The place is absolutely the best! Was my 3rd visit to Sabie Star and once again they did not disappoint me. The owners are so friendly and help where they can. Sabie Star offers so much extra when you are there. And the chalets with the river running by are so beautiful and peaceful.
Friendly reception, clean rooms with all the necessary amenities, lovely location only a few meters from a stream. Unfortunately, not able to make use of all the amenities like the pool and private waterfall due to a busy schedule but would love to in the future.

The owners are fantastic people. Very friendly and helpful. The chalet is tidy and there is everything you need. The cleaning and cleanliness of the chalet is excellent. Don't just get it from places. The scenery is breathtaking and the river that runs by is very calming. You can completely shut down and just be at peace. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely go there again. I definitely recommend it for people who love nature and who just need to relax. I enjoyed it so much that I didn't want to return home.

The river current and waterfalls are incredibly beautiful, and the two Great Danes are too beautiful.

Very neat, clean and comfortable units. The scenery is breathtaking, especially with the water stream and gardens that run throughout the resort. Problem is, however, for older people who have difficulty walking. Steep slopes and slippery paths to certain residential units and through gardens. Boma/braai area for units no privacy. Safety a problem. Just a tree gate at the entrance that stands open. No access control. Open from main road. Reception assured us that the last 8 years have not had any problems and have a camera system. Not sufficient and not preventive. In today's life, safety is of paramount importance, especially at overnight facilities. Check-out time is 10:00. Just after 8 in the morning with our departure, the cleaners are already getting busy. Feels like they want to get someone out so they can clean up. We stayed overnight to rest in nature and were very uncomfortable for us. Even after I spoke to them in person and asked that they could just wait until after 10:00, they just went ahead. Boma starts cleaning and carrying wood and packing for new guests. It's small things like this that make it inconvenient for guests, and hopefully management will be able to pay attention to this. You guys have a gem of a place.

It was a great stay and the only suggestion that I can make is for small tables (plastic or wood) to be set out with the chairs at braai areas to enable guests to place their drinking glasses thereon for convenience purposes.

Sabie Star is situated by a river with beautiful lawns. It is near town but not in town. The cleaning staff are very friendly and come in every morning to clean the place. The units are very well equipped with everything one needs. We didn't need to take anything extra.
Convenient location on the way to Wildtuin or for the waterfall route around Graskop and Sabie.

Sabie Star Chalets was a good base from which we could visit a different attraction on the Panorama route every day. The site is very neat with many discoveries in the forest which the children really enjoyed. The good quality internet can also be singled out, given how remote it feels in the valley.
We had a great time. We were a group of 2 couples. Our chalets were allocated close to each other, which was great since we had to braai together with the other people. The wood for fire was provided.

This was the perfect recreation ground for me and my 2 sons. We could have a nice walk, make the perfect fire in the evenings and enjoy nature among the trees, woods and water. We had a great time relaxing and will go again and again.

We found it easily and it met our requirements for a one night stopover. Sabi Star looks a pleasant spot which we did not have chance to explore. We also spent some time in Sabie which again we could explore further.

Clean pool, lovely relaxation area. Friendly service, people who go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable (even with load shedding) as possible. Only 3 km outside Sabie, very conveniently located.

The reception was friendly and we felt right at home. My 13-year-old daughter and I toured the lowlands with my motorbike and we spent two nights here. The chalet was well equipped for our self catering needs. We were able to make a nice fire every night with the wood they provided. The chalets are literally on the river and we sat on the rocks with our feet in the icy cold water and relaxed. It is not a holiday resort, but perfect to sleep at if you want to visit all the many attractions in and around Sabie, Graskop, Pilgrimsrus and Hazyview. It is really centrally located. It is also very close to the Kruger National Park. We will definitely stay there again.

