16 guests' feedbackThe owner and son were extremely helpful with everything we required and so friendly. We felt very at home at their place and would gladly recommend Namakwa Chalets to friends and family.
Unit C is really too small for two people. It's practically impossible to fit in there with an average amount of luggage. Definitely don't recommend for more than one night. At least everything worked and was clean, thank you. However, our major frustration was the internet access. When free WiFi is advertised as available, one expects high quality WiFi in this day and age. One understands the problems of the countryside with maintenance, etc., but it is not acceptable that the password of a guest is withheld and that the internet could only be used once in the bitter cold on the stoep in front of the office. After that, we simply couldn't get hold of our host again to talk about it. One therefore feels that you have not been treated fairly. Fortunately, we discovered the lovely Wildflower Restaurant in town, where great food, great service and unlimited Wi-Fi are available.
We found the location of Namakwa Chalets perfect for exploring the spectacular Spring floral display, visiting local historical sites and other points of interest.
The place is very small, is not a chalet (A) as advertised, is basically just a very small room with a small bathroom with a small hallway that doubles as a small kitchen. There is only 1 braai place with no equipment, such as no tongs. No extra blankets were available. Just one blanket with a throw, no duvet. For the price we expected more.
What a surprise when we got electric blankets and aircon in our rooms. Was very cold outside, but nice and warm inside. Thank you Mariette and boys!
The place's paint in the bathroom shell off. Of all the places we stayed, this was the worst and everyone's rates were more or less the same.
Take a large garage and divide it into 3 units. Fill it up with all possible things travellers want and you have a small cave in which it is difficult to move around. Enough said.
I thought this would be self catering - room next door was. Only small bar fridge with tray/kettle etc. Room for 2 (I paid for additional person who could not make it) - thank heavens as so small we would have tripped over each other

The area is very peaceful and away from any noise or walk through of people. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are also very neat and offers everything you need. Will definitely be back.
Clean and neat, and suitable enough for a 1 night stay. Just found the rate slightly over-inflated for what was on offer, however understandable since it's flower season. If I had to stay there out of season, I would hope their prices would be adjusted. Thank you, we loved our short stay in Springbok.
The staff was friendly. The chalet is very small and there is only one braai area, but there are three chalets. The parking is not safe.
We got the feeling that the owners squeezed all their extra furniture into the limited space, which makes it even more cramped.
I reckon for an overnight spot the chalets were 100% except for the double bed which is a bit small for us who are used to a bigger one. If you want to stay there and not explore during the day, then the place isn't for you. The walls will collapse around me, I need open spaces and with the cold weather we couldn't really enjoy the evening breeze. We had a nice braai the one evening and it was nice to see the braai had already been cleaned the next morning - thanks.
