This fully equipped self-catering house sleeps 6 to 8 guests and children under 2 years of age will be accommodated free of charge. The main bedroom is furnished with 1 double bed and a baby cot, the second and third room has 2 single beds in each as well as cupboards for personal items. Winter linens for beds as well as electric blankets for all beds available. Heating panels in each bedroom and a fireplace in the lounge. There is one bathroom with a toilet, bath, shower over bath and a basin. A second bathroom has a shower, basin and toilet.
The fully equipped kitchen is fitted with a stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge with deepfreeze space, glasses, and crockery. The lounge has plenty of room to socialize with family or to relax and read comfortably. Guests have access to covered parking, the premises is guarded by an alarm for peace of mind, there is Escom electricity and cellphone reception. Gravel road on the way to the farm can be reached with cars. Unfortunately we do not allow pets.
The swimming pool is situated in the garden at the main house where the owner stays - about 120m away from the guest"s house and is only available on request and the owner takes no responsibality for guests when using the swimmingpool. No children allowed when not accompanied by their parents or adults.
Nature lovers can walk,do birdwatching and mountain biking on the farm, as well as fishing in our dam(small boat ) .Children of all ages welcome to bring their own bicycles for fun ride on the farmyard. We also provide a small swimmingpool to use for toddlers in the garden infront of the house. Your hosts, David and Estha will try to make your stay at Oppi-Plaas an unforgettable expierence.

8 guests' feedbackThis discussion started as "somewhere between KZN and the Southern Cape" and ended as the best surprise and discussion ever. Although we only stayed one night, one could definitely get the idea of a farm holiday in the Eastern Cape countryside. The facilities were excellent and the hospitality the best ever.
Easily accessible, we really enjoyed our stay and felt at home. Will definitely visit again.

Comfortable, neat, clean and restored old farm house in a beautiful area where you can rest and relax, but also be close to everything if you have business in Aliwal-North, Lady Grey or Sterkspruit area. Lovely indoor braai, and fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Clean, fresh farm air, beautiful view. As a working farm there are also a few things a city slicker can learn, and with the owners liking to share and show, it could be a life experience for families who have never stayed on a farm before.
Oppi-Plaas met all our expectations. Feel free to try it.!
Estha and Dave are excellent hosts, we phoned ahead and they even went shopping for us because we were on bikes and couldn't carry our groceries.
The host and hostess went out of their way to make the stay and meal enjoyable.
The fully equipped farmhouse ensures that you can sleep and cook well. For us, the lack of a TV was actually a welcome plus. The farm with its sheep and dairy is just the thing for city kids who have always wanted to know where wool, meat, milk and cheese come from! If you might have forgotten something and really need to go into town for shopping, Lady Gray is only 20 km away. The owner and his wife were particularly hospitable and friendly. The little extras (baby bed, inflatable pool and bag of wood) made us feel very much at home. Here at Oppiplaas you can really shake off the city rush, clear your head and get some fresh air. It was a privilege to fall asleep at night with the bleating of the lambs or admire the bright stars and milky way until late at night.
