Enjoy the breathtaking sunset from the western horizon with the famous Coleskop visible from the caravan park and guest house, and a peaceful garden to relax in. Other facilities include indoor and outdoor barbecue facilities, lock-up parking, 24-hour service. We are also pet friendly.
The 19 available rooms range from double rooms and family rooms, to chalets and a Budget unit. - We cater for every travel type out there, and have also just implemented a breakfast and dinner - which is available as an additional fee upon arrival, when requested.

We have stayed at Onze Rust Guest House & Caravanpark a few times and service has once again been great.
The best service and help. I could have my dog with me and the place was clean and tidy and well laid out. Will stay there again.
Very nice stay. Hospitably received and delicious plate of food enjoyed right in the room after a long day on the road.
I slept comfortably, but the place was extremely small for 2 people. Compared to other sleepovers at the same price, I would say it was not value for money. I would not recommend the guest house.

A handy mid way stopover.
The staff at Onze Rust are helpful and friendly. The site is safe and we had a good rest. The rates were market related and we will use Onze Rust again when we pass through to Cape Town.

Quiet and comfortable living unit. Fridge has a large enough freezer section, could re-freeze "icebricks" for next day's ride.
There are braai facilities in the photos but there are no grills to braai on, the rooms are so hot that the fan provided does absolutely nothing, the pillows are as thin as paper and the beds when not moving are rock hard, didn't really have a good night's rest.
My two adult sons and I stayed in family room 5. Great air cooling. Neat bathroom. Room not very private as it is located by the dining hall and bar/games room. If we talk in our room other guests hear us. The dinner and one drink cost approximately R160 p.p. costed I would rather stay in a chalet again next time, like before.
A very nice overnight facility. The accommodation was a bit cramped, but met all our needs.

The place was very neat, but unfortunately the power was off about an hour after our arrival and no one came to say anything or come to ask if we needed lights or anything. There is only a microwave, kettle and fridge with beds that do meet one's needs if you are just looking for a place to rest for the night.

We arrived tired in Colesberg, a nice hot shower, a warm welcome, a good barbecue and a peaceful night. Definitely what the doctor ordered, give it a try, it's ideal for an overnight stay.
Basic self catering as expected. We were given a room leading off the bar area, thankfully it was not in operation.
The place is very neat, but for the price I feel they could have some kitchenware like knives and forks and plates. They have a braai there, but only a kettle and coffee cups. So you can't really use the grill, and maybe a microwave.
It was absolutely a great privilege to sleep there and very affordable with all amenities. Will definitely stay there again.
Need was only overnight and further travel. Fit the purpose well. Amenities are basic, one room facility with toilet facilities outside the unit as part of the caravan park. Purpose of the visit well served.

We did struggle to sleep the first night as it was windy and something was blowing around, but the second night we slept very well. The room and bathrooms were very neat and clean and we felt safe and welcome.
I stayed at Onze Rust during my recent round trip to and from the Eastern Cape. A cute little place that is well located. It was just right for nice quiet traffic and sleep (all I needed to recharge so I could tackle the rest of the long drive). A bit stingy with the coffee (only 2 bags) and no tea either. Everything else was fine.
Just a pity the ablution facilities are a bit far away - especially if you have to get up at night to use the bathroom!

We slept well in general, but we were very tired. Beds are actually a bit hard. Coffee facilities right by the bathroom and toilet doors - bit weird. There are cats in the yard and I'm a cat person, but then there were quite a few bird feathers under the double bed so how did this happen? Slept in room for 4, but it's very cramped. Little walking space! Looks like it should only be a room for 2. Would recommend but not for more than one night.

The booking was not clear about shared ablution facilities, but upon arrival we were able to upgrade to a suitable facility without difficulty.

The night manager may have to please only one better explain to get to the guest house. We spent about 20 minutes just getting there. The directions take you to one gate and the guest house is on another side. He said drive right right and right. Actually it is drive down the street to the very bottom turn right drive down to the next block and then right again up the street. This will definitely help them indicate better. Other than that, everything was perfect.
The reception upon our arrival was friendly, prompt and helpful. The facilities as generally neat and clean. We were able to make our way to and into our accommodation for the night without any delays. Despite an outside temperature of - 3.5 degrees, the facilities available were sufficient to let us relax wonderfully warm and enjoy a good night's rest. Apart from uncertainty as to whether security is sufficient, Onze Rust is recommended with confidence.
Go stay there, you won't regret it.

Bathroom sliding door can't be opened from the inside, also door loose on slider, can't close properly, no mirror above sink, men can't shave without a mirror!
Window trim loose, small fan with no 2-point plug. No water near room, kettle doesn't even put water in. Bed uncomfortable.
What kind people, changed our booking day without hesitation, charge or question. Took our freezer things and put them in their private freezer overnight. Even if accommodation is budget, a small bar fridge will help. Plates, knives and forks supplied, but nowhere to put food. Mattress is dead, needs to be replaced.
The place only had 4 beds. No fridge or bathroom. The ablution facilities were clean. Would have been good to have a tub to bathe baby in the bathrooms.