It an idyllic setting and the chalets are very neat and modern. The chalets are serviced 7 days a week. They are about to renovate the Dining room so breakfasts were not available. The venue is only 3,5kms from Sabie where there are ample restaurants that serve good food.
The location of Sabie Star makes it perfect for exploring the beautiful Panorama Route and Kruger Game Park. Furthermore, the management is also incredibly friendly and helpful. With free firewood, it's the perfect place to unwind by a riverside campfire! The units were also very neat and well equipped.

We were pleasantly surprised with the location and size of the 2 bedroom chalet. Wood was also replenished every day for the evening's delicious barbecue. We heard and saw many birds every day. Beautiful gardens and nice area to walk along the creek. Daily cleaning of the chalet at no extra cost. All that bothered me a bit was the too small bath and low shower head, but the rest was fantastic! Do yourself a favor and book a delicious breakfast during your stay!

We loved every second of it, seeing the waterfall everyday, the people, tranquil in the forest and an amazing host. The view every morning was everything. It was only like 5 minutes' drive into Sabie Town. We would definitely be going back.
It was so nice to stay here for the week. With a very nice little river that runs right past the chalets and braai area. They also have a pool which is lovely and it's close to all the waterfalls and tourist attractions.

Friendly welcoming upon arrival so much more than anticipated are all the elements encapsulated in our stay at Sabi Star. Sabi Star is ideally situated to ensure only a short drive to most of the attractions in the area. Surrounded by a forest that promises the presence and singing of many birds in the area was like therapy to the soul. Adding to that the sound of the river flowing past the chalets is so peaceful and the braai area next to the river took an ordinary braai to another level. The waterfall is just a short walk away and absolutely spectacular! We received a warm and friendly welcome upon our arrival and the housekeeping testify of 5 star quality! Although a carport would ensure perfection. Thank you to all the staff and management for a wonderful stay at Sabi Star! We would surely love to visit again!

Sabie Star Chalets is good overnight or sleeping place. We were there in the winter so water a bit low and maybe I will go again in the summer and will experience a difference but sure book as it is worth.

In the winter months, the chalets are cold in the evenings and nights. The heater in each cottage is definitely too weak to drive away the cold. But the bed and bedding are lovely. The kitchen is well equipped with everything to make your own food. A coffee machine makes alas. While there is also not, as in most guest houses these days, powdered coffee present for the first cup of coffee on arrival. However, the owners are such friendly people that they will without a doubt change this mistake in the act.

Sabie Star Chalets is a beautiful place, which is kept very tidy. Whether you decide to drive around and explore the area (close to Sabie and shops, as well as comfortable distance from other attractions) or whether you just want to stay there (benches along the river with neat short grass, lovely pool, beautiful surroundings), stop here you helped Staff are very friendly and the chalets are cleaned neatly. The fine detail in every day - daily clean towels; refilling tea, coffee, sugar, and so on; special braai knee blankets, cleanly cut grounds and grass, clean braai areas every day; friendly workers; the well-planned interior decoration makes it feel like a temporary home; the complete content list with doctor details, Sabie restaurants and even TV channels summary - makes the experience special. The owners/managers recognize the value of their visitors and not just the value of their money. The babbling stream that lulls you to sleep every night. I already miss it.

We truly enjoyed our time in Sabie. The location is beautiful, waking up amidst the green is amazing. The chalet was very clean, the main bedroom really comfortable. The bunk bed in the living room was a bit less comfortable than and somewhat worn down. Altogether: a really pleasant stay at a beautiful place!

The environment is beautiful. The garden is a fairytale and the service excellent.
Very peaceful environment with the place currently being upgraded. For where we lived, the place was adequate with all the facilities. Just a pity the baths are very small and are not sufficient for large people. If you get older people and they have to stand in the bath to shower it can become a problem. Otherwise very pleasant.
Just a shame the walls are so thin you hear every word of the neighbors, so next time I'd rather go during the week and hopefully I won't have neighbors.

