Mimosa guesthouse is clean, and tidy, and nicely furnished. But the location is slightly unsafe and is indicated as another address in Colesberg. There is no place to put luggage or hang towels, and no Wi-Fi. Parts of the rooms are also dry walls, which offer no privacy.

Room clean, fridge was too small for our meat, we had booked the room with a bigger fridge. Not a train smash as we used the cooler box. Not enough chairs outside for all the residents to sit. Some were broken. We were given the end room which suited us however the numbering field was filled with litter - I suggest sending the wonderful gardener to clean it as that is the first and last thing I saw.

The rock garden around the house fascinated me. Was a very peaceful environment. Could walk to Innie Kraal for dinner. It was a delicious meal. Explored the area on foot and felt very safe.

The accommodation was comfortable and clean. The hostess was very friendly and quick to assist where she could. Poor Wi-Fi connectivity. Unfortunately we could hear our neighbours who were extremely noisy. Our stay was over a weekend when there was a music festival and Colesberg was very full. I would have appreciated it if the hostess has let me know of the festival before booking as I may have stayed over in another town. Had they told me on the day that there was a festival and warned me to order food early from the local restaurants, I would have been better prepared. We had to wait over an hour for food.

We only stayed one night. It's perfect for a halfway stop between Gauteng and the Cape. The bed is comfortable and there is everything you need in the room - fridge, microwave and tea/coffee station with a kettle. It's also a place that accommodates pets, which is of course a plus for us.

It is a lovely convenient stop between Cape Town and Johannesburg and we have slept over in both directions. The owner is a very friendly and helpful lady who really cares for her guests. During our first night's stay there were a lot of ants and mosquitoes and we mentioned it to Ronel. She immediately gave attention to it and with our return the problem was solved. The rooms are very basic but clean and spacious. Bed and bedding is really good quality and whitewash clean! There was coffee, milk and sugar available and of course a kettle. The box on which the microwave, kettle, cups, glasses etc. is standing is a little small if you want to make something (eg sandwiches) and there is no alternative area to use for that. There was a loose fan in the room, but in severe heat it might be a little too small and we recommend air conditioning or a strong ceiling fan (the latter will also blow the many mosquitoes away). Furthermore, a fridge is definitely a must for such a room as one would like to have a cold water in summer. If you stay longer than one night it is impossible to, for example, keep milk fresh. Apart from the curtains that are not neatly hanging in the first room, the rooms are tasteful. Perhaps some darker curtains will help with the heat and especially for people who might want to sleep a little later. To us it was right because we only slept one night at a time and wanted to get up early. Secure parking is available behind closed gates and very close to the rooms. I would definitely recommend Mimosa Guest House to our regular travellers who just seek a clean and comfortable bed for one night's sleepover. It's definitely not a holiday destination, but definitely worth the money.
