We enjoyed the evening. It had been quiet. It would be nice if the room was separate from the other rooms with a better entrance. The door struggled to open and close, and the room was dirty behind the bedside tables and in the corners of the bath. It would be nice if the bubble bath worked, but the system was taken out.
Location misleading, bad road, bad smell, no mirror in bathroom, loose taps, site in poor condition and noise until morning hours.
Not at all as promoted! Starting from the location, you have to travel on a dirt road to get there. Once you arrive, there is no buzzer at the gate. Check-in was even worse. The reception is an empty room with a counter. The lady did not even greet us or share a single word with us; she looked shocked to see that people were checking in. She just opened the room doors and left. The rooms did not live up to the description. There were no fridges in the deluxe rooms as advertised. None of the rooms had light bulbs in the lampshades. We found cockroaches in the room. The shower tiles were put on without grouting. Honestly, not impressed at all. We would have stayed somewhere else if we could find a place, but we were a big group of people. We left early the next morning as nobody wanted to stay longer than necessary. The signal in that location was terrible, and there was no WiFi.
The photos of the room were accurate, but the outside area was very neglected and not like the photos on the website.
First place, there is no communication. We got there and they didn't even know about our reservation. It was very dirty (everything), not a place for children, very expensive for pretty much nothing.
No. The pillows had yellow drool stains on them, we could see it through the pillow covers. It was disgusting. We had to ask for another pillow case to cover them. The fan and plugs did not work. The place looks nice on the outside but felt like a truck stop room on the inside. The bathroom also had a funky smell. The bathroom mirror was broken, and the towels had yellow stains on them. The room was overall unclean. This place is definitely not as advertised. The pictures are deceiving, I also did not even see a swimming pool as advertised.
Now it's not the owner's fault, but there was a party until midnight from guests staying over for a wedding the next day, so it wasn't a restful night.
It was very disappointing. The pictures on the website were not at all what you get when you get there. It's literally just a place to sleep, nothing else.
The only thing is to bring a mosquito/flies repellent spray as it is on a farm and there are flies like on any other farm! I'm so happy, I had so much fun, and I'm trying to make up an excuse to go back.
We were traveling back from Cape Town to Johannesburg and needed overnight accommodation. It is located just a bit far from the N1 given that we wanted to reach our overnight destination as soon as possible and get back on the N1 quickly. I expected more from a reception given the impression the photos create on the web. I have stayed overnight at many smaller guest houses where I have always received a welcome reception. The buildings were dark and appeared abandoned. We had to find our way in the dark and first came to what I expected to be the reception area, but there was no life. Someone waved us closer from a distance to indicate where our room was. So there was no reception, just "you sleep here" type of reception. The bedside lamps did not work. I had to plug them in which isn't much of a problem but it didn't work and usually bedside lights are on which makes you feel more welcome. The back door handle was broken. The short dirt road leading to the destination is not maintained, meaning when it is wet, it is a problem for regular passenger vehicles. We almost got stuck twice and I mean the road right by the guest house, not the "national" dirt roads which are also a problem. If you are not familiar with the area, the "local" dirt roads are also a problem and we had to turn off one dirt road to find an alternative route. I am aware of the warning I received on WhatsApp, but I did not know which roads were referred to and the warning was if you are coming from the Johannesburg side. SO it was not sufficient. I am not that familiar with Bloemfontein and I was mistaken with the distance when I looked at the map. So the experience was not positive.
Rhino Creek should be removed from the website.
Difficult place to find and the road is very bad.
Far out of town, with a lot of rain we struggled with our vehicle to get there. The room needs attention.
Rhino Creek is a fantastic overnight stop and we will definitely use it again.
Neat and clean accommodation in rural surroundings. Far from N1. Last part of road not the best.

Overnight just outside town.
My 2 daughters slept over after a long journey, the hostess made sure they got there safely and called me when they arrived and reassured me that they were safe, they are 17 and 18 and as it is, our parents are worried .
Room is totally inadequate for overnight stay.
No hand soap in the bathroom when we arrived (empty container by the sink), the promise that soap would be delivered was never kept. The fan breaks just before we go to sleep, promises of another fan to be brought never materialized either. Bloemfontein is very hot in the summer so it was a hot night with no fan to cool you down. Will not stay there again, customer service is clearly not a priority for Rhino Creek Estate.
A little bit out of town but worth it.
Beautiful and tranquil place. Room is tastefully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. No plates and cutlery and nothing to warm food. Only dustbin is the small bathroom one. Shower handle not working adequately and no space to put soap etc. Door panels rattled all night in the wind. With a few additions and renovations has the potential to be a really super stopover.
Belinda is a fantastic hostess and was very kind to upgrade our rooms. We will stay there again when we are in Bloemfontein.

Air conditioning in the room can help a lot. The road there didn't always feel safe.
The sink in the bathroom should only be attached to the wall. Can easily fall and land on someone's foot. The fan is actually not effective. Would recommend roof fan so both beds can blow cool. The atmosphere was wonderful. Mosquito nets in room will work well.

