The tranquility and spaciousness are so unique to the Karoo. The dinners and atmosphere at the restaurant were delicious and peaceful. We had a lovely walk and the trip to the Olive farm was very interesting.
Great drive up Rooiberg Pass to the lodge, but recommend vehicles with good ground clearance. The lodge is a little oasis in a remote area. Very good meals are served in the dining room or on the deck. The staff were helpful and professional. Our chalet needs a little maintenance in the bathroom, but otherwise, it is pleasant. The walks near the camp were not advised as maintenance was needed. Zebras and buck visited the area around the chalets at night when it was quiet. Enjoyable stay. Many thanks.
Found a rat/mouse in the room. Had to walk 17 stairs to the bathroom downstairs at night. Dirty fridge. Kitchen had minimal utensils. Door to common area didn't close properly.
Nice stay except for the fact that the bathroom and toilet are open plan. The result was that sometimes one of us had to wait outside to get privacy. Also, one cannot turn on the bathroom light at night without waking the other person. I suggest that the opening be made properly private with dry wall or something.
We were 3 friends on adventure motorcycles and it was a fantastic experience. We stayed in the loft rooms. It was incredibly neat and clean. The restaurant makes incredibly tasty food and is not expensive at all. The pool was an absolute bonus after our long and hot day. I would really recommend it. Absolute value for money. Will be staying there again soon.

Our stay at Rooiberg Lodge was an incredible experience. The one-bedroom cottage is beautiful, the fireplace and outdoor braai are very special and the breakfast particularly tasty and well presented. The highlight of our stay was the incredibly beautiful surroundings, the silence and the privacy.

Everything is five star - from accommodation to use of facilities. The reception to departure had only been five-star treatment.
The reception was five star. Everything was already arranged and upon arrival we could just unpack and rest. All the amenities had been five-star treatment. The wild animals could be observed from the veranda. Binoculars should be recommended to observe and view everything from the living unit's porch. The check-out, like the other facilities, was also five-star, no delay. Rooiberg can be proud of their workers.

5 star service and accommodation. The rooms are stylish and everything is of the best quality. The menu was limited, but by far the best food on our 7 day road trip on the R62. WiFi is good downstairs at the restaurant but in the rooms it is very very weak. The environment is breathtaking and you get rest for the soul. There is a large swimming pool and hiking and biking trails for the more adventurous. The only downside is the R327 which is a 44 km dirt road to the entrance. From the entrance there is a 7 km one lane dirt road with many blind turns so be careful. We recommend that you drive a bakkie or SUV if you want to visit Rooiberg. It was a fantastic break and we would highly recommend Rooiberg.

If there is a function, guests must be warned in advance. We stayed in Chalet 1, closest to the conference center where 2 parties were held. The people made noise from 12h00 on Saturday until after 3h00 on Sunday morning. It wasn't nice.

When we arrived at Rooiberg it exceeded all our expectations. It is beautiful and the service is remarkable.

This is the second time I visited Rooiberg Lodge and the experience was truly amazing again. The location and setup is great. Staff is always helpful and this is a great place to visit.

The website gave us a check-in time of 12 pm. When we got there we were told we couldn't check in until 2 pm, so we waited outside with small children for 1.5 hours for the Manor House to be cleaned. Basic amenities were missing and had to be requested such as towels in some bathrooms or a wine opener (and it's a long walk each time because - there is no signal or WiFi at the manor house. ) When my wife got lost on her bike on the trails it took her half an hour to get hold of anyone. I also had to prove on arrival that I had already paid the full amount (which was a large amount) because the website and Rooiberg systems do not talk to each other properly. It's a very beautiful place, but I assume it still leads to COVID recovery.
Management were amazing. The accommodation was superb. The meal was 5 star. Breakfast was excellent. We will be back. Perfect stop for a drive over the Rooiberg Pass which is a must.

Client service and food are excellent - will give any 5 star hotel in Cape Town 'a run for their money'! Love that personal touch! Road down there and back is a bit rough - maybe just warn guests in advance, but nothing within their own control. Will definitely be back there again!

It was incredibly nice. All the people were very helpful and friendly and Henry and Wendy went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Never had such good and personal service and we travel a lot.
It's very beautiful at Rooiberg and the management is very hospitable and helpful. Food and cake are delicious. We just found that there was nothing to do. The people with bicycles and walkers have a lot to do but not "ordinary" guests. There is no place to keep children busy. The playground is in the sun and no cover from the sun. There was one umbrella by the pool and four chairs, nothing more. No coolness except two trees far from pool to shelter under. Rooiberg is apparently 20 years old and it shows in the maintenance of the chalets. Hopefully Willie can make a difference to the new management. He is certainly enthusiastic.
Rooiberg is located in such a breathtaking area the unit we slept in was fully equipped. There was more than a sufficient amount of firewood and ice, which is great since you don't have to lug any along. The breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend.
The friendly reception at Rooiberg Lodge immediately made us feel at home. The tranquility of nature; the view of the mountains, the late afternoon's beautiful sunset and the indescribably beautiful starry sky in the evening, was truly extremely refreshing for the soul. The stars sparkled like jewels in the sky. The meals we enjoyed there were beautifully presented and delicious! Good break to cleanse and refresh the soul!
Henry and Ronel are truly two excellent people who make you feel very much at home and provide very good service. The visit and food were delicious and the prices in the restaurant reasonable. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Very nice environment. Relax on the large porch while children frolic in the pool and on the large lawns.

It was our first visit, but certainly not our last. The atmosphere, facilities, food and the people are some of the Klein-Karoo's best. Ronel, Henry and Anna, thank you very much for your kindness. The calm Monty and the two cats contribute to the lodge's cozy homely atmosphere.

Rooiberg Lodge was a pleasant surprise, and we were very well looked after by the professional and friendly staff. We stayed at four different places on 'Route 62' and Rooiberg Lodge is by far our favourite. We didn't have to take anything with us, everything was taken care of. It was the perfect getaway.