Onze Rust accommodation is good value for money. Clean and neat with everything needed. The air conditioning was a pleasant benefit. Slept wonderfully and well rested for the rest of our trip.
We were not happy with the unit. Buildings were too close together. Toilets are too far. I had a child that is being potty trained and I had to walk so far in the evening. I suggest people with dogs should be moved to another section. The rooms were hot with only a small fan that did not do much - there were bugs in the bed. There was no restaurant on site, owner stated he tried to call to arrange dinner, but no. I will not use this place again for my stay or recommend it to anyone. The cover picture is not what the place looked like.

My friend and I booked a room with two single beds. When we arrived they gave us a double bed. You can imagine for yourselves what it must feel like for two heterosexual men to sleep on the same bed. It's such a critical error.
Everything is great. All that is missing is a bar fridge.

The chalet is very small, but with a shower, toilet, microwave, kettle and fridge it is suitable for 2 people who want to spend the night. The double bed was comfortable with crisp clean linen. Parking was opposite the chalet, very safe and convenient. The TV worked fine. We did not use the braai facilities, but they are private and adequate.
Arrived from Mossel Bay at 22:00 that evening. Person picked us up personally because we weren't sure how to get there. Lovely, clean room and bathroom. Will definitely use it again. Our 2 dogs were also welcome.

It's quite small for 4 people to sleep in, yet neat. I would recommend that each unit at least have 1 bar fridge and a two plate stove.

We are completely satisfied with Onze Rust. It is a cute little place, with a neat ablution block. It is not modern at all and is a really basic place. It is perfectly suitable if you just want to spend the night when you are travelling. You can check out at any time by entering the code on the gate (which changes regularly for security reasons) and then dropping your key into the box - so you can drive whenever you want.
With all the New Year's noise in town, we didn't hear anything. It was peaceful and calm. Clean and tidy, good service.

We just wanted to sleep over on the way to Natal and again on the way back to the Cape - without paying a farm's money! Onze Rust completely met our requirements. During our overnight stay on the way back, two other guests started an argument. I mentioned it to one of the ladies - and it was sorted out by her husband in two minutes. I was hugely impressed.
Room has no window. Very stuffy! Air conditioner is essential. We had to sleep with the door open for fresh air. Bathroom's window is by the dining room - no fresh air.
We cannot complain about the accommodation, it was above average. What did leave a bitter taste was that in the description it is said that there is a restaurant and dinner, breakfast can be ordered, but what is not said is that the restaurant is only active in peak season. It was quite a disappointment when we got there tired just after 18:00 and couldn't order any food. They did bring us something from town, but only much later and at extra cost. This would not have been a problem if we had known about it in advance. Then we would have arrived there prepared.
"Halfway" to Cape Town you want to relax and rest, not necessarily barbecue or anything like that! The place was ideal, quiet and safe.

I have stayed at several places with my family. These facilities are simply the best for the price I paid. We slept in a 5 bedroom, we were comfortable and everything was so comfortable and very clean. From the fridge to the microwave was really a plus. I have already recommended Onze Rust to all my friends and wish you all the best. I will definitely use Onze Rust's facilities again.

It was inconvenient. Unfriendly staff, no facilities in rooms, no fridge or microwave oven. Everyone always has something to warm up or cake drink to keep cold. Rear window has no curtain.
The owners/staff of Onze Rust Guest House & Caravanpark are so professional, friendly and helpful, especially in times of need. We got in a car accident during our stay in Langebaan and the great communication between us, Onze Rust and LekkeSlaap made it possible for us to get back home. We really appreciated their help and they way they accommodated us. On arrival we were asked how we were, which meant a lot to us. Our reception was warm and friendly. The ablution facilities were neat.
Due to circumstances beyond our control with the fires in Knysna, they were willing to accommodate us a day earlier and open up very late for us. It was extremely cold and the accommodation we had was child-friendly and very cosy. I will stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
The people at reception and staff are very unfriendly and unorganised. Their facility is skimpy and does not even provide the basic necessities - the hot water in the shower is hot for 10 seconds and then ice cold. The place is dirty and the appliances do not work properly. i wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
If you like a room the size of a postage stamp where the communal ablution facilities are more than 50 meters away without hot water and where your tablet's screen is bigger than the TV in your room and a room where there is no mirror to use for makeup or blow drying hair, these facilities will suit you perfectly.