Had a great stay. Breakfast was delicious. Access to the site does require vehicles with high ground clearance.
No owner or manager bothered to greet me on arrival although they were on site. Being out of town one would have expected at least a lounge/bar but not even a fridge with ice in rooms. TV reception was poor. Safety was a concern as no security gates, no burglar bars on windows. Which resulted in me keeping my doors and windows shut. The breakfast and breakfast setting was very poor. Saving grace was the room and bathroom were clean. I would not recommend this establishment to friends.
We put in a special request around breakfast time and the staff and owner were very lenient to advance the breakfast time for us so that we could get to our commitment early enough. After our day trip we requested to braai that evening and the owner and staff were once again willing to provide us with all the necessary cutlery and braai facilities. We only had to buy our coals and food. Really very friendly environment.
Before we arrived we were rather lost with directions but when we chatted to Francois he was very helpful and managed to find our way. The cottage is very neat and tidy. We were given a upgraded cottage too - this was very kind of them. Will definitely recommend to anyone who is planning on staying within this area.
If it wasn't for Lettie the cleaner and in my opinion the caretaker, I would've asked for a refund like all of the other guests and looked for another place to stay. I feel that breakfast should've been served like it says in the ad, even if there was 30% discount.

The place is not suitable for visitors. It is dilapidated and no one lives on the premises.
Unfortunately, due to the drought, the internet pictures are not realistic. The person in charge of the place is still the salt of the earth. She took great care of us and was always extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean and smelled fresh. The pool was clean and the little ones enjoyed playing in it. For large groups, the setup works well.
Ideal overnight stay. Would have been nice if there were food/restaurant options but we got by. Very accommodating to braai, plates etc. to provide.
We were satisfied with the stay. It was well appointed and comfortable. The shower can get attention (parts of the shower fall out of each other). I should have done better research on the location of the farm. It's completely out of town and no restaurant facilities nearby. We arrived there at 10 o'clock in the evening after first having to look for places where we could eat.

We slept well. Units were neat. When we arrived at 17:00 reception was already closed. Only after I called the owner was someone able to show us our units. The location is very bad! It is very far outside the town and then you drive on dirt roads. There is no restaurant as stated. We had to drive about 30 km to a place to eat. There is no milk to make coffee with. It is not clear whether tap water is drinkable, so no water available for coffee either. The unit had an incredible amount of insects. They were down to the bedclothes. Luckily we had insecticide nearby!
Rhino Creek Estate shows below B/B but does not provide breakfast. If you only want to spend the night, this is the ideal place. A bit far from shops and because they don't provide breakfast, petrol for driving there and back costs a lot. There is also no two plate stove or microwave in the room. I would suggest that they provide breakfast. There are also so many ants that one cannot really sit quietly by the pool.
There was no one but the man with the broom to meet us. No fridge in the room just a fan that sounds like you are flying a helicopter all night. There is tea and coffee in the room.
Finishing needs attention.
The road to the guest house is a long dirt road in a very poor condition. Service was friendly.
Perfect overnight place for one or two nights.
The place looks more attractive on the web-site than it really is. It is not very well situated and part of the road is bad. It is very far from restaurants. The breakfast was prepared OK, but the presentation of everything can receive attention. Definitely not the ideal overnight accommodation.
The place does not look like the pictures. The building and property needs proper attention. The reception wasn't very organised either. Rooms were neat and clean.

There was no decent reception. We never saw the owner or manager. The rooms need maintenance, especially the bathrooms where several faucets, a shower door and sinks were broken and loose. Room was covered with ants. Sorry that dinners are not served. Going to Bloemfontein for dinner was not ideal after a long day on the road.
These are not self-catering units! And there are no barbecue facilities. We were told to pick up sticks in the area if we were interested in barbecuing. They would try to arrange for a braai?! The interior of room very nice. Breakfast was nice. No indication of how to get electronic gate open or leave key when we wanted to leave. No one answered their phones either. Little woman in the kitchen limped to the gate to open it.
The location of the guest house was a nightmare due to the air force base nearby. Our GPS could not work and as a result we got lost. The guest house itself was lovely, clean and the hostess very helpful and friendly.

Friendly welcome by the owners. The accommodation was clean and tidy. May I suggest that a trash can be placed in the room. The small one in the bathroom is not sufficient.

Extremely friendly and helpful management. Not a hard place to find. The Maselspoort road is a nightmare though, the dirt road from the highway has bad corrugated iron in some places. It is quiet and peaceful and away from busy roads. Parking is no problem and close to the rooms. The rooms are neat and clean. There are a few small things: the rooms do not have trash cans, there are no shelves in the shower and you have to put your soap and shampoo on the floor. The breakfast is delicious and we enjoyed the stay.
If you don't like bugs, this is not the place for you... It's a bit far out of town, but wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. Wonderful and friendly service. Will definitely stay there again!
On our way back from holiday, the overnight stay for the weekend was just what we needed, quiet away from it all, but still close enough to make a quick trip to the shops. We will definitely sleep there again!
Our room was very nice and clean. The people are helpful, but the exterior and directions need attention.
One sink's plug does not lift to let water out. Would recommend leaving some biscuits/biscuits to eat for breakfast or on arrival. Two easy chairs would also be an improvement.
Very disorganised but believe their manageress had left unexpectedly. Seems to be a building site at the moment. One of the workers showed us to our room and she was very nice, although out of her depth. There were no drinks in the fridge in the bar and no food available. The rooms were fine, very comfortable. Rhino Creek has great potential once all the alterations have been done to the outside of it. , but at this stage I would not recommend.

Very professional reception.
With the expansions they are doing, it will be one of my favorite places to stay in the future when it is finished. At this point, the price being paid is 10% above what it should be. However, these people try very hard, and succeed in what they try. I see a bright future for them.