Being able to spend the night at Sabie Star chalets was a wonderful experience. Although there was a mistake with the booking they upgraded us with a smile to a wonderful chalet at no extra cost.

Beautiful area, very tranquil and nice stay. Rooms are very cold so put on something warm, if someone stays next to you you will struggle to sleep, can hear everything that they say, otherwise everything is good.
Lighting in 2 of the rooms was very poor in the evening. Also no privacy in rooms in daytime along access road as no lace curtains in the rooms. Mattresses on concrete single beds were done and laid through. Spider or other insect bit daughter in the neck where she was sleeping on the bottom bunk in the living room.

We were well received and referred to a beautiful clean and tidy chalet. The facilities are sufficient for self-catering and the chalet is properly serviced daily. Fire pit and wood are more than sufficient and it is lovely to enjoy the tranquility of the babbling river nearby with a crackling fire. We would love to stay there again anytime.
We found Sabie Star Chalets to be comfortable (even though we did not book the luxury chalets). We had everything we need for our stay. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and the requests made were sorted quickly. Sabie Star Chalets are very well situated to do the Panorama Route (Pilgrims Rest, God's Window, many waterfalls and much, much more). We will certainly recommend Sabie Star Chalets to others.

I would definitely recommend the place, upon arrival we were warmly welcomed, the unit where we stayed was very neat, more than enough wood for an evening fire. They are also dog friendly which makes it that much more worthwhile. We took advantage of their buffet breakfast and what a feast. The owner himself prepared our breakfast and his wife constantly saw to it that everything was tidy and that the fireplace regularly got new wood. I would definitely recommend them and we will definitely stay there again.
It was lovely. Our placed was cleaned daily and we received new braai wood every day. We had some car trouble and the host didn't hesitate to help. The owners' service was friendly and helpful.

If you are after a beautiful country place to stay, avoiding a 5-star resort yet very convenient to the town centre then this is the place. We were there for 6 nights and sad to leave. Cooked our breakfast each morning and braai at night. The place has a dining room but we did not partake. Numerous units but built in such a way that each has a very private garden looking down to the crystal clear stream. Bathroom a little dated but fully functional. Highly recommend. Great hosts. Great value for money.

Sabie Star chalets is beautiful (we stayed in the executive 4 sleeper). Neat and tidy on the inside with everything you need - even a tweezers! Whispering stream and manicured gardens added to a wonderful, tranquil, and relaxing weekend getaway. Also great location - close to Saby, Hazyview and all the other attractions and quaint toursit spots - we even went to the Kruger and walked with elephants at Hazyview Elephant Sanctuary, also close by! The owners are very friendly and helpful and their doggies also checked in on us a couple of times! We will definitely book Sabie Star again!

Well-furnished chalets in a quiet area. The mattresses on beds are comfortable. The lounge is a bit small and cement benches were uncomfortable. Although the bathroom is neat, the hand shower is uncomfortable for men.
Located just out of Sabie town. Chalets on river bank with seperate braai areas and beautiful views of the garden and surrounding hills. Dog friendly. Many hiking routes accesible from the chalets. Easy walk to the waterfall. Overall very enjoyable stay.
When we arrived at Sabie Star Chalets we half thought we were through a space/time portal where we ended up in England. The feeling of a cottage in the English Countryside is definitely there. The babbling of the stream in front of the cottage helps to calm you down after a day of driving around to all the other places on the Panorama route. The cottage is comfortably furnished with all the basic amenities. Outside is a place for a bonfire. When we were there Heaven decided to open and we couldn't use it. But the cozy bed was perfect for our aching bodies! The grounds around the cottage are pretty neat and it is ideal for a couple and a family with children because there is so much to do. We will visit again.

Lots of wood every day, nice barbecue area and very nice breakfast. I can recommend Sabie Star to anyone at any time. We are definitely going back. Was so nice to hear only nature and nothing else. We stayed in an executive chalet which was cleaned and serviced every day. Beautiful little river that runs, swimming pool was nice. Nice to sit in the silence of the evening and listen to the crackling of the fire. Wood is provided every day. Ideally situated to take a different course every day and explore the area. The owners are friendly and helpful. Get away from the city, head to Sabie Star Chalets for some quiet time!

