We had a great stay and switched off. Service is very good. Place is beautiful, peaceful, and by the mountain, a bit out of the hustle and bustle of the upper town. But still close enough if you want to walk around or eat out.
As self-catering, a very small kitchen, but this was no problem for us because we only had to prepare breakfast. Friendly host, nice room furnished with many old things.

This wasn't my first time at Mont Rouge, and it certainly won't be my last. Booking through the website was simple, easy and effortless. The room was comfortable, bathrooms clean and practical. Good value for money. The staff are friendly, accommodating and efficient. The atmosphere in and around the rooms is peaceful, with a breathtaking view of the Rooiberg.
Close enough to Clarens Square, but the dirt road is a little rough for low cars.

Riaan was the perfect host and was available anytime via WhatsApp. We stayed in the Jukebox and had a great time on the porch and had a barbecue. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook yourself. The decor is eclectic and adds to the nice atmosphere. The guest house is located in a quiet area of the town with the most beautiful view of the mountain.

Very nice place for a night's stay over. Only problem was not with the one cottage that had burned down a week before but the space between the cottage and our log cabin. There is not a lot of space at the entrance to the cabin. This was not conveyed on the website and thus the obstructed view of the mountains was not expected.
Mont Rouge is a peaceful location that I've never experienced before. It is peaceful and quiet and separate from other units. I highly recommend it to people that need rest.

The location is ideal. Quiet environment yet close to the eateries and shops you want to visit. On the walking trails of the town! What a pleasant surprise. Would love to see the residence after it is painted as owner plans. A little maintenance inside on walls and outside on the woodwork will make the place outstanding.

Mont Rouge with Riaan at the helm is an escape like few, wonderful view with only the wind through the leaves and chirping birds, we stayed in Hakkuna Matata (big rondavel) for 3 nights. There is so much to do in Clarens that you are hardly at home. Electric gate gives you the freedom to come and go as you please. Well equipped kitchen where we made breakfast every morning, what more could you want than to return on a next trip.
Place was adequate for one night, everything we needed was there.

Riaan was immediately there when we arrived to welcome us and show us around. Everything was neat and clean and beautifully appointed. The apartment has coffee making facilities, a fridge, electric blankets, and a TV with DStv channels. We had a great time. This little place is walking distance from the little town. Unbelievable view from your room. Just one recommendation: Maybe proved milk for the morning coffee. We only got powdered milk. But we bought some milk and kept it in the fridge.
The stay was definitely the best. The extra miles walked, unforgettable.

Good service by Riaan who followed up with us before we arrived. An alternative was offered to us at additional cost as we weren't the only visitors. The host made good recommendations re restaurants and attractions in Clarens.
The Hakuna Matata is wonderfully equipped with a lovely fireplace. A good combination of private rooms with their own bathrooms and spacious open-plan area makes it a good option for a group. Everything was clean and neat with a wonderful view of the mountain and enough safe parking space.
Basic but neat accommodation. They also have a beautifully revamped cottage and chalet. Something for everyone. Affordable and Riaan is very friendly and helpful. Can recommend it.
