The Skukuza Rest Camp in the world-renowned Kruger National Park is situated on the southern banks of the Sabie River, and is the park’s largest rest camp and administrative headquarters. * Must be arranged in advance with the gate and rest camp
* Evidence of emergency that delayed arrival will be requested
All accommodation, ablution and kitchen facilities are serviced by cleaning staff on a daily basis.
Besides a bank (only open Monday to Friday and Saturday morning) at Skukuza and an ATM at Skukuza and Letaba, no cash withdrawal facilities are available in the Park.
Day visitors will no longer be allowed to bring or consume alcohol in public areas such as parking lots, picnic sites, wildlife viewing areas or roads, gates and all other areas designated as public. The restrictions will not apply to overnight visitors who will be allowed to bring in own alcohol for consumption in the privacy of their booked accommodation and the restaurants. Like day visitors, overnight visitors will be bound by the same rules of not drinking in public.
Do not leave any food unattended, as thieving monkeys and baboons are a constant threat.
Late arrivals are only allowed in cases of emergency (proof and valid reason required) until 21:00 for guests with pre-booked accommodation at certain camps within 10 km distance from the relevant gate. An extra late arrival fee will be charged which is payable at the gate. No late arrivals are allowed at Pafuri, Phalaborwa or Phabeni Gates or any other gates for camps more than 10 km away.
The use of drones inside (and over) our national parks is strictly prohibited.

Very nice stay, but the tiles in the shower are very dirty, cupboards don't close etc. Needs a lot of maintenance. Bedding was pretty clean.
Not a nice stay. Porch and kitchen area were dirty. Bathroom looks like it's falling apart. Tiles off walls, walls are dirty and the beds are made. Will not stay there again.
Accommodation was very clean and tidy. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Stayed up the road even though there were many units open, grass was long in the camp, could stay in a better place for less money.

Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I do, however, feel that the rubbish bins could be emptied more often, especially the "ash only" bins. Access to R5 coins could also be a problem and should be more available. Otherwise, our stay has been very pleasant, besides the monkeys giving us a hard time, but we do understand that we are in their territory.
The tents are comfortable and just right to sleep in and relax after a day of driving through the game park. Nice braai facilities at each tent and clean ablution facilities.

At our tent area there was long grass, broken bottles, rubbish bins were full and our fridge in the tent was half broken.
The Kruger Park is fantastic, but the accommodation, not only in Skukuza, is mediocre.
We stayed in a tent accommodation, basic things like a mirror are not there.
The park as a whole is still beautiful, and it was a privilege to drive through, however Skukuza camp, from the very unfriendly and snide welcome at reception, to the unkept gardens, broken decks, threadbare thatch, has a lot to be desired. We stayed in a 3 single bed rondavel, which, although clean and neat, is very outdated and at the price per night, not really value for money. The restaurant, Cattle Baron, was absolutely amazing and the staff superb, definitely recommended. However the general shoddiness of the camp would probably prevent us from spending the money to stay there again.
The booking and validation process was superb. However then tent location, tent 306, had zero shade and at 40 degrees temps, the tent although equipped with a fan was unbearable. Also the urn at the camping facility and was up area was not equipped. Last year it was, therefore the availability of boiling water is a huge concern and needs rectification. The tents like 306 using this washing up and urn facility is was a disaster - ruining somewhat a good stay.

The sleeping area definitely needs to be upgraded and equipment needs to be replaced.
Visitors should only note that there is no stove or kettle in rondavel. Rondavels with open porches are harassed by monkeys and even fridges are opened and food is taken out.

Beautifully equipped, neat camp, with many activities. All facilities are very clean, in working order. Quality accommodation, value for money. Had a pleasant stay, no noise, people still honor and appreciate nature, SA's beauty.
Had a great time, accommodation expensive for what you get, but clean and tidy and our shower was clogged, from check in to sorting out only half an hour. Fantastic service.
The camp is beautiful and good. We were at a golf course, nursery, the old Skukuza railway station (which is now a beautiful restaurant complete with train and locomotive). Everything inside the campsite.

The houses are just old, broken window handles - windows couldn't close and so on. And of course not many bathroom facilities on the roads either.

My 10 year old son and I stayed in 3 camps - Tambotie, Satara and Skukuza - all 3 of which were special. We stayed in the tents in Skukuza, they were neat, clean and comfortable. The reception at Skukuza was less pleasant and was not prompt, friendly service at all. I would recommend Skukuza for sure.

The place is nice, very clean, air-conditioned, the beds are very comfortable, offers all the facilities inside and outside for a pleasant stay.
Rondavel was very adequate for an overnight stay. It was clean, with nice hot water, kitchen utensils and a braai facility outside.

Skukuza is generally a well managed camp, the staff were friendly and helpful. The camp is well situated and the facilities were okay. Kruger park is a place that should be visited by all nature lovers and the game viewing was tremendous.

Our accommodation was comfortable and clean and saw a lot of wild around Skukuza.
Clean ablution facilities. Nice rain that cooled us down. Shop did not stock the necessary campsite caravan to SA adapter plug, so make sure you have one for electricity. Shop has everything else you need in an emergency. Will definitely visit again soon!

Activities at Skukuza Rest Camp include guided bush walks, and morning, night and day game drives in the company of trained field guides, bush breakfasts and bush braais, a 9-hole golf course, Stevenson Hamilton Memorial Library, seasonal kids educational programmes, wildlife films on the big screen daily except Sundays, Lake Panic Bird Hide located approximately 7 km outside the camp, and through prior arrangement catered traditional dances can be arranged.
