As the name suggests, Rocky Pools is protected from the ocean by a buffer of jagged rock pools and coastal fynbos vegetation. A short stroll to the left leads to Penguin Point and its population of quirky birds, while an amble to the right lands you on Betty’s long moody beach.
The prime setting is enhanced with a shaded verandah equipped with lime-washed furniture and a sheltered barbecue area built around the local rock. Stepping through the wide glass sliding doors, the interior is spotless, and the fittings and fabrics are tastefully coordinated. Persian rugs, down lighting, DStv and a dishwasher lend a definite luxurious touch.
The main bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and wide ocean views from their queen-size beds, while the open-plan living area is spacious and conducive to a very sociable weekend, combining a lime-washed country kitchen, a long dining table and comfy couches set around a massive hearth. Please note that bedrooms not booked are locked.
Activities in the area include the Harold Porter Botanical Garden with its walking trails and tea garden, the Stony Point penguin colony, a sure-fire winner with children, and the Kogelberg Nature Reserve offering a number of hiking trails and incorporates both coastline and mountain terrain. In addition, the Palmiet River and lagoon lie at the heart of the Kleinmond Coastal Reserve and are a good site for swimming and canoeing.

Amazing views with crashing waves right in front. The house is very spacious and we loved the fireplace. Everything was as expected, but a bit better. We will be back.

Beautiful neat beach house by the sea with a LARGE indoor barbecue, a lovely patio (with a clear sea view) and another outdoor barbecue for sale. We had a great time and it was so peaceful with only the sound of the sea in the background.
We loved our 5 nights at Rocky Pools. The very best thing is the awesome fireplace! The dishwasher was most welcome, the percale sheets so crisp, the furniture comfortable and the bath indulgent. We could have had a couple of extra towels. We loved the living area and the updated kitchen well planned. It was my husband’s 75th birthday celebration and will be remembered. The easy access to the water was so convenient. Wonderful stay!
Beautiful home, well maintained, spacious, clean, open with many more amenities than their web description states. Especially the kitchen and plenty of fridge space was a welcome surprise. Would definitely recommend it.
Very friendly and willing owner. The accommodation's luxuries make rest just that much more enjoyable! The location and nature are perfect for relaxing and appreciating the wonder and grandeur behind nature.
The house was way better than expected. The morning when we woke up the view of the ocean was breathtaking. What made it even better was the fire places in the house which kept us warm during our visit. Our host, Michelle, was very helpful and friendly.
It is a lovely place with everything one needs and is very well equipped in every way. Practically on the beach, so the most beautiful view. Very quiet environment. However, it also has all the necessary technology, for those who rely on it. We had a very nice stay, even the thunderstorms were fine as there is an indoor fireplace. We will definitely come and visit again!
Rocky Pools is all that it is advertised. It is beautiful, clean and quiet. There was no complimentary tea, coffee sugar or even wine in the fridge, thankfully we had our own, but maybe that should be added in future. It won't break the budget.
A wonderful weekend of relaxation in peaceful Betties Bay. Ideal base to explore the hiking trails in the area.

What a pleasant surprise, this place is much bigger and more luxurious than the pics indicate. Will definitely be back. Also very well equipped.
The only blemish was the WiFi signal which was very poor and could not be accessed in the bedroom. I would suggest a better modem.
The house was neat and tidy and well equipped. The view is gorgeous. There was a problem with the one shower, but this has been resolved by the owner.
Excellent option for a couple or a family.
