213 guests' feedbackIt was a lovely and romantic getaway weekend for our 10-year wedding anniversary in the Mali unit. Tucked away from the world with the most beautiful views. Privacy was lovely. Even our dog enjoyed it.
Positives: Good fencing for pets, the setting is beautiful, the borehole water was great, the linen and cleaning service was excellent. The owner even lent us a hair dryer when we turned in ours. Negatives: The television didn't work and it took time and a couple of visits to sort it out. The TV screen was very small and scratched. There were no aids (rechargeable flashlights or candles) to use during discharge. The couch in the living room is old and dirty. The wooden door in the bedroom does not close tightly, vermin can get in and it can be cold. The shower is very small and uncomfortable, the door does not close tightly and there is no place to put soap and shampoo. It would be nice if there could be hooks in the bathroom for hanging space. The bedside lamp closest to the outside door cannot be used, an extension cord is required. One bedside lamp's bulb had to be replaced. It would have been nice if the outside light on the porch had been nicely cleaned before we occupied the unit.
Unpleasant experience. The advert and the actual cottage are not the same. False advertisement. Hostess unreachable for the duration of the stay.
Most pleasant stay. Unfortunately the New Year's Eve fireworks from the surrounding area disturbed our dogs, but this is hardly the fault of the accommodation.
It's a very nice place and it's very peaceful, but it doesn't offer enough for the amount you pay. Other places also in Magaliesberg whose prices are more or less the same have walking trails and wildlife to see etc. It's not that the place is bad, it's very nice, but not worth the price. And our neighbors played music the first night until early morning which was against the rules.

It was really nice quiet and peaceful, good therapy for the soul. On the negative side, the grill was not completely clean and an important aspect because I took my dog children with me to go on vacation together is not even counting the mess of the previous dogs that were there, which made my dogs not didn't want to do their thing. Animals are just territorial. It would definitely be a plus if it could also be properly cleaned after each visitor's stay. Road was very rough. The peace and quiet was definitely fantastic. Thank you for your great customer service.
The road to the destination is actually better for a taller vehicle. Might just mention that people don't show up there with a small VW Golf. The advertisement referred to full DStv, but there is only Openview, so had to plan for the rugby.
Everything is close by so if you forget something, no problem. We truly enjoyed our stay.

The place is really beautiful inside, very clean, very private and the quietest getaway you can get. Would just recommend that they give directions where the hiking trails are, we couldn't find them at all, all the gates we tried to go out were locked with locks.

The perfect setting for a breakaway is in a strategically located part of the Magaliesberg. The road leading to the venue is slightly challenging but was able to ascend with a standard sedan. Unit 10 had an exceptional view and offered everything we needed. Definitely, a place to revisit for a breakaway.

A wonderful getaway once again. Peaceful and relaxing. All necessities are there. Just be sure not to take the Koster road entrance, stick to Rustenburg road as it is more accessible for all vehicles.
If you are looking for tranquility away from the city lights. Nullarbor Cottages is more than enough to provide you with that. Due to loadshedding, it will be great to bring power bank and some insect repellent, because they will definitely take advantage of the lack of electricity.
The accommodation is great, peaceful, and just what the doctor ordered.
Dirty curtains. Old pillow slips. Not even white. Shower head x 1 was broken. Could not use it at all. Other shower head had so much lime on it, that I had to spend 30 minutes trying to remove as much as possible before taking a shower. Bath was not clean. Certainly didn't look clean. Road to the place was unexpected - didn't know it would be like that. The owner was helpful when we called her about issues with hot water. Was solved quickly and pleasantly.
Bitterly disappointed! The bedding had stains and was burned with cigarettes. The bedside tables were dirty and also burnt, and one lamp was broken as well as the mirror in the room. I would not recommend the place at all!
Peaceful atmosphere just outside Magaliesburg. We could take our brat with us and he could run around the fenced unit and go crazy. Plenty of space outside and doesn't feel cramped. Your own barbecue and small thatched hut at Hornbill where we stayed. There is room to walk the dogs, just ask for directions. Unit has most appliances and utensils. Will definitely go again. The turning road is just a bit sharp (Magaliesburg's side), the dirt road is narrow and you have to watch out for other vehicles. Call Jenny if you get stuck, and she'll bring you wood on her Quadbike.

