Our 4 lovingly decorated Cottages and Rondavels are the perfect accommodation for a small group of family or friends. Wake up watching Zebra, Giraffe and Wildebeest grazing around the Lodge!
The farm is in a stunning setting and offers great self-guided game and bird viewing walks as well as horse- and pony rides (by prior arrangement please!). There are plenty of things to do and recreational facilities in the nearby area like Zip-lining, Hunting Safaris, Elephant Rides, Quad Trails, Fishing at Mokolo Dam, Marakele National Park (Big 5), D'Nyala Game & Nature Reserve or visit one of the local little towns which offer a variety of shopping opportunities and restaurants.
Olievenhoutsrus is also conveniently situated en-route to Botswana, which makes it the perfect stop-over for the overland camper. For these adventurers we have a Bushveld Camp-site with running water (heated via donkey). This site is tucked away in the bushveld separate from the Main Lodge. A fantastic place to view the many game species! Ablutions include: flushing toilet/shower and two basins as well as an outdoor dishwashing facility. There is also a boma area with braai pit.
We have 2x cosy Rondavels (each sleeps 2) which are furnished with a double bed, en suite bathroom, an open-plan lounge with TV, fan and kitchenette (fridge/microwave/coffee tray) as well as a patio with braai. If necessary a sleeper couch can be provided in the lounge to accommodate small children.
There is 1x Family Cottage with 3 bedrooms (main bedroom with double bed and two rooms each with two single beds), a split-bathroom, separate toilet, an open-plan lounge with TV and kitchen area with fridge/microwave/coffee&tea tray/oven&stove combo. This unit sleeps 6.
The second Family Cottage has 2 bedrooms (main bedroom with double bed, 2nd bedroom with 2x single or bunkbed), bathroom, an open-plan lounge with TV/kitchen/dinning area (fridge/microwave/coffee&tea tray/oven&stove combo). This unit has a private garden area with patio and braai.

The feel life from the top shelves. It's peaceful and 1000% met my expectations.
Friendly reception on game farm near Vaalwater. Our Hostess was kind enough to make us barbecue packets, barbecue bread and salad as we were unprepared for the slightly remote location. There are no restaurants close to the farm and breakfast is not available on site either. The rondavel was well equipped and clean. We could watch the rugby in the communal lapa as MNet was not available in the rooms. Thank you very much for a very comfortable LekkeSlaap. We would be happy to recommend you!

We had the best time at Olievenhoutsrus, it's a peaceful atmosphere and you can rest well. The chalet is clean and tidy and the safety is top notch.
Olienhoutrus is a beautiful place in the heart of the forest. Place is clean comfortable easy to find. Even with a motorcycle! Zacharia received us very kindly and professionally and immediately made us feel at home. Braai wood is available on site. Kwaggas Giraffes and blue wildebeest graze around the camp! Will or will stay there again for sure.

We were comfortable and well-catered for. The owners were friendly and professional. The bird-life added interest and the garden environment was restful. We only needed over-night accommodation, but we would consider it for a weekend, and bring a party of friends.
We were made to feel incredibly welcome by the owners of the establishment. The accommodation was neat and decorated to a high standard. Leisure activities were provided for the children. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

The ground floor and bathroom is wheel-chair friendly! The spacious 'Hide' upstairs is accessible via an external staircase, offering large canvas windows to view game during the day and night. This room can easily sleep an additional 4 guests on Fouton couches. For guests sleeping upstairs, there is a separate bathroom (with bathtub) downstairs, which is accessible from the outside. Sorry the upstairs section is not suitable for the elderly or for children without adult supervision! Please note that if you book this unit, both storeys will be exclusively yours and you will not have to share with any other guests!
