We were highly impressed with our stay at Rietjiesbos! We were personally welcomed on our arrival, and greeted again on our departure by Valerie and her husband. The location is prime in town, secure parking behind a controlled gate, and the unit was exactly what we wanted; a bed with sheets and a thin blanket and not just the horrible duvets that everyone suffocates under in the summer! A small kitchen with a not too small fridge, and a beautiful spacious bathroom with a lovely shower which is semi open plan with the sleeping area! This guest house owner certainly understands the need of a one-night overnight traveler on his way from or on his way to the lovely South Cape!
Had a wonderful stay and had a beautiful show of the thunder on the mountains.

Air conditioning in 38 degree C heat was a pain. Beautiful rooms and fragrant herb garden were like an oasis.
What wonderful hosts. It's not easy traveling with a 3-year-old and 5-year-old, however, this place was perfect for our family. Close to a Spar (walking distance) to get snacks for the kids. The rooms had everything you needed. The hosts were knowledgeable and helpful.

The place gets 10 out of 10 and is excellent value for money. All needs are catered for, including small items such as a grab handle in the shower.
There is so much attention to detail in that guest house. Bubblebath, filter coffee, biscuits, enough milk - it's the little things that make a BIG difference.

Good overnight stop to the coast.
We stayed at Rietjiesbos as a midway stop between Gauteng and the Garden Route. Rooms were nicely furnished and well looked after, full DStv available and electric blankets in winter were a big plus!

Would suggest that due to COVID if you cannot supply breakfast that you give a discount or some form of goodwill. Know we are all struggling but need to keep customer confidence up. Very clean and neat and safe parking for the over night stop.

We stayed overnight at Rietjiesbos when we traveled back to Pretoria from Cape Town. We got there in the afternoon after a long day on the road, so the lovely bath and extremely comfortable bed was just what we needed. The room and en suite bathroom were beautiful and had everything we could possibly need. The only bad thing for us was that we were on our way again early the next morning and couldn't stay longer. Next time we go to the Cape again we will definitely stay at Rietjiesbos again, but this time we will probably sleep there for a few nights.

Our neighbors were not noisy, but it can be funny if you accidentally hit it. Valerie is a friendly, helpful hostess. If this is important to travelers, they should note that breakfast is not offered at Rietjiesbos on Sunday mornings. Ask Valerie for pointers to restaurants that do offer it on Sundays.

Rietjiesbos is a jewel in the middle of a lovely Karoo town. The owners are smiling people with a sparkle in their eyes and one cannot but feel home and safe as soon as one arrives. Rietjiesbos is beautiful with a cute character. Silver clean, just smells good. Quiet and safe, but close to shops, garage and restaurants. Delicious breakfast! We would visit there again anytime and would be happy to recommend.

I was travelling on my own as a young guy and I really enjoyed my stay at Rietjiesbos B&B. Even though I only stayed there for one night, I slept like a rose after an awesome night-drive in the Camdeboo National Park that the owners suggested me to do. The room was decorated in a modern style and was therefore nice and fresh. I wish I had a bathroom like theirs at my own place. The breakfast was great and their garden is beautifully filled with flowers and herbs. With the sun shining in the morning I could really enjoy just a coffee on the veranda of my room, watching the garden, mountains and birds while having a nice chat with the owners.
It was indeed a pleasure to stay there. Great hospitality.

Safe, clean and homely and pet-friendly accommodation in a quiet part of Graaff-Reinet. The owner is very helpful. Made recommendation as well as a reservation for us for dinner. Would recommend with great confidence.
Rietjiesbos is nothing short of excellent. It is located in the quieter part of Bourke Street, but still no more than a stone's throw from the town centre. The rooms are more than comfortable and very nicely furnished. One feels more than at home, just special. Valerie is hospitable and kind and she went out of her way to find us a place to eat at her own expense (Polka, which was again excellent). The breakfast was again top notch. We are definitely going to stay there again soon, just for two nights so that we can see the town a bit and we highly recommend this accommodation.

Neat and clean with a fantastic breakfast. Wilfred and Valerie are a great host and wife respectively. Very safe and indoor parking. We will definitely stay here again.