Cottage was nicely clean and nicely private. Fencing for the dogs was good, large area where the dogs could roam freely. Location was very good, could walk the dogs and explore the area. Will definitely go there again.

It's a very peaceful place, the garden is neat, the bed is comfortable and it's great that there are different swimming pools but the cockroaches that run around so openly and are inside everything make it terribly unpleasant to cook or eat, as well as the roofs that leaks when it rains was such a slight irritation. The photos on your website are old. It wasn't completely unpleasant and with a little effort it could be a lovely place.
This was our second stay at Nullarbor and we will definitely be visiting again.

Nullabor is a gem in a magical setting. It's beautiful and pretty clean and tidy. There has certainly been a lot of attention put into the cottage to make sure it gives a wonderful experience.
A secluded cabin that makes you feel as if you are alone for miles with only the birds' song. Getaway for couples away from city life and back to nature. We will definitely visit again for more bonding time.

Very pleasant place in nature.
Very cute little wooden house. Everything you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city is there. I felt safe. It was a pretty rough dirt road for my little car (but everything came out the other side). I would definitely recommend it!
We stayed in cottage 7, Pula Moon, it was a beautiful small unit with a fireplace inside for the cold nights and mornings. The private, fenced-off garden is very large and our 2 dogs had an amazing time running around it. Our unit was very private and the whole place is quiet and relaxing, it is a great place to get away from the city.
I finished early in the morning. Then there is no hot water at the sink (I did run the water for a long time to give the hot water a chance to come through). The shower's water was like that for 5 min. when hot it also gets cold. I arrived at night. It is difficult to see the signposts. Already from the main road and then also up the dirt path. The plates are small and unobtrusive.
Hostess sorted out the problem we had very quickly and effectively. Very impressed.

It feels like we were left alone in the woods. We did not meet the owners due to Covid. We just walked into the cottage, slept and left. Being from a farm myself, I was quite scared.

Hot tubs and outside showers are a nice bonus. Our unit, Venus, is extremely spacious. Decor may be old-fashioned, but definitely not lived out. Own lapa and braai. Grounds very neat. Access road is fine, especially with the heavy rain on arrival, but I was happy I drove with my bakkie and not my BMW. For an intimate getaway highly recommended.
Before our arrival, Jenny called and said we didn't have to use the unit we booked and gave a choice of two others. The one we chose then was bigger and more comfortable and with a beautiful view. Our plan was to explore the area but then stayed only at Nullabor Cottages for three full days due to the tranquility and natural beauty of the place. On the way back we stopped at another place for a coffee, also a good recommendation from Jenny. Jenny was extremely helpful and always on hand without being a bother. The cleaners and workers were also very friendly and helpful. The access road from the tarmac is quite bad but Jenny warned me about it in advance and recommended that we not come with the Merc SLK. My car is very low and has not scraped anywhere, you just have to drive slowly and carefully. We had a great time at Nullarbor Cottages.
We will only suggest the following: a map indicating where and on which adjacent farms may be walked. It would be good to warn other guests before they book that there are free-roaming (other dogs) on the farm, we were too scared to walk our dog (which was on a leash) on parts of the farm due to other dogs not didn't seem friendly, so we couldn't explore the area nicely with our dog. I would not have booked if I had known. The braai's grill needs an upgrade and the shower water was either scalding hot or ice cold. In SA load shedding is the norm, I would suggest that a schedule of the area's load shedding be provided so that guests can do what needs to be done before load shedding kicks in, instead of guessing what is going on and how long the power will be out . We in Pretoria only get 2 hours of load shedding where we have now found out Magalies get 4.5 hours. Furthermore, the short walking paths, area and cottage were very nice, staff are friendly and reliable and the town is close.
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay in cottage number 3, BudiBudi, at Nullarbor Cottages. The cottage was neat, clean and spacious, the jet spa bath was magical and the surrounding nature was a welcomed delight. We were able to enjoy the pool, the patio and the peace and quiet, while also having the freedom to chat without disturbing the other guests. Although the road in and out was a little tricky (especially in the rain), the foresty views made it quite worth the effort. Overall, it was a lovely retreat and just what we were looking for!