We booked for 3 and would've slept in the guest house. There was a braai area in the main house, but then you'd have to braai in front of other people. So the owner took us to another unit with two connected rooms. We had our own braai area and could sit on the veranda without bothering anyone. Onze Rust is a great, peaceful place, and very safe too.

Room and ablutions were very clean and neat. We didn't sleep well because of the heat and the fact that our chalets had no air-con or at least a ceiling fan though. Please install a form of cooling in the rooms. We had to sleep with our door open and woke up every 5 minutes because we were scared someone would come inside.
The only thing definitely missing is an air conditioner. It was very hot, cold shower didn't help either, nobody slept because the heat. Everyone was drenched in sweat, the fan didn't help because the humidity that was so high.

The one problem was the person who was supposed to come with me had a death in the family and I couldn't get my money back for her stay. Other than that, no problems. Thank you very much. I got value for my money.

We got excellent service and for overnight stay we got our money's worth. The room and ablutions were clean and functional.

We got no sleep. My husband is a light sleeper and he couldn't sleep there at all. The trucks roar all night until the early hours of the morning. You can hear all the traffic on the N1 as well as through town at night. Would not recommend the place at all for light sleepers or people who have trouble sleeping. We made other booking at dam for return and got no refund for our cancellation at "Onze Rust guest house" because we didn't give 6 days notice but 7 days but where we were there was no signal.
I would recommend that you provide better directions as you enter.
The owner was rude and reminded me of my sergeant-major from my army days. My first stay there was okay, but the second time ensured it would be my last.

An affordable and comfortable place to stay with friendly service.
I would not recommend Onze Rust at all, especially since we have already booked our next stay with Onze Rust and the owner refuses to refund us after email correspondence with him. My wife and her brother's child along with 6 dogs received a small warm room. The room is so small there is probably only 50 cm between the bottom of the bed and the end of the room. And many small windows in the walls; it was like a baking oven. Also no water available when we arrived in temperatures of 36+, the dogs were dehydrated. The unit also against the road which is busy all the time. We decided to book other accommodation and it was 1000% better where we stayed then, quite at a cheaper rate, with en-suite bathroom.
The room was very hot and the fan didn't work or help. And due to the closeness of the toilets and the constant movement we didn't get much sleep.
Very peaceful and restful stay after a long journey from Cape Town. Will use again when travelling to and from Pretoria to Cape Town.
Consider putting decent fans or air conditioning in the rooms. It's uncomfortably hot in the rooms. Our fridge didn't work so we had to throw away some of the stuff we brought because it didn't cool.
I am very appreciative of the owner that they were willing to move our reservation due to illness. I could see the people working hard to make their place a success.

Good value for money as an overnight stop. Air conditioning would help a lot, but it would probably affect the price.
When booking we specifically asked about bathrooms. Bathroom down the hall. Not adjacent to room. Room is suitable for single bed - there is a double bed, single bed, small fridge, microwave, 2 tables and mirror box in the room. The room was like a baking oven. Couldn't leave the sliding door open because the room has no fence of any kind to the street. If this was my first booking on LekkeSlaap I would never use this establishment again. Fortunately, other places to stay booked by them are much better.

I moved from Pretoria to Stellenbosch and just needed a place to sleep for the night. It also had to be pet friendly. Upon my arrival I was kindly received and escorted to my chalet. The chalet was ideal for my purposes with all the amenities one would expect and it was beautifully clean. Although dinner and breakfast were available, I preferred to eat in town, because I know the owner of one of the hangouts since our student days. I was very impressed with the service and facilities at Onze Rust and would recommend it anytime for the same purposes.
Excellent, but something could be done against the hot Karoo sun. Air conditioning will not work because the rooms are too small and it will not be economical. I suggest you install sun shades in front of the windows and maybe treat the corrugated iron roofs with white ceramic paint. Meals and food are very good.
We only slept over one night on the way to Oudtshoorn, but were very satisfied.
Not satisfied at all. Asked for guest house room, not Chalet as I was traveling alone. Payment was made and upon arrival they didn't really know about me. As a frequent traveler, bedding is very important to me. Blue winter pillowcases, beige bottom sheet, white top sheet are not acceptable to me. Checked for other accommodations.
We were well received and were surprised to get just 2 rooms instead of 1 for the 5 of us, at no extra cost. Everything was immaculately clean and the grounds felt really safe. I would definitely recommend it for an excellent overnight destination.

