The farm is so beautiful. You are surrounded by citrus trees and mountains. We took long evening walks admiring nature, and we loved it so much that we booked an extra day.
Nice stay is an understatement. It was definitely one for the books. The place is a 5 star place. Would definitely go back anytime.

Good quality bed linen, large kitchen and a great location in the orange orchard. Really nice hosts too!
Beautiful houses with a beautiful layout. Was advertised that there is a generator, but it only turns on when they want, other times you are without power. Absolutely no mobile signal, and wifi so weak that it only picks up at certain points and as soon as you move, the signal is gone again. No hairdryer, even though there was one listed. Aircon in main bedroom of Chalet 3 does not make it cold. Jacuzzi's heater pump is always on and cannot be controlled. Jacuzzi's light doesn't work either.
The 6-sleeper chalets each had its own 3-bedroom en-suites (would be nice to have keys to each room). Fully furnished kitchen and air-conditioning in all rooms. DStv and Wi-Fi. For the lower-lying chalets, a repeater is definitely needed.
Disappointed that the WiFi did not work inside our chalet, we had to be outside to get a weak signal. Funny smell from behind the dishwasher (that also did not work properly).
The chalet was surrounded by vineyards and mountains giving us a breathtaking view. The aircons in the chalet really helped with the extreme heat we experienced. The host however was not very helpful when we requested his assistance with loud noises on our roof due to birds, and unscheduled electricity cuts. The booking agent, on the other hand, was very helpful and assisted us speedily.
Calm and relaxing stay at Marcuskraal. The owner was welcoming and the chalet had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Wood and ice is available for purchase at the location. The farm was beautiful and pool area. Hot tub heats up quite nicely and having generators during loadshedding was just a bonus. The W-Fi could not be reached from our chalet, but it was not an issue for us.

Had a nice stay. Place is a bit small for what you pay, don't think it's worth the money. But a tour bus arrived, jamming the place. And we had to move our vehicles in front of our house to make room for them. They didn't really give us an option. Feels like they were given preference. We just had to make room for it to fit them. Other people also complained that he was blocking them. Don't think I will stay there again. But at least had a place to sleep.

They really went out of their way to make it as comfortable as possible during loadshedding ensuring the lights stay on.
My family and I really enjoyed our time at Marcuskraal and will soon book a weekend there again. Everything was nice and clean and in its place. There were two things that I would like to bring to your attention. The indoor braai in Chalet 3's chain on one side on the right side was broken and it was uncomfortable to braai there and in the master bedroom there were long brown hairs under the bedding. Wasn't that bad but it's also not something you expect after a long day.

Marcuskraal is safely located and in a quiet area away from the main road. The campsite extends right in front of the chalets and shares the swimming pool. The chalet room has a narrow porch if you want to sit outside. The room is nice and spacious with good air conditioning but would be more comfortable with two bedside tables and maybe also a table inside for when you don't sit outside. Something to put a bath bag on in the bathroom is also needed. Kitchen is small but well equipped for an overnight stay. There is a nice lawn and large trees in front of the chalets (the photos only show open ground), but this also means that if it is full, campers can set up camp right in front of your chalet. The WiFi is not strong enough in the room to be useful.
Although the temperature was almost 50°C, we really enjoyed the place and facilities. You sleep in absolute silence and tranquility and startle again. We visited specifically for the hot tub and were able to enjoy it under the stars at night. Most beautiful beautiful! We will definitely return to Marcuskraal again!

Had a problem with the Jacuzzi that broke down on our second night, which was a pity. Irrespective, we enjoyed the environment we found ourselves in. Host was friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed the cottage. The Jacuzzi was a winner in the cold weather and warms you up quickly! We were not there with a 4x4 vehicle, but we did go for a walk on the farm and it looks like it could be a very nice destination for 4x4 enthusiasts/groups. As someone who is more used to camping, the cottage was 5 star for us!

It was five star accommodation at three star prices. Perfect stay if you want to get away from everything and everyone. Well equipped chalets with everything one could need, even a dishwasher. The pool and jacuzzi was also a winner. We even had our own guard dog to watch over us at night.

