Satisfactory stay. Dinner was nice, but price is very high compared to other establishments.
Accommodation was adequate, room nice and clean.
I cannot recommend Matoppo Inn enough! We slept over for the first time on the way to Cape Town and looked for a place. Matoppo went from an unknown to our new favorite destination for an overnight stop. They almost broke their bones so hard they bent over backwards for us! No request was too much and they made the start of our holiday unforgettable. Our children and 2 dogs were just sorry we didn't stay longer! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and made you feel like family. I can really highly recommend them! We will definitely see them again!
The fact that it is animal friendly is a bonus.
The guesthouse is beautiful with friendly staff. We had a great time and they even made our dog feel welcome.

Matoppo used to be my chosen place to stay. But for R1500 I would like not to experience load shedding for just an overnight stay and business visit. The power went out at 10 pm and we were in pitch black. My son had to do urgent architectural drawings through the night because I was driving. I specifically chose the place because I know they have solar panels. I also couldn't take a bath late at night because there wasn't even a candle or lamp. Next time I'd rather prefer a different location that doesn't experience load shedding.

Lovely overnight stay. With all the take away meals on the road trip, the home cooked meal was the best meal! Compliments to the chef.
They put out coffee, but no milk. The kettle cannot be filled in the sink. Kettle's lid falls off. Gap between front door and floor about 30 to 40 mm. Insects come into it after the light at night. Wall plug is out of the wall. Potted plants on the porch are in serious need of water and cleaning.
Beautiful historic home. Everything tidy with a very nice garden. Had a tasty meal. We will visit Matoppo again.
The best place in town. Their service was excellent. Food was top notch. I wanted to take the cook home with me. Vallerie and team took care of everything. Even our dog baby was well looked after.
Everything was 100% in place.
Only stayed one night. Power went out at 20h30 and there was no hot water then either and only very low pressure cold water. After a hot day on the road, one wants to take a shower. Power went out somewhere during the night. Around 05h10 monkeys ran on the roof and woke us up. The room's window opens into the restaurant, so you can't really open it. We also gave all this information to the guest house on their written feedback leaflet. There wasn't even a Whatsapp to just say sorry. Will not stay there again or recommend to anyone.

The welcome was very friendly and professional. The room was beautiful, neat and spacious.
The place is nice but needs some upgrades in certain aspects of the rooms. Furniture needs a little care.
The only complaint is that there was no a la carte menu available. We just wanted to eat something light and in the end we had to eat a set meal at R250 per person. We were not told this would be the cost. We couldn't finish half which is a waste. We couldn't even fit in the dessert.

We had a problem with the air-conditioner dripping during the night onto the bed then the noise from the water pump was most disturbing. Reported to Security at 1:20 am - wrote a report. We were called in the morning with apologies. We requested a refund or rebate. The manager agreed to report back.
Safe, well located, clean, friendly reception, large lawn and nice and comfortable beds. We slept very well.
I particularly liked the lovely garden where one can relax completely undisturbed. The owners have managed to retain the original, historic home's graciousness, which is a massive plus point. Long may it continue.
The song "Beautiful in Beaufort-Wes" describes Matoppo Inn and I believe was written for them. We had an unforgettable evening with stars in the sky and visiting them around a barbecue fire. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them (even though they had a big function that night). The rooms are immaculate and the staff are friendly, as can only happen in the countryside. If you miss out on the breakfast, it's your loss. The home-made cookies and scones and the delicious omelettes are outstanding. We will visit them again, definitely!

Beautiful peaceful gardens and clean, tidy and well equipped rooms. The arrangements regarding late arrival, early departure and the remote control for the gate is very good. Parking for vehicles is safe and convenient. We have stayed here before and definitely will again. Well done!

We had 2 wonderful nights in Matoppo Inn. The service was absolutely superb with delicious meals and super special rooms! It was like a step back in time! The gardens were so fantastically beautiful, even though there is a drought! Friendly staff and they always made our disabled child feel included - that means so much to me! My 2 other children were in their element about room 3, it was super special. Room 2 was my dream.

Have slept here many times. Was the jewel of the Karoo. But unfortunately the general hand on detail has disappeared. Did e.g. only got half a roll of toilet paper. Although the food, dinner and breakfast is very good, it lacks the finishing touch with a tomato etc. The rooms' floors under the dressing table were sticky and dirty. Said I wouldn't recommend, but for the price, if the above is sorted I'd stay there again.

We were being kept well informed of our reservation before arrival. All the staff were very friendly. Our dinner was tasty and the portions were big. The rooms are clean, comfortable and cosy.

Very nice historic main building in a nice garden just off the main street with everything you need. Main street traffic doesn't bother at all. Everyone very friendly.
Valerie's service was outstandingly outstanding. An oasis, what more could you want!? I suggest: maybe a buffet and more salads.
The rooms are well furnished and are deliciously warm in a freezing Beaufort West. Staff are friendly and hospitable.
Beautiful place to stay. It's a must-see during the day. Accommodation and the gardens are beautifully clean. Was particularly impressed with the large showers and of course the electric blanket. Wanted to use the room service so badly, but there just wasn't enough time.
It really felt like we were bothering the people when we got there. We were given a room number and had to walk around in the cold wind with a newborn baby looking for our room. My husband went to call the lady in the office and she was really incompetent and failed!

Beautiful gardens, great for families with little ones who want to stretch their legs, or to just walk around in the beautiful, cool garden. Comfortable room and friendly service.
We slept great and air conditioner was helpful. We spent the night there on our way to the West Coast, slept well and rested, staff are friendly and helpful. The parking is just too far from the rooms, especially if you are old, it is a problem with luggage. Would appreciate if someone could help carry luggage to room. The place is neat and clean and gardens show beautifully. It is a pleasure to sleep over there and would highly recommend it.

A lovely shady garden with swimming pool. The bedding was not clean and needed to be replaced; the staff immediately replaced it. The dinner was average.
Rooms were spacious, clean and the air conditioning was a bonus. Personal customer service on arrival was not what it should be for a 4 star rating. Dinner was delicious, but not value for money:- small portions with no extras on the menu. I will use the guest house again.
Excellent accommodation in an ideal location. Lovely garden and good parking area. Will stay again if in Beaufort West in the future and will recommend to friends. Dinner was a bit on the pricey side.
A peaceful atmosphere! It's nice to relax after a long journey. Accommodation is great, comfortable and clean. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The only criticism was that the kitchen staff were slow with service.