We booked a self-catering unit and we had to honk and honk before a lady finally appeared to talk to us through the fence. She wanted to know if we discussed, where, when, etc. Then she sent us back to the office. The lady told me we were "lucky" because we got a nice five bed and it was only a short walk to the ablution blocks. I told her that we expected to be close to it, then she told me, "Well, you booked the cheapest." It made me see red! She was curt and blunt throughout. I explained to her that it wasn't going to work for us and she said then we had to give her another R100 then she would put us in one of the guest rooms with its own bathroom, she then wrote on my copy "Paid R380" and I then asked where her documents were for our reservation, which she then scratched everywhere and couldn't find! She then shoved the R100 into her jean pocket. I then ask her if I please could get a receipt for the extra R100 I paid, then she took out a little book from under the counter and wrote it for me. We had to ASK to pull our car in behind a gate and not leave it outside in the street. She was quite upset because we wanted to park inside. The worst was the room! About 3m², a double bed with a small shelf built into the corner with a small microwave oven and underneath a small fridge that was so packed that my "ice packs" didn't even want to freeze! My husband is diabetic and I have to keep his insulin cold! The toilet and shower corner are so small that one cannot dry off inside. The shower was stained brown on the inside of the glass panels so dirty it was! The towels were rock hard from old soap! My old man only dared to put on the towel, because ours was packed too deep and then the thing smelled really sour and musty. We were terribly upset. There was an old hand cream bottle and empty tissue box in the bathroom which I found creepy, I certainly don't use other people's (cheap leftover) junk! The icing on the cake was the wooden door (there is a sliding glass door at the entrance) which seems to lead to the kitchen/dining area through which there is a din of chatter, laughter, dishes, glasses etc. wash. Afterwards we turned the small TV in the room extra loud to see if we could ignore it, but it was impossible. We just lay on our own blanket and pillows on top of their bed, because after those dirty towels we didn't feel comfortable with their bedding. We have evidence to back up all our complaints. Oh no, you have cheated us horribly and insulted Onze Rust! We love LekkeSlaap and it's nowhere near the standard and service we've been spoiled with so far!
A very convenient stop over from Joburg to George. The bungalow was very comfortable. Unfortunately we were informed there was no bathroom and therefore had to use the ablution block, which was spotlesssly clean.
Our group overnighted en route to Baboons Pass in Lesotho. Ideal spot, well located, group very happy. Quiet and comfortable.
The accommodation was very basic, but good.
The first night strange with bathroom away from sleeping place. Second night upgraded to the house which was much better.

We arrived late from Gauteng, but people were helpful and helped us quickly and kindly. We left early again and the people were already up to help.
We were on our way to Mossel Bay and Onze Rust was the perfect halfway stop. Nice quiet and peaceful. Divine steaks for dinner!
We were received very hospitably and even called before we arrived to hear if we wanted to enjoy dinner there and told us what was on the menu. The owners are friendly and helpful no matter what the need or expectation is. We will definitely stay there again when we travel through Colesberg again.

The place was very neat and we had a good night's rest. It's just terribly hot, I might recommend that they put in air conditioning because Colesberg is such a hot place in the summer.
We were 11 people who slept over. Each of the 4 units we rented was very neat and clean. The service was friendly and very helpful. We had a great barbecue and had a good time.
It's an ideal setting, also well kept ablutions clean and tidy. Will definitely use again!
Good price, but the rooms are not child friendly. The cutlery, glasses and grill were dirty. No night watch as indicated.
Accommodation was clean and tidy. Guests in the adjoining rooms were very noisy, but that's not the resort's fault. Will use the service again and recommend it to others.
Too many guests with too few ablution facilities. The rooms have no security doors and are incredibly hot due to the sun that shines on it all day. There are no fans or any cooling in the rooms. Rooms have kettles with coffee in them, however there are no taps near the rooms. Couldn't even shower properly, only two showers for men and two for ladies. In addition, the hot water is too little and we had to take a cold shower at 5 in the morning.
Will come back again if we pass by here. Had everything we needed.
Neat rooms and friendly service.
We had a nice stay. However, we were a bit disappointed with our dinner. There wasn't even salt and pepper on the table.
Room was very neat, furnished with a fridge and microwave oven. The fan was a bonus, as it was terribly hot.
With the contractors staying there, the men's bathrooms are not adequate. It is also too far from the rooms.
Well rested for the next day.

The guest house has 19 rooms which can accommodate around 58 people, while our caravans and tent camp sites have 25 stands between them. Enjoy the breathtaking sunset from the western horizon with the famous Coleskop visible from the caravan park and guest house, and a peaceful garden to relax in. Other facilities include indoor and outdoor barbecue facilities, lock-up parking, 24-hour service. We are also pet friendly.
The 19 available rooms range from double rooms and family rooms, to chalets and a Budget unit. - We cater for every travel type out there, and have also just implemented a breakfast and dinner - which is available as an additional fee upon arrival, when requested.
Our rooms - includes a TV, cutlery and plates, a bar fridge, coffee and tea making station and a microwave. Budget rooms only have tv, cutlery and plate and coffee and tea making station.
The bungalows and budget rooms are situated in the caravan park and as such, share the communal ablution centre.