The chalets are fully equipped and you can easily manage everything. The chalets are certainly not luxuriously finished, but this does not prevent you from relaxing wonderfully. Very close to Sabie itself but quiet and peaceful. No road or truck roared. Value for money is good.

The bath tub is a bit old and the bedroom is a bit cramped for 2 people.
The only thing that bothered was the lack of a hand rail at the swimming pool, really struggled to get out. Have already had 3 knee replacements. Also need a braai that is higher above the ground. For a boma fire, however, it's 100%.

We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent location and beautiful area. The garden is beautiful despite the drought, I can only imagine what it looks like after some good rain. The pool was such a treat and the braai area and accommodation is perfect for couples.
I would have liked more natural bush on the property for walks. Good stopover on the way to the Kruger National Park.

We had a very pleasant experience. Only the safety can get attention. No entrance gate. The vehicles are not safe and there are no anti-theft devices in front of the windows.

I would prefer to sleep in my own room. We were 2 ladies and there was a double bed in the bedroom. The 2 of us do not share a bed. I had to sleep in the living room on a single bed. The service was very good.
I would like attention to the bathroom. The tub really needs a bit of Jik and every cup is "chipped" and there was no oven. It would be nice if they told us this ahead of time, so that we could better plan our food. The office was then under the fumes which was not acceptable to me
Our stay at Sabie Star was very nice and very pleasant. The chalet was very clean and everything was in place. Shaun just needs to build a trout dam there then he's going to have to throw stones at us to keep us away! A good 9/10!

There was an armed robbery about which the neighbors on the premises complained, and simply packed up the next day and left the place. Management very courteous and friendly. The teenagers also complained that the pool was constantly dirty, so we didn't choose to swim on site. Also have a problem with the braai area which is so low to the ground, it's very uncomfortable to sit bent over on your knees and braai.
Great location and central. Beautiful gardens. We stayed in an upgraded unit but the bedding was full of cigarette marks and worn. The resident Great Dane was a little unfit and many times climbed into the house through the open window and ate our dogs' food.

Sabie Star is beautiful and situated in the natural beauty with a river that passes in front of the chalets. Gardens are beautiful and neat. The chalets were clean and tidy. We didn't come up short. The customer service was great. The management helped us fantastically when we had to adjust our stay due to circumstances. There are a few things that management could address: The linen on the beds was clean, but it could be upgraded (it looks and feels old). The beds themselves could do with new mattresses (stone built base with planks over and a thin mattress). There is no form of cooling apart from one ceiling fan in the dining room and kitchen. The master bedroom was very hot and stuffy. There is no gate or any form of security at the entrance to Sabie Star. Anyone can come in at any time and the chalet we stayed in had no burglar bars in front of the windows. We could not sleep with an open window to get rid of the heat for fear that someone might climb through the window. Management can also consider adding little things to make the stay worth the price, for example bath towels, coffee, sugar, tea and powdered milk and hand soap in the bathroom. Overall, it is a peaceful and beautiful place. It is centrally located to get to all the attractions.

So, we got engaged. We actually enjoyed our champagne right next to the river, which I might add, you hear when you open your chalet door. The hanging bridge gave us a laugh, for safety another bridge is installed next to the hanging one. The staff is friendly, the place is equipped, and mostly, the management is just absolutely fantastic. Shawne and Sharon have warm smiles and friendly laughs. Friendliest people in Sabie those two! I did not mention the view yet. It's in the mountains, so obviously it is an amazing view, but what I'd like to add, is that Sabi Star really did a good job captivating the perfect combination of look and feel up there in the mountains. Oh, and they are easy to get to as well. Oh, what a nice place!
