This spacious cottage can sleep up to 4 guests and comprises two bedrooms and an open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchen. Both bedrooms are en-suite with a choice of extra-length king or twin beds. The main bedroom's en-suite bathroom has a shower and a bath, while the second bedroom's en-suite bathroom only has a shower.
The large lounge, kitchen and dining area is air-conditioned and have a flat-screen TV with full DStv coverage and a DVD player. A large selection of DVDs, books, magazines and board games are available for rainy days. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering purposes and includes a stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine. Wi-Fi access is available on request.
The tiled patio features both gas and wood-burning braai facilities and offers the most wonderful view over the farmlands to Giant's Castle and the Drakensberg Mountains.
A lock-up garage is available for guests and you are assured of a safe and comfortable stay.
The landscape is beautiful, with green rolling hills, dotted with fly-fishing dams. Nottingham Road is also in the heart of the Midlands Meander route with its mix of arts and crafts, coffee shops and restaurants.

We had such a great stay at Notts Cottage. Great location, close to the buzz of the town, but far enough to be peaceful with an amazing view. I would highly recommend, and will definitely be back.

Notts Cottage is one of the best places I've ever stayed. The apartment is spacious, extremely clean and tidy and beautifully furnished. Ivan and Avril provide for load shedding, very cute. They certainly pay attention to the finer details - special coffee, tea, biscuits, milk as well as a variety of priced drinks are available. The view is incredible and it is definitely one of the best places to enjoy your first cup of ground coffee of the day outside. The garage is another bonus. Thank you very much!

What a wonderful experience our stay was! Incredibly neat, beautiful, comfortable, friendly - for sure one of the best equipped accommodations where we have stayed overnight. And the view is a picture! I forgot a spare handbag and the host immediately offered to send it to me by courier. It was a 5 star experience!
Notts Cottage is an absolute gem. We would love to award more than 5 stars if it were possible. Everything was painstakingly neat, the unit was superbly finished and cared for. Everything and more (eg coffee, biscuits, hot chocolate and welcome with a glass of sherry) is provided. It was cool and rainy for a day or two and even for that there were soft blankets on the couches, wall heaters and electric blankets provided. A great place that we recommend with great confidence.
Notts Cottage's location is excellent. Very close to the town, yet so that you feel like you are away from everything. Plekkie is well equipped and whatever you can think of, it is there. Very neat and clean. Will definitely stay at Notts Cottages again and recommend.
Ivan was one of the most helpful, considerate and obliging hosts I think I have ever encountered. To cope with a power outage of 36 hours in the way he did, was absolutely remarkable. The accommodation has everything you could ever need, lacked nothing. My only disappointment was I had to go home. Thanks for a great stay.
Fabulous weekend away in this most beautiful cottage. so well equipped and maintained. Amazing five-star accommodation. Every room was beautiful and Ivan was such a helpful host. Views from the house are spectacular. As South Africa struggles with load shedding it was nice to see that the cottage has fitted lights for this, a small gas stove and flasks to keep water hot. Would definitely recommend this cottage to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. The cottage is located very close to Nottingham Road Town so the location is ideal. Thank you Ivan and Ariel for letting us enjoy your beautiful cottage for the weekend. It was a real “home away from home”.
Clean, tidy with everything you need. WiFi was offered only for small emails and R100/GIG, it's a bit old-fashioned.
Pleasant accommodation for staying indoors, but not a big outside space for children to play; the only negative was that we paid an additional daily rate for an extra bed, but upon arrival, we were told to make the bed ourselves. Also, cottage is not serviced which was not specifically mentioned during the booking process.
The cottage is bigger and even nicer than the pictures show. The master bedroom is massive with top quality bedding and towels. Very neat and well furnished. It is very well located and very peaceful.
Lovely cottage with large rooms and a beautiful view. The cottage was wonderfully warm and "cozy" in the freezing cold weather when we arrived. It is superbly appointed with everything (and more) you will need. The host spoiled us with sherry, biscuits and hot chocolate himself. Will go again for sure!

You will have to look very far and hard to find another such a lovely, beautiful and spacious place for the price. Ivan received us very kindly, heaters already switched on on a cold day, delicious sherry and the most beautiful view greeted us! Everything was incredibly clean, tidy and organized. We really appreciated the cottage, the complimentary coffee, tea etc. to the underfloor heating. Surrounding area is something that every tired soul will appreciate. Ivan was extremely nice and accommodating.

Everything and more in place: Covid rules are more than punctually observed, unit is extremely tidy, well furnished with plenty of space, fittings are above normal standard, lots of information reading material about the area available as well as lots of additional reading material etc, etc. Definitely value for money will stay there again if circumstances permit.

If you are planning to spend some days on the Midlands Meander, do not hesitate to base your visit at Notts Cottage. Your hosts have gone the extra mile to provide everything you would expect as home from home. During a very cold snap, the rooms were cosy and warm with many unexpected little items. I especially enjoyed the fresh roastery coffee and cafetiere along with full instructions on how to brew a really good cup of coffee. Thank you, Ivan.

Accommodation was excellent, everything one needs is there. View was fantastic!
We arrived the day before the time of arrival. Everything was already ready for us. Everything was explained to us nicely and notes were available in the house. The house was clean and everything looked neat. The bedding is usually something that can put me off, but the bedding was of the best quality I have ever experienced. The view is something to look forward to when you go here.
Notts Cottage is the perfect retreat, lovely views of the Drakensberg and the Midlands Meander is easily accessible. The cottage itself has pretty much everything you would need for self catering and is close to some very pleasant restaurants if you want to eat out.

We have stayed in several holiday units over the years and Notts Cottage is by far the best and that includes 5 star hotels! It feels like you are spending the night in someone's luxurious private residence. There is absolutely provision for everything. Everything is top notch, from the linen to the big screen TV etc.

Upon arrival we were welcomed by the friendly owner. All the wall heaters were already on so the place was already nice and warm. Spacious, nicely furnished rooms with more than enough warm blankets for the cool weather. There was even a camping cot that we used for our little one. Beautiful little garden with a nice view. Complimentary sherriment completed the short visit.

Notts Cottage is an excellent place if you are looking for peace and quiet. The cottage is very luxurious and spacious and ideally located close to all the attractions in Nottinghamroad. We will definitely book there again and can wholeheartedly recommend the cottage.
We were warmly welcomed by our hosts Ivan and April. Our accommodation was found to be clean, beautifully furnished and more than comfortable. The setting was found to be peaceful and we had a wonderful view over the farmlands. Attention was also given to providing us with brochures, magazines and other literature relevant to the area which is always wonderful in helping with sightseeing. The cottage is also in a secured setting and ones safety is assured. We would recommend a visit to Notts Cottage.
