We had a very nice stay.
Uncle is an absolute host and nothing was too much trouble for him. The house was very neat and you get a lot of space for a good price. The big advantage is being only 30 minutes away from the nearest waterfalls/tourist attractions. The accommodation costs are tied to the number of people per night rather than a fixed price for the house per night (which can be very beneficial). There is covered parking and a car gate. Nice view of the large lawn from the backyard and parking area.

We only stayed one night but had a really nice time. There is a lot to do around Oom Gawie's place - very close to town but far enough to be very peaceful. Next time we will stay longer and do more! Very neat and safe! Friendly welcome. Would recommend it! Everything you need.
The house had lots of beds, even the living area had beds and no sofas. The kitchen was way too small and it only had one frying pan.

Oom Gawie's name fits his personality perfectly. Uncle Gawie is incredibly friendly and helpful and it was a feast to stay there. The house speaks volumes of Uncle Gawie's character, it feels like you are visiting your grandma and grandpa again and everything is just comfortable and you feel at home. Everything is nice clean and tidy, very comfortable and central to all attractions. Uncle Gawie went out of his way to show us the place and make things nice for our boy too. Our 18-month-old boy was kept busy with the outdoor life and amenities that Oom Gawie made available. Large areas inside the house and large areas outside with cute play areas for the children. Thank you Uncle Gawie, we will definitely visit again!

The units were spacious and tidy. There is a very large reception area with tables and chairs that everyone can use with enough seating for probably 40 people. We enjoyed it terribly. There were no problems such as lights not working. Very friendly and helpful.
We were there during the illness and then the death of our son. We also recommended our friends and family to Oom Gawie's place. Unfortunately, our family had already booked at another place, but were very disappointed with their accommodation and very impressed with Oom Gawie's Place. They and our friends will definitely use Oom Gawie's Place again. The tranquility was just what we needed after our great loss. Uncle Gawie and his helper, Sara, were just the best. Our little house was cleaned every day and what impressed me the most was that we got clean towels every day. We will definitely go there again and definitely advertise Oom Gawie's Place far and wide.

Uncle Gawie's houses have everything. You really only need to take your clothes and food with you. Furthermore, everything is there. It's so peaceful, beautiful there and you find peace for your soul there. If you go to Sabie, feel free to book in at Oom Gawie's Place.

We had a great time at Oom Gawie's Place. The apartments are safe, beautiful and tidy. Everything we needed while exploring the area during the day and competing in the MacMac Ultra Marathon at the weekend was there.

Uncle Gawie made a unit available at short notice. The units are very neat and clean, with everything you need to spend the night. He went the extra mile to help us get to our starting point for the Fanie Botha hiking trail, as well as allowing us to leave our vehicle there for the few days. We are disappointed because on the website they told us that the accommodation was wheelchair friendly and it wasn't at all. The serves was all right but the person with a disability couldn't function in a normal way.

I long back to our time at Oom Gawie's Place! Fully equipped apartment. The owner has so much passion for what he does. There were menus of the restaurants in the area and numerous leaflets of the attractions and activities, from Sabie, Hazyview, Graskop, etc. The Uncle even has files with printouts from the internet with interesting information. Wonderful!

We've been very disappointed with places to stay in the past because the photos don't do justice to the place itself, but at Oom Gawie's Place we got much more than what was advertised. Uncle Gawie is a people person, who really cares for his guests. It was like a home of its own. In every smallest need, Oom Gawie's place met and exceeded. Here you can dismount, kick off your shoes, let your hair down and really relax. The location is excellent for a visit to many attractions. I would happily recommend Oom Gawie's Place and we plan to go there again one day and take some friends with us to experience Oom Gawie's place for ourselves. Truly a gem of a place.

We were welcomed very kindly and immediately felt at home. The unit we stayed in is very well equipped. We are very impressed with the plenty of storage space for clothing etc. You literally only have to bring your clothes and bathing suits. Uncle Gawie is a wonderful person, very friendly and helpful. We stayed in unit 6 from 28 Dec '13 to 4 Jan '14, and it is very clean and tidy. There is everything you need. The service was excellent and we will stay there again anytime if we have the opportunity again.

Residential units very neat and clean. Everything is carefully planned to make it as comfortable as possible for guests. Braai together and visit with Gawie and Susan is a big plus to chat with guests and get to know them better. You feel safe there and all your goods and equipment in the residential unit are respected. I believe and know that no theft will take place there. To summarize: very nice, cozy and safe and Gawie and Susan are some of the friendliest and most helpful people I have ever met.

This space is too short to DESCRIBE our WONDERFUL WEEKEND. We went to REST... and then stumbled into a School Reunion... what a great weekend it was! The apartment we stayed in was INCREDIBLY well equipped. Everything is there. I recommended to Uncle Gawie and his wife Susan that they contact the Tourism Bureau and have UNCLE GAWIE'S PLACE graduated. I'm sure a few stars could be added to the place's name.
