The hospitality of the hostess and her staff made it very special, upon arrival receiving the most delicious warm home-baked bread with everything that goes with it. Thanks also for all the treats in the fridge. Everything was perfect, I felt really special. The place is private and extremely neat, everything was just perfect. The room is very spacious and the decor is beautiful. The bathroom is a delight and everything is modern and in perfect working order. The beautiful view and farm animals are a bonus. It was an absolutely positive experience. The owner of the guesthouse is incredibly hospitable, helpful and friendly. The guest house is incredibly clean, tidy and a peaceful environment. Self-baked bread is received on arrival, as well as a food package on departure.

Annetjie could not have done more to ensure that I felt instantly welcome at Moments Away, there were complimentary snacks in the fridge (replaced daily) and, on the first afternoon, freshly baked bread rolls arrived as an unexpected but most welcome gesture. The unit was well-appointed, well-decorated, and kept spotless during my stay. Daily load-shedding schedules were timeously communicated. Lots of attention to detail which was noted and appreciated. Moments Away is a tranquil home away from home, set in the countryside. It's peaceful and quiet and offers true country hospitality complete with freshly baked bread the first evening of arrival and a parting muffin for the road. I have not felt this welcome in ages. The cottage is neat and tidy and offers everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We were looked after so well by Annetjie, we can't complain about anything.

Accommodation was very good.
Pleasantly surprised with everything that was in the unit. From yoghurt, milk, cold water and soft drinks in the fridge to delicious coffees, biscuits and muesli in the kitchen. Lovely, strong water pressure and blazing hot bath water. We were welcomed with delicious freshly baked bread and the most pleasant and friendly hostess. Beds sleep extremely comfortably and the decor is made from books. Thank you very much for a very pleasant stay!
I was very impressed with Moments Away Guesthouse. Annetjie's warm, friendly welcome and the freshly baked farm bread were just what we needed when we arrived in Bethal on a cold evening! The cottages are spotless and very comfortable with lovely electric blankets to fight the cold. We expected coffee and tea, but were surprised by the yogurt and muesli that were also provided, as well as the soft drink. And delicious muffins with a personal note were the icing on the cake! The attention to all the details was noticeable and it is clear that Annetjie wants to make her guests feel welcome and special. We will definitely stay at Moments Away again and also recommend the beautiful gem.

Travelling alone on business, I found Moments Away to be an absolute haven where I felt safe and could rest fully after a long day on site. Annetjie and her team offer incredibly neat and serene accommodation, in a beautiful rural setting under shade trees and surrounded by green lawns (my stay was in the rainy summer month of December). You could eat off of just about any surface in the unit, and numerous little treats and luxuries (including freshly baked, warm bread upon arrival; a beautiful little complimentary keyring; a muffin for the road with a thank-you-come-again note on the windscreen early the next morning) made for a very memorable experience. The unit is well kitted out with crisp white bedding on quality furniture. Observations for improvements: While I understand that Moments away is not necessarily catering for business travelers only, one thing that I did miss was a desk to set up a laptop at and WiFi. In addition (and I'm not sure if dinner and breakfast options were offered pre-COVID-19) but an in-house menu or food sourcing/delivery service would also have been very welcome. If I didn't live in Cape Town I would have loved to return with my family to a larger unit and spend some more time at this beautiful highveld guesthouse.
This is a very special place, where the hostess and hostess really go out of their way to make the guest feel important and welcome. There are many small pieces of detail that testify to this, and none more evident than the bonus bread with butter, jam and cheese, as well as all the extras in the fridge. The owner/manager stays on site, and safety is first class. Would highly recommend!

From the moment we walked in until we said goodbye, the surprises never stopped. The exquisiteness of decor and furniture as well as the beautiful braai area that was made available to us is simply unbeatable. The only negative point is something the host and hostess can do little about. The roads around Bethal are in worse condition than I have ever seen and experienced in my life.

Sitting outside and enjoying your tea whilst the wild rabbits hop around and Guinea Fowl put on a beautiful show, just made my day. Will definitely be going back when we are next in Bethal.

Very well welcomed by Annetjie, just with a warm baked pot of bread with everything that goes with it and some freshly baked pancakes went well with the rain again on my arrival. Very neat and big unit and also very private. Annetjie really went the extra mile to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The road to the guest house was not too good just because of the lot of rain. I will stay there any time I'm in Bethal or surroundings again.

I actually want to write an essay and not a review. There are so many great things to say about Moments Away Guesthouse. In short: peaceful, neat farm yard outside and inside; not even the most critical guest will be able to find fault! The customer service and cremations and where you look was the icing on the cake!
We have stayed here before and each time was very nice. Annetjie made us feel very welcome and at home, it is peaceful and quiet, you can relax and chat, it is also not far from shops so if you forget something you can quickly drive and go shopping. The places are very clean and tidy.

I haven't had such an experience in a long time. The hostess looks at you carefully and pays attention to the finest detail. The room I stayed in was clean, tidy, equipped and private. The sandwich was of course top notch and all the other treats were unexpected but delicious. I definitely want to return again, but this time for a relaxing event and not work so that I can appreciate the guest house and surroundings more and the lovely quiet farm atmosphere!

I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I made the reservation. I received a personal welcome via WhatsApp, not computer generated. When I arrived at the guest house, I received a warm welcome, showed the room, it's actually a small apartment. What impressed me the most was the level of customer service, the little things like the freshly baked bread, butter, cheese, selection of jams in the kitchen. I didn't expect anything from this, found a chocolate in the bedroom, when I left I got a hot drink and a muffin for the road, in personal packaging, again the detail. I travel a lot and stay at various hotels and guesthouses. It was the first time I experienced this truly remarkable hospitality.

Freshly baked bread on our kitchen table with butter and jam, delicious cuppacinos and chocolate, towels on our bed, use of beautiful inside braai area, takeaway coffee the next morning, no issues with early check-out. For us as an engaged couple it was so special it felt like being on honeymoon. (And we were only in Bethal on business). A wonderful experience from the moment we met the friendly hostess. With our first step into our unit, the smell of freshly baked bread awaited us. The unit is beautiful, comfortable and, seeing that we went on a very cold weekend, nice and warm. We didn't even need an extra blanket for the cold weather! About 2 km out of Bethal, it was very quiet and peaceful but there was not a moment that we felt unsafe. Thank you Annetjie for your hospitality and even the takeaway package when we left on Sunday.
