The Tented Chalets have been designed to take advantage of their beautiful natural setting, while ensuring the guests can enjoy plenty of privacy. All the Tented Chalets come equipped with either a king-size- or twin single beds, an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower and bath or just a shower, tea-and coffee-making facilities, an outside shower and a private deck.
The Ngama Bush House comprises 3 bedrooms and an upstairs loft room, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and an open-plan dining and living area. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath and shower. The second bedroom contains a king-size bed and the third bedroom contains 2 single beds. The upstairs loft room contains 2 single beds The second bathroom contains a shower-over-bath. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and is fitted with a fridge-freezer, stove and oven, microwave, kettle and toaster. The dining area has an 8-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge contains comfortable seating and a TV with a selection of DStv channels. Wi-Fi internet access is available. The house opens to a raised deck with a private pool, sun loungers, and a kettle braai. There is also a shaded garden in front of the house with a firepit braai area.
The Main Lodge area is a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a drink or good book while admiring the bird life around the waterhole. The Main Lodge has a sun deck around a swimming pool for those who just want to sit back, relax and enjoy the African sun. Dinner and breakfast are enjoyed outside on one of the decks or around the fire on a chilly winter’s night. The boma creates a truly memorable atmosphere where guests can enjoy dinner while taking in the sounds of the African bush.

Stay was really good and comfortable. The view was beautiful, and we had a lovely visit from the giraffes.
We enjoyed the privacy, the scenery, and the visit of buffaloes and zebras in the morning. The house needs updates and repairs. Being that the house is in the bush, be aware that there might be insects, frogs, spiders, and geckos inside. The outside shower and some areas in the house had cobwebs.
Als was great. Thanks for the bottle of wine and wood. Sincerely appreciate. Animals came to surprise us at wire! Swimming pool beautifully clean. Would love to be there when frangepanis bloom. Only the road directions are less clear.
Although we received a very warm welcome from Devon and the food was delicious, the accommodation was a disappointment. The photos on the page are misleading and the whole resort needs a serious upgrade. The wooden paths to your tent are broken. The tent's floor has a hump in the middle of the room. The roof of the tents is very dirty and full of spots. However, the linen was beautifully clean and tidy.
Upgrades to the house are needed, the beds do sleep well and the braai facilities are good. Pool is a nice size for laughing and hanging out, and we really enjoyed the porch. There are a few kitchen "tools" that are lacking, such as a roasting pan and bread board. Chairs outside are also no longer 100% comfortable.
Very expensive for what was delivered. The linen was stained and unsightly. The mosquito nets were not clean upon arrival. The kitchen equipment is odds and ends and low quality - bring your own braai tong, knives, and a pot and pan. The oven was dirty and had midges in it. The patio set has two broken seats rendering it not useful. Chairs provided for outside are in a haphazard condition - bring your own camping chairs. The swimming pool was on the greener side. The outside shower was not clean. The roof in the living room leaks when raining. No undercover parking for vehicles. Cracks in walls here and there that need repairing. Two bags of braai wood per day are provided and were appreciated. Plenty of wildlife that comes close to the house (buffalo, giraffe, impala etc. ), and lions from neighbouring camps can be heard at night.
The people were very friendly and the ambience was peaceful.
Awesome setting and food and service was out the box. Devon was an excellent host with excellent staff back up.
All I can say is wow. A true African bush experience. Blessing and Natasha made sure we were comfortable and looked after. I can highly recommend Ngama, and I will be back with my group next year. Excellent. Thank you for an awesome stay.

Place is very centrally located, beautiful surroundings and relaxing just a pity we were there for a weekend, a week would have been perfect.

What an awesome, relaxing long weekend. The staff were pleasant and went out of their way to help us. The food was outstanding. Totally loved the room, had the camping-feel with the comfort of a hotel luxury, had everything that we could have wanted. Had the feel of living in the bush without being inconvenienced and saw plenty of wildlife. Will definitely recommend it and I can't wait to go back.
The bush house was a great place for a getaway weekend. Will definitely recommend it to others and visit again. I recommend taking enough firewood, they provide firewood but you need to ask for it the whole time.

