it feels a bit unsafe due to the crayfish sellers wo do come in to the complex even though they are not allowed to. We ended up booking an extra night and I cannot wait to go back in winter to try out the indoor fireplace/braai.

Look out for ugly bedside lamps because they fall off the tiny bedside tables and are expensive. Not a check is done prior and you might be held responsible for eg broken chair standing there.

"We have been warned about safety and theft if valuables are left unattended. Open windows and doors are taboo unless you are physically in the area all the time."

We have e.g. on the recommendation of neighbors the back of the cottage's windows and shutters were kept closed at all times. Someone was constantly "on guard" on the front porch and front door. There was a case where the front door was open and no one was on the porch, within a minute there was someone at the front door wanting to sell something. Nothing can be left unattended. As far as the accommodation is concerned, it is a shame to report that there are quite a few flaws. We reported the defects to "Stay in Paternoster's" agent upon our departure. We have pictures of all the defects if you would like them. Please take notice of the following: The one bathroom at the back window does not have a latch to lock from the inside (broken). The bathroom shutters close from the outside, so it's easy to open. The anti-theft protection is strong, we suspect a small person could worm his way through it. Our neighbor came to warn us to close the back hatches, there were young children playing there. All the shutters could not be closed, the sliders are not across each other. Two of the wooden chairs' legs were pulled loose so that they could not be used. The "wire chairs" on the porch legs are very flimsy and fold in, the wire carpet is pulled loose - therefore unsafe to use. We used the 4 wooden kitchen chairs, not very comfortable chairs. The outdoor grill's grill settings on one side are broken out of the wall. We had to use bricks to put the grid on. The two single beds' mattresses are in a very poor condition, the spring mattresses lie on a solid wooden board. On the 2nd night, my wife sat up and slept on the living room couch. The property is excellently located with an unbeatable view. The weather was fantastic, just a shame about the safety risk and the few elements of the accommodation that are not up to standard. We spoke to a person who owns property there and he admits that more can be done regarding safety - eg. good lighting at night around certain areas and more security guards.

It's the safest and neatest place to choose for a holiday. Staff are so friendly and helpful, there is regular security so you can sleep peacefully. Malgassie is a very neatly arranged for any vacationer, so close to the whole town to just go for a walk, the beach is clean and tidy. Thank you very much for the nicest holiday.

I have always wanted to go on holiday in Paternoster and it exceeded all expectations. Especially Malagasy where we stayed. Everything was clean and comfortable and you won't get any closer to the beach.

The view from Malgassie is picturesque. The cottage is very secure with burglar alarm, shutterguard and alarm system. The security firm also patrolled regularly. The cottage is very comfortably furnished and there was no need to take anything but ourselves with us.

We had a wonderful stay and were able to enjoy the sea and beach. We understood that the bed in the master bedroom and the sofa in the living room would be replaced and this is definitely necessary, as we are not so young anymore and have been sitting and sleeping very badly. After all, that is the purpose of vacation, to go back to work rested. Furthermore, we were impressed with full DStv (thank you very much) and really couldn't complain.

The house has a very good location with many beggars knocking on your door daily by the tons. The sofas in living room are dirty and worn out, old neglected furniture. The same goes for the poor quality mattresses and mushy pillows with stains and spots. For what you pay you expect at least a clean unit. Most of the barbecue equipment is missing. Not a safe area at all, can't even leave your running shoes on the porch. Even the porch was dirty and full of grease stains from previous guests with the oldest most impractical set on the porch. There is no security as there is control in the "Die Kom" complex. Will definitely not be staying in Malagasy again and would think twice about staying in a property rented out by Stay In Paternoster.

House has everything one needs for a weekend. Only one negative - should look to replace mattress in the main bedroom. Position of house to the beach is also good. All round a good experience.

Arrangements were excellent, a house full of character and homey. Sidewalk, however, very untidy and dirty, toilets short attention, but still lovely.

Was pleasant and location is unbeatable. The lobster peddlers bother a lot and are allowed to move right up to and between houses. Problem!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Malgassie is very close to the beach and restaurants. We will make use of this facility again in future.

We made the best of everything and did enjoy it. Just want to mention that the dishes were still dirty and the outdoor grill is not working, smoke is always coming out. People should bear in mind that the beach right in front of Malgassie belongs to the fishermen in the morning with their boats and vans, so a bit unsafe especially for children. If I may mention things to promote Malgassie's marketing. Better add cooking pot/pan. Top sheets with a blanket because the only duvets on beds are just too hot to sleep under during hot days and also better pillows. Another couch in the living room will also go down well for relaxing in front of the TV. Furthermore, Malgassie is great.

Malgassie is a very nice house by the sea. It was lovely to sit on the patio and hear and smell the ocean.

Bedding is insufficient for winter. Towels are insufficient, at least two sets per person. Floors and outside area are not clean.

We couldn't use the grill, it was so bent from all the years of use. Braai was under water and no one dried it up. Windows could not be opened. House was not very clean. The TV and decoder remotes did not work either. We couldn't watch TV. Sofa and chairs were not clean. Showers were not clean either. Furthermore, we had a nice view of the sea. The picture on the website gave us a false impression.

My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary. The accommodation is basically on the beach with a beautiful view. It was so beautiful and quiet! The accommodation is within walking distance of everything. It is well-equipped and very nice to stay there. Large fireplace in the living room and floor heating. Even the hawkers were not so bad. The only downside is that we sometimes did not feel so safe with the hawkers who came to the stoep and strange people who sometimes walked around there. We did not feel like we could open the door or the windows, even though we were at home. Fortunately, there was a lot of neat burglar bars that helped a lot. We will definitely go there again! I just think it's the perfect place to stay during the busy time!

The house is incredibly beautiful, close to the sea, places to eat and shops. The people hawking lobster, abalone and mussels are just very annoying and come to bother you incredibly much, even though he has been with you more than 5 times a day. I chose Paternoster for me and my wife's 9 year anniversary because they say that there is an 'unofficial rule' in Paternoster that everything must be quiet around 22:00 in the evening. On Friday night people visited until 3 o'clock on Saturday morning and we called the Police and the people from Paternoster Accommodations regarding the noise but nothing helped. Saturday night the same story, nothing was done about it. So I will think twice about going there again, because other people's company did not make our anniversary enjoyable at all.

A two day break out of the city which was too short! Neat, clean and secure cottage (has an alarm) a few steps away from the sea! From the 'stoep' you look directly onto the beach whilst braai'ing! It is literally fully equipped, all catering utensils were present, except for wood and coals - the town is however limited in shops so come prepared with groceries. The cottage is situated well into the complex so you don't get many people or cars coming past. Pure relaxation.

You can literally lock your vehicle upon arrival and walk wherever you want to be during your stay. The surrounding area is also beautiful and refreshing for a city person. The villagers received us like old residents and friends. I can't wait for our next visit.
