The Namaqua Flower Beach Camp is a charming and elegant tented retreat situated along the picturesque Namaqua coastline, just 1 km north of the Groenrivier entrance to the Namaqua National Park. This camp is open during the flower season, when the typically arid region undergoes an extraordinary floral transformation due to the seasonal winter rains over the west coast and interior, creating one of the world's most stunning floral displays.

The camp accommodates up to 30 guests in 15 private luxury suites, each offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean from a private stoep (verandah). These sturdy canvas tents are comfortably furnished and blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, featuring gauze sashes on the windows for added comfort. Each suite includes a queen-size bed that can be converted to twin single beds, adorned with white cotton linen, comfortable pillows, warm duvets, and a spacious dressing area. Every tent is fully en-suite with a hot bucket shower, chemical toilet, washbasin, and towels. Shower gel and shampoo are provided, with hot water heated by a wood-burning donkey system and showers filled by the staff. Electric blankets are available, and a hairdryer can be requested. A tea and coffee basket with rusks is delivered to guests in their tent each morning.

The camp's informal bar, lounge, and dining area are housed in a simply furnished yet beautiful tent, offering an open-air feel that harmonizes with the surrounding environment. Warmth and comfort are provided by scatter cushions, rugs, lamps, gas heaters, and knee blankets. The Namaqua Flower Beach Camp is renowned for its delectable dining experience, featuring delicious breakfasts, wholesome picnic baskets, afternoon tea, and hearty three-course dinners prepared by a private chef in a remote kitchen. Guests can enjoy a nightcap in the lounge after dinner before retiring to their cozy beds, or wake up to tea and coffee served outside their tents to start their day. An outdoor fireside seating area near the bar is perfect for clear, still evenings.

Guests can engage in a variety of activities, including long walks on the beach, flower viewing, visits to the nearby lighthouse and bird hide, mountain biking, road trips, picnics, and sundowners. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, reading, playing board games, or simply chilling are great options. All vehicles are parked in a secure parking area close to the tents.

"Really something special and we met the most interesting people from everywhere."

Can recommend the tented camp. Food and service were excellent. We met many interesting people from other countries and had a great time.

"No directions were given to us. I would never recommend anyone to travel 62 km of dirt road with with no cell phone signal. It was not really glamping. Just nice camping."

The location was nice once we found it, as Natasha failed to communicate with us, or email us directions or the list of suggested items to bring. The tents were comfortable. Showering under a hole in the roof was unpleasant. The picnic basket we ordered never arrived. We had to run around looking for someone to arrange this. The contents was disappointing. High tea was embarrassing. A thin square of vanilla cake about 2 cm by 1 cm with about 1 ml of jam. A few cheese straws and Salami slices folded over. The chef from SALT at Paul Kluwer provided the food. The milk was sour every day.

House rules
- You do not need 4x4 vehicle to access the camp. A normal sedan-type vehicle that can travel on gravel roads will be suitable.
Visitors are, however, encouraged to travel with a 4x4 as this will enhance the experience - although as indicated this is not necessary.
- Visits to Namaqua are self-drive
- Due to the remoteness of the Beach Camp, the camp lights are generator-powered and traditional paraffin lanterns illuminate pathways and tent entrances.
- It is advisable to pack a torch.
- The area is completely remote and electricity is generator driven - generators run from 6:00 to 11:00 and from 15:30 to 22:00 only. Mobiles and cameras can be charged in your tent.
- Hairdryers on request.
- There is a cash bar on site. Please note you are welcome to enjoy drinks that you bring into the camp at your own tent but kindly note that these are not allowed in the Daisy Lounge or the Diner.
- Please note that there are very limited credit card facilities available. Carrying cash is advisable and convenient.
- Limited Wi-Fi is available and only in certain areas.
- No ATM facilities are available in camp.
- No shop is available.
- The closest town is Garies (very small) which is 70 km from camp.
- Please note that the village has no cell phone reception.
- You will need to report to the SANParks office for registration and to pay your Visitor Fees before you enter the camp.
- Travel insurance is advised in case of emergencies whilst travelling in this remote area. TIC is a possible effective and affordable option.
- No pets are allowed.
- No self-catering or braais allowed.
- Flower Camps are only open during the flower season in August & September.

Electric blankets are provided, and a hairdryer is available on request. Early morning tea, coffee and rusks, as well as delicious full English breakfasts, high tea and 3-course dinners are served in the Daisy lounge where a cash bar is also available.
