Rhino River Lodge is a Big 5 safari lodge situated along the shore of the Msunduze River in the southern section of the Zululand Rhino Reserve. This 23,000 hectare private game reserve is located in the very heart of Zululand, an area renowned for its African wildlife and rich cultural heritage. The main lounge and dining areas at Rhino River Lodge are set high on the banks of the Msunduze River lined with magnificent Sycamore Fig and Fever Trees. A favourite with all of our guests is spending time in our Boma enjoying an evening cocktail around the campfire, swapping stories of their adventures in the bush. These evenings are a magical part of every guest's experience, taking in the smells of the campfire, the sounds of the African night, and the splendour of an unpolluted starry sky. Our kitchen specializes in offering cuisine that features traditional South African flavours dishes and cooking styles and our wine list has been hand-picked to provide our guests with a selection of some of the finest affordable wines that South Africa has to offer.
The swimming pool offers a welcome respite for guests looking to escape the midday heat or to relax and unwind. Morning and afternoon game drives are included in the tariff. 4 guests' feedbackMany thanks to the team at Rhino River Safari Lodge. You all made our stay very special. It's a lodge without any pretensions. Just hospitality and conviviality and service. Frances took us on trips for 4 days and did her utmost to make it memorable for us. We stayed in the Cottage, with its own pool on the deck. Beautiful! In the evening the lights were on as a welcome when we came back from the afternoon drives. The house was also cleaned after returning from the morning drive. Everyone had a very pleasant stay. We will be back for sure.
The Manager was highly professional both as hostess and administrator. The ranger spared no effort to make the game drives worthwhile. Accommodation was excellent. Overnight stay here is highly recommended.
We had a good time. However, we were provided with the incorrect gate code. So please check the info you supply to your future guests.
Slightly overpriced but in a great location. Opt for a chalet rather than a room.
