* Evidence of emergency that delayed arrival will be requested
All accommodation, ablution and kitchen facilities are serviced by cleaning staff on a daily basis.
Besides a bank (only open Monday to Friday and Saturday morning) at Skukuza and an ATM at Skukuza and Letaba, no cash withdrawal facilities are available in the Park.
Day visitors will no longer be allowed to bring or consume alcohol in public areas such as parking lots, picnic sites, wildlife viewing areas or roads, gates and all other areas designated as public. The restrictions will not apply to overnight visitors who will be allowed to bring in own alcohol for consumption in the privacy of their booked accommodation and the restaurants. Before 1 night ok. Air conditioning new but yes if the power goes out more than in other houses. Restaurant no agegator so no breakfast on the way sorry.
My favourite rest camp in the park.
We stayed in one of the bungalows which had a bathroom and porch. The unit's roof was full of bats and as a result there was a very bad smell that hung around all the time. Furthermore, it is well furnished, but really very expensive for what you get. I don't think we will stay there again in the future.
We had a great camp.
Yes, except the bat smell was very bad.
They have a serious bat issue, the whole place stinks of bat poo and urine and it is everywhere. You cannot leave anything uncovered because of the bats. The smell is unbearable and they are out of control with the bats. The only time you can enjoy is driving round the park and sightseeing. You have to disinfect everything when you get home. They are even inside the bungalows so the smell is constant. Bedding needs to be replaced, covers are stained and even the pillows are very old and frayed. At least the food was superb.
Seen a lot, camping facilities are old, but clean. No gas station.
We could not lock the door. Aircon did not work. Doors could not slide. Towel rack fell off the wall etc. Surrounding badly, no view.
Would highly recommend the camp. Amenities are relatively basic but enough for what is required. Would definitely return.
The view from the chalets is fantastic, located on the water, and there are many animals near the camp.
It is a nice place to crash for the night. I am not sure what the self-catering includes, but in the previous places when they say self catering, they provide you with equipment to cook your own food like plates, utensils and a pan/pot. I borrowed a pan from reception which was very helpful, since I did not bring along anything except food. But otherwise our stay was great! Thank you!
I would definitely want to stay at SANParks Lower Sabie Rest Camp again next time. The people and staff are all pleasant.
The location was good, clean and cleaning services great. Quiet and no one bothering except the nature and wild sounds that were audible and that were soul food.
Just relax and don't have to stand in lines at the gate. Very cute house. Clean and comfortable.
Lower Sabie is an absolute must in KNP, spotlessly clean, great service, great restaurants. Shop bonus, only expensive. Game drives out of the book, roads in good condition. Experienced big 5, river bank where you can just sit in camp for hours. Beautiful sunset, silence and clean air. SA at its best.
One beautiful place, beautiful scenery, good restaurants, shop with all the necessary stock. Incredible view and beautiful sunsets on the river.
Lower Sabie Rest Camp is very nice and clean.
Among Sabie's facilities - ablution block and communal kitchen are great. Clean and tidy. The shop and restaurant (Mugg & Bean) is the best of all camps in the Kruger National Park.

Confusion about booking due to no "R" number received.
The bathrooms were downright run down - in need of repairs, but otherwise comfortable and nice.
However, the cabin we stayed in was not the cleanest, and the smell was disgusting. Although the beds are made daily, they don't clean the areas properly, as there was mouse excrement in the room and the shelves were full of dust. The ablution blocks at the pool's side are incredibly beautiful! On the other hand, the ablution blocks for the campers and cabins urgently need renovation. The cleaners at the cabins do not clean properly. Shops have everything you need and the prices are really reasonable! The toilets for day visitors are neat and clean, as well as at the reception area.
The accommodation could improve a bit, the curtains are neglected. The fridge made noise all night.
The chalet was clean and it was good to have the kitchen inside so that we didn't have to fight off monkeys or birds. However, thankfully we didn't experience this here. Our chalet was not fully stocked which is a problem when you get back late and find that there is a shortage of glasses and the kettle is not working.
Lower Sabie is wonderfully situated on the river. The night sounds of the manatees are amazing! Unfortunately due to Due to Covid, our house could not be cleaned, but the houses are very well equipped.
On our second day there, we saw a leopard on our way, lying comfortably stretched out on a rock. I recommend that if you are visiting specifically to see wildlife you should go out at the gates when they open. This is when you will see the best wildlife. Take enough coffee with you in your flask because the road can be long and plan your route the night before. We've had a few tourists drive past the trails that scare wildlife away so we just drove out early in the morning so we can be first on the road and have everything to ourselves. The elephants can hold you up for a good 40 min because it was hot and looking for coolness but was a picture that you cannot explain to any person. This is a must trip and will definitely go back again without a doubt.
Stayed at Lower Sabie for 2 nights. The camp is wonderfully centrally located. Lots of wildlife seen around Lower Sabie Shop well equipped. Lovely restaurant. The unit we stayed in was very nice clean and tidy. Will definitely stay here again in the future.
The units are very clean and practical. Cleaned daily and the air conditioning a breeze in the December heat. There is plenty of wildlife to see on the main road between Skukuza and Onder Sabie. Just get up early. You will definitely see lions, wild dogs and even a leopard.

Quiet night, everything is clean. Awakening with baboons running on the roof, it was very funny. Sanitary, very clean and easily accessible for a family. All French people on vacation were grouped in the same unit. So nice to discuss exchange experience. Thank you.
Rooms not at all like in photos. Kitchen not part of the room at all, but a separate room. Bathroom also not at all like in photos. Was very disappointed because nothing was like in the pictures.

Description
The air-conditioned Keartland Guest House contains 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen and living area. Each bedroom contains 2 single beds. The first bathroom contains a shower, a toilet and a washbasin, and is accessible by the disabled. The second bathroom contains a shower, a bath, a toilet and a washbasin. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering. There is an additional bench bed in the living area.
In this rest camp, the bounty and plenitude of nature are very evident, eloquently symbolised by the most conspicuous of its numerous trees, which provides generously for the livelihood of many birds and insects. Not only do these giants produce fruit at least twice a year, but different trees produce fruit at different times, extending the gifts of life over many months. Watching the endless procession of animals coming to drink at the Sabie River establishes a sense of one's own place in the eternal cycle.
Lower Sabie Rest Camp offers a cafeteria and a shop, a restaurant, a communal laundromat, filling station, communal kitchens and ablutions, braai facilities, a separate day visitor picnic area on the periphery of the camp, a swimming pool for overnight residents, and an Eco Information Centre.
Activities at Lower Sabie Rest Camp include guided bush walks, and morning, night and day game drives in the company of trained field guides, bush breakfast and bush braais.