The short dirt road to the lodges was full of loose stones and of course the environment is still very dry. But the tranquility, privacy and neat, clean houses with all possible amenities made up for it. Would have preferred the pools to be a bit cleaner with a Creepy walking through them every now and then. Would have considered a swim then. But otherwise very nice, thank you!
From the main road, the gravel road needs attention. As is that entry point is apparently dangerous.
Mali number 8 is perfect if you want to take your dog with you. The chalet was very clean and the towels were a bonus. The bed also slept great. Everything one needs is provided. It was great to just experience the peace and quiet, no loud music or people shouting. You can really enjoy the silence and the nature. It was a wonderful experience. Can't wait to go back.

It was a lovely relaxing getaway! Hornbill no. 4, was very well appointed and cosy. Our 2 dachshunds enjoyed it just as much, the unit was fenced and they could play around the unit. There is also a large variety of bird life.

My husband and I stayed in 4 Hornbill for a weekend. We took our big dog with us. It was exactly what we wanted - to be in nature, without anything fancy or anything to worry about. Jenny was very helpful and quick to respond to emails. There is endless space to walk the dog, swimming pools when it gets hot and large outdoor braai areas for the evenings. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. For a comfortable, peaceful and blissful getaway, this place is perfect. We will be back for sure.

The road is just really bad.
Unfortunately there was a pop festival close by and we couldn't sleep much. The noise and boom-boom kept on during both nights until 6:00 in the morning! It's not the cottages fault, but would've appreciated it if they warned us in advance. The festivities are apparently held 3 times a year.
On the add online it seems like a lovely place to relax at. However looks can be deceiving. I would say the road is not car friendly, there is no safety at all, you have slide the gate open and close by yourself, we were attending a wedding so when coming back later the night it was a bit of a concern. The add claims to have a king-size bed, however it is only a double bed. There is also a corner bath with jets which was working fine, when starting the jets the water smelled a bit rotten as if the pump was not started in a while. Other wise the unit is neat and clean inside.
Made my reservation months in advance and was looking forward to the weekend getaway. The dirt road off the highway is really meant for a 4x4 vehicle. Not a very good dirt road to Nullarbor Cottages. Don't know if we just picked the wrong unit, but there were a few things wrong after we checked in. The owner came very quickly to make the corrections when we complained about it. The Friday we clocked in was not pleasant, because of the little things that were wrong. I don't like to complain. But thank you very much Jenny for sorting everything out immediately. From Friday night everything was just as I expected. We enjoyed the weekend very much and were rested and calmly returned to civilization after the weekend. Very cute place, peaceful, quiet and private. A lot of effort is made to make your stay pleasant.

Very peaceful and the fact that no children are allowed there helps, just the right place to just chill and do nothing.
There were many globes that did not work. The mattress needs to be replaced, poor mattress.
We had a great time at Nullabor Cottages with our 2 dogs. Our unit was fenced and we were able to walk outside and play with the dogs. There were fireplaces inside and plenty of warm blankets. There was even ice in the freezer and wood in the fireplaces when we arrived. We would definitely recommend them, especially for animal lovers.

It was a very nice getaway, not far from Pretoria. Hidden in the mountains, where no vehicle is heard. Not much to do for children other than to swim, but it was just me and my spouse, and for a romantic getaway for adults it's ideal! Jenny is very helpful, and it was great to go in an hour earlier, as we were in Magaliesburg earlier.

If you are looking for silence, away from the noise of the city - this is definitely the place to be. Clean unit, outdoor shower, pools. And Jenny - she is pleasant. We will definitely go back.

There are few words to sum up the cottage. It was unique. Far from the stage and the noise. But also close to Magalies Stadium. The nature is picturesque. The place is clean, the workers friendly. There is "room service" every day, amazing. We enjoyed it and also because it was pet friendly. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed himself. We will definitely book again for 2018.
It is very peaceful and the perfect place to relax but there is also plenty to see and do in the area. Als was neat, and in working condition, but the structure of the wooden house still needs maintenance. Although the web page says that the pet rule is strictly enforced there are 2 large dogs that come to look after us every night when we have barbecued.