Terribly beautiful and neat. Very glad there was aircon. Fully equipped. Booked chalet no 1 and got chalet no 3. Feels strange to sleep in a place where the second room in the house is locked as only 2 people check in. DSTV switched off early morning on day of check-out. Jacuzzi should be set cooler, it's terribly hot in Citrusdal and even in the evening the jacuzzi is too hot to use. Not much to do in Citrusdal.
This was our 2nd time, and we will definitely go again.

The place was neat and clean. When we arrived it was a little confusing, the dogs were a little scary at first, however the jacuzzi was awesome, perfect for a couple getaway. This place will definitely be added to one of my future travel destinations.
The chalet was well furnished, very tidy. We were received very kindly. There are still a few small details that can be paid attention to, for example there were no tables next to the beds in the 2nd bedroom, sharp knives in the kitchen, maybe a salad bowl. It's all detail that can be added with time. Didn't detract from the stay at all. Maybe an arrow by the brown nameplate.

The 200 km it took me to drive there from Cape Town was worth it. I really enjoyed the privacy, peace and quiet, chalets are very well managed (well done to management team) we appreciated top amenities - clean and crisp. Everything works, Jacuzzi (hot water therapy) was fantastic, especially in the evening under stars. Great a place to go if you want to switch off and get away from office. Definitely will add Marcuskraal Chalets to my list for great holiday destinations.

Very impressed with the comfort of the chalet. Didn't feel too welcome on arrival as we were asked if we were in the right place. Would suggest that there be rules regarding noise, especially at night, appears on website. The noise from the visitors next door was a disturbance. Otherwise our stay was good. Jacuzzi was a hit. Children enjoyed it.

The smell of orange blossoms wakes you up in the morning and later you gaze out over the beautiful orchards while drinking a glass of champagne in the Jacuzzi. The place is neat and modern and no noisy neighbours to speak of. The photos are not a match of the true image. 5 star quality here.
I was in room no 5 and my children in house no 1. Their house was beautiful and big. I would not recommend my room for a whole weekend. But in my case it was good enough, because I spent most of the time with my children in the house. Place is lovely clean and tidy.

Place to go to admire nature. Nice to relax and switch off, of course the Jacuzzi is the highlight (fire outside, stars above and in a hot Jacuzzi). Boy of almost 3 had fun playing outside without worrying about vehicles. Maybe just bring some security to the house like security gate at sliding door and maybe burglar bars at windows, because we can't be too careful anymore today. We really enjoyed our time as a family. Will go again.

One of the best places to rest.
All you need is food and drink. Everything else is provided and is immaculately clean. The Jacuzzi, beautiful pool, aircon in every room, dishwasher, DStv, 3 en-suite bedrooms are just some of the features which will see me back there again. The nearest town is 20 kilometers away so try not to forget anything.
Citrusdal is very hot, but fortunately the chalets are equipped with two air conditioners. Everything was neat and clean and lived up to expectations.
We stayed in a luxury family room (the ones above the camp ground without Jacuzzi). Lovely, spacious and new - and it has good aircon. Had everything we needed, but would have loved some coffee mugs as the cups are more like espresso cups. The kitchen sink is also very small, causing water to overflow onto the kitchen counter, and not located in the best position - too close to the wall, too deep into the counter. But these are minor little things. Lovely pool, but you would be wise to pack your umbrella as there is no shade at pool area. Lovely owners. And wonderful 4x4 route - but thank goodness our Jimny has a diff lock as, without that, we would have been in trouble.

Very nice place, neat, modern and quiet area. Very private didn't really see anyone. The Jacuzzi was very nice. You can literally just take your clothes and food and rest. I just wanted a little more information, eg. Wi-Fi password on arrival, how does the sliding door lock, the lights, when the power goes off and the heat of the Jacuzzi.

We were 2 couples, so the 3rd bedroom was locked, which I found strange. We were asked by the owner to speak Afrikaans and I'm English speaking. We were told not to throw towels over shower glass as it might break. After a long drive all we wanted to do was relax with a drink before we unpacked, however the owner wanted to take us through the house, opening every cupboard to explain what was in them as if we did not know what are cups, glasses, plates etc.

It's just what my family and I needed. The house with Jacuzzi was perfect, it has everything you need. The atmosphere with the citrus trees makes everything calm around you. Will definitely visit again, but this time longer, because a weekend is too soon.