My wife and I spent some time here and we thoroughly enjoyed it, will come again. The service was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms are well-equipped for mosquitoes and very safe. We loved the outdoor shower with zebras and wildebeest all around you. It was an incredible experience and we will go again. There are two things I would like to mention to prospective guests. Go with a vehicle with high ground clearance, the gravel road can damage the undercarriage of your car. If it's very hot, take a cooler bag with drinks. They give you water, but it's room temperature and there was no fridge in our unit. It is a bushveld holiday after all, they do have loads of drinks for sale if you don't want to take your own with. Wonderful accommodation! Give it a try. There aren't that many activities on the premises, but if you like game, there will be more than enough for you to do in and around the area.
Dirt road, so I recommend you drive with a big car if you visit them. Water has no filtration system. The tents do not look like the picture advertised.

We were very kindly received with ice cold drinks. They were so helpful with unpacking and driving to the tent. The tent is very nicely furnished with a king-size bed and bathroom. The food is delicious - we got so fat in the 3 days! It's lovely and peaceful there. There are hiking trails for those who like walking or nice shade trees around the tent and a splash pool outside the restaurant. I recommend the place to everyone who likes nature and silence. That's what we enjoyed the most there! It is close to many attractions such as the boat on the Blyde dam and Kapama Safari Lodge for a game drive. It's breathtaking with a sunrise or sunset! The place is value for money! Feel free to go and experience it yourself.

As we all live very hectic lives, this was just what the doctor ordered! I love the fact that it was in the bush, very relaxing, quiet, but still not too far from the nearest town if you needed retail therapy. The food was great and just all of it was perfect. We can highly recommend this break away in the bush.
We were greeted by the owner and this personal attention was the order of the day for the rest of the time! Delicious food prepared with care! No effort was spared. Devon, the owner, also made sure that all the arrangements regarding our excursions went smoothly. Few guests make it an ideal place to have a quiet, undisturbed holiday!
The rooms are comfortably furnished. I just think an extra blanket would have been welcome in the cold winter weather, luckily we were spoiled with a hot water bag.
Our getaway weekend was absolutely worth it. Walking in the field with the guide was a privilege. His knowledge that he shared was impressive. Food was tasty prepared and staff efficient.

Unfortunately we could only stay one night. Tent equipped with everything one's heart desires. Best is NO cellphone reception, yikes. Well WiFi in the reception areas for the internet addicts. The dinner around the BOMA was top notch. Just too much. Even packed food packs for us because we fell on the road at 05H00 the next morning. They DEFINITELY see me again.

The staff were excellent, friendly, clean and extremely professional. Customer service above all was top class and a wonderful experience. I felt totally safe, especially with the way in which we were taken care of and advised in all areas at all the time. If tranquility and romance is an important factor for you, then this is a great place for that. I enjoyed my stay and felt very welcomed all the time. Devin the founder and owner was extremely helpful and very informative and really went the extra mile to make our stay an absolutely fabulous one!! There are a few areas that I feel could be improved upon with regards to 'value for money" however they are a fairly new establishment, who are already heading in the right direction.
A beautiful and peaceful getaway with excellent and personal service. However, could not lock our unit which is an issue for security even though there is a safe in the unit. There is also no air cooling in the units and the Lowveld's oppressive heat makes it uncomfortable. However, Devon and his wife went out of their way to make our time romantic and special.
Very nice stay/ A few issues: there was no fridge in the tent, there was only a fan and as it gets very hot in Hoedspruit, I'd recommend air-con. It was a bit boring, due to no TV or games being available on-site, and only a swimming pool. However, the food was very good and the staff were very friendly.

Devin and his band were fantastic hosts and provided a romantic atmosphere. The meals were carefully prepared and the accommodation was looked after to the last detail. The tents are luxurious and safe. We went for a morning walk through a part of the reserve... you then realize that you share your living space with giraffe, zebra etc. Share.

It is difficult for South Africans to find affordable accommodation in private game reserves these days as everything is geared for foreign tourists, however Ngama Lodge was within our budget. We couldn't have asked for anything more - it was a wonderful romantic break! The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Highly recommended.

Ngama is beautifully appointed in the heart of the Guernsey Private Reserve. We felt surrounded by an abundance of wild life and the bush. The hospitality and ambiance of the establishment alike was outstanding - we were really treated like royalty and wished we could extend our stay for another week. Ngama will definitely see us again! Very well managed with adequate support throughout the day, but still private and relaxed. An amazing atmosphere with excellent food and wine, but priced very reasonable for the normal man on the street. Certainly a non-negotiable destination for our next trip to the area!