Nullarbor is the best weekend stay-over I have ever had the pleasure of sharing with a dear friend. The cabin was extremely cosy. Shower and bath were amazing. It really is hard to find anything wrong with this place! The wooden construction gives a very loving touch to the place, and the heat from the fireplace envelopes you in a blanket of happy.

My partner and I went there for the weekend and I must say I was impressed with the cottage. It was homey. The only thing is it was cold and there was not enough firewood but cuddling and bonding with my significant other was well worth it. I will be sure to visit again in the summer. We stayed in the fifth unit, Lizzy Lodge, and had everything that you would need. Very clean. Nice outdoor shower and Jacuzzi was a winner. Kitchen has all of the equipment that you will need, including a gas bottle for when the power goes out. Very private, braai is cleaned every morning. The owner is very hospitable and friendly. The nature around the lodge is picture perfect. My wife and I enjoyed it a lot and will definitely go back again. Nice for a weekend. Value for money and close to everything.

Everything one would need except for air conditioning. I think it would be lovely in the winter time with the fireplace in the house. Enjoyed it because it only provides for couples. Would stay here again. The road didn't bother us since our vehicle was suitable for it.

The cabin was great and the fact that we had out own braai and lapa area was a huge upside. There is an outdoor shower, and a great spa bath. All in all, a good experience. The road to the lodge may be a small challenge for those with cars that are a little low.

We had a very restful and peaceful stay at Nullarbor, the cottages are comfortable and clean. Even though the cottages are not so far apart, you don't even notice your neighbours because of the lush gardens and well designed cottage postions. The only downfall is the 2 km gravel road travelling to the cottages, otherwise we will definitely be back - maybe next time with a 4x4.

You can expect a wonderfully peaceful and quiet weekend at Nullarbor Cottages. Warm fireplaces as well as walking and cycling in the area make it great to go here for a break.
The place is hidden in the beautiful Magaliesberge - with the special view over the town as well as the stars in the evening. We just hung out there the whole time, in the little house by the fireplace and then outside by the fire while we barbecued. Clean - and that's saying a lot. Just had trouble getting wood at reception -- not sure where it was located. So take extra wood with you when visiting during a cold weekend.
My week staying in Nullabor Cottages was absolutely a rest for my soul. Everything was neat, clean. Jenny went out of her way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Definitely going back as soon as I get a chance.

The nature and beautiful manicured surroundings offer peace and quiet...yet it is close to attractions. Nullarbor is extremely suitable for the purpose they strive for and that is to welcome guests, our age, who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life, to just come and relax in a beautiful well-kept and natural environment. My suggestion, if someone is in the advertising business, is that they communicate with the people and businesses of the area. You should keep each other's cards and leaflets and refer them over and over again, that way more people will know about everything. As with our arrival, all the leaflets and reference points of interest should have been lying by the key, so that you could see what was available in the area.

Self-catering accommodation is provided in 10 beautifully appointed luxury wooden or brick cottages, with magnificent views and well-maintained gardens, and sharing 3 swimming pools. The cottages are designed for 2 adults to share and ensure tranquillity and a romantic atmosphere.
Each cottage has either a queen-size or a king-size bed, its own bathroom, large flat-screen TV and guests should bring their own decoder or Netflix connection, as well as a fully fitted kitchen equipped with a microwave, fridge-freezer combination, and all necessary equipment for self-catering purposes. All of the cottages have open log fireplaces for cozy winter evenings with electric blankets on the beds to keep you warm. Fans are provided for hot summer days however, there is no air-conditioning.
Outside is a thatch Lapa adjacent to each unit, featuring a patio and a private braai area, as well as covered parking.
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement and at a nominal extra charge in cottages 4 Hornbill Lodge, 7 Pula, 8 Mali, 9 Venus and 10 So HobGoblin, only as these are individually fenced. This rule is strictly enforced and pets will not be allowed in un-fenced cottages. The pet policy must be adhered to.