The accommodation is very neat and beautifully clean, there is enough space for children to play and our 2 year old enjoyed the orange groves and sand very much. The host and his family are very friendly and we were warmly received. The Jacuzzi is a great treat and the view together with a barbecue fire will ensure that you return home stress-free and rested.

Nestled between the picturesque mountains and gorgeous orange groves, this place is truly away from the maddening crowd. Enjoy soaking in the jacuzzi while the friendly farm dogs and cows amble about. This unit has everything you need for a lovely stay - including a dishwasher, an indoor braai/fireplace, an outside fireplace, swimming pool, and of course the toasting jacuzzi. It's well worth a visit. The only problem is that you might not want to leave!

Just want to have more play facilities for the kids, but otherwise everything is good.
The aircon is a must and it's very comfortable. The Jacuzzi is warm water though so during the summer you can only use it early morning or late in the evening. There is luckily a cold swimming pool as well, but the road is full of thorns. Literally, big ones that stick right through a flip flop. If we knew that beforehand we would have taken with better shoes. Flies and mosquitoes are in abundance, but you have to expect that from a farm. The dishwasher is very convenient, the kitchen is well laid out, with all the necessary equipment, you can work in the kitchen and look out and chat while making food. Ice and wood are available. Thank you for a lovely weekend.
What a perfect place to get away from it all for a weekend. Close enough to Cape Town for a quick break away, but still far enough away to feel like you are in another world. You can spend some time relaxing in the hot tub over looking the orchard, while the kids play outside or, for the more adventurous, you can try out the 4x4 course or just enjoy walking or running on the farm. It's perfect for both the hot summer as well as the cold winter months. With both an indoor as well as an outdoor braai and aircon in each bedroom as well as the spacious living area. In addition, each bedroom is en-suite, which was an added bonus! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to get away from it all. Be that as a couple, as a family, or as a group of friends. I am already looking to see when we can go back!

I can advise anyone who is interested to rest at Marcuskraal Chalets. The chalets are particularly well equipped (air conditioning, dishwasher, Jacuzzi, stove and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave oven, indoor and outdoor barbecue, all 3 rooms en suite, DStv, flat screen television etc.). The kitchen equipment is also of a very high quality compared to other similar accommodation where we have stayed. The layout of the chalet is also very practical and the view is extremely beautiful. The management/owner of the holiday resort is very friendly and helpful. Although we didn't camp, I also have to compliment the campground. It is very clean and well maintained, with green lawns. The conference/function hall is also of a very high quality. We came back extremely well rested after the 5 days at Marcuskraal.

Our visit at Marcuskraal was exactly what we had in mind. Rest, rest and rest before our baby comes! The air conditioning was a saving grace in the heat and of course also the Jacuzzi. The chalet has everything you need to relax. Krisjan's service is great. We had a problem with the heat of the Jacuzzi and Krisjan was there within minutes to help us. We will definitely visit Marcuskraal again.
We will definitely return. The chalet is well equipped. The air conditioning in the summer is an absolute bonus and the Jacuzzi was great fun. The pool and play area kept the children busy for hours. They also enjoyed walking around the orchard in front of the chalet. We stayed 5 nights and didn't want to leave when it was time to leave. The availability of a second, similar chalet also makes it ideal for two families with children to holiday together or break away. We went to see bushman drawings in the Sederberge and also drove the dirt roads and passes around the farm and enjoyed the scenery.
Was hoping for more silence though. Normal farm operations plus a tour group arriving on the second day changed that. N7 is also close by - you can hear the big trucks passing by.

When booking, please be aware that the accommodation offers 2 types of accommodation of which only 4 chalets have a Jacuzzi. The accommodation comprises 6 Luxury rooms with a kitchenette, a braai on the verandah and have no Jacuzzi. The 4 chalets come equipped with comfortable beds, an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, indoor braai, a veranda and a Jacuzzi.
Guests have access to a swimming pool located 50 m from the chalets.
Marcuskraal Chalet is about 20 km from Citrusdal and 2 hours from Cape Town. This location makes Marcuskraal ideal for weekend visitors in search of refuge from the city but who do not want to spend a significant part of the weekend behind the wheel. It is also ideal for travellers on the Cape to Namibia route. We are only 1.5 km from the N7 and a tar road leads from the N7 to the farm.
