The accommodation uses solar power.
Guests can relax in a 1 acre of park-like garden with a swimming pool and stunning views of the nearby Swartberg mountains. Although we are in the centre of town a rural atmosphere persists. On our south boundary, a vineyard of repute makes a prize-winning dessert wine Soet Karoo. Our neighbour to the north has planted an olive grove of 500 trees. We speak English, Afrikaans, French and German.

Comfortable, clean and hospitable.
Good location. Friendly hostess. Very useful information about the attractions in the town. Comfortable room - fresh milk, drinking water and chocolate bar made you feel extra welcome. Interior slightly out of the old box.
Room was comfortable and we had everything we needed at our disposal. Place was neat and clean. Pool was a winner.

It's a historic town. And especially famous for its ancient buildings and water sources, e.g. borehole water. Beautiful mountain ranges, breathtaking and scenic. Fresh air and beautiful vegetation.

Centrally located, walking distance to everything in town. Very friendly reception, unit spotless, lovely, peaceful garden, well equipped, delicious breakfast. Management goes out of their way to make the stay cozy. Was here during my birthday and they went out of their way to congratulate me with a special card, flowers and chocolates. The unit itself is luxurious and the nice porch adds to a sense of relaxation. Highly recommended and excellent value for money. Will stay here again in the future!
Carmen and Dick went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Rooms tidy and for the first time in a long time we come to accommodation where the photo on the website and the actual accommodation look the same! Clean, regular service, spacious, and very good value for money.
Carmen was an excellent hostess, going as far as to recommend and make a reservation for us at a local restaurant next door. Prince Albert is a beautiful, heart warming little town with lots to see! We'll definitely stay a little longer next time - to visit the market, do the ghost walk and perhaps a hike in the area! We also visited Die Boekklub in nearby Merweville for brunch which was excellent!
Our stay was wonderful. But then I must mention that the town has many nice guest houses from which one can choose. Just depends what you want to pay.

After a very long way from Johannesburg, we arrived at Saxe-Coburg Lodge dead tired and quite late. We were welcomed with open arms. We were unexpectedly upgraded to the pool suite - a gorgeous room (with a romantic four-poster bed), a comfortable lounge and even a small kitchen. The complementary sherry was a welcome relief after our long journey. Carmen was kind enough to recommend the Prince Albert Moonlight Market, as well as one or two other "watering holes" - all within walking distance. After a delicious dinner at Gallery Café and a very good night's rest, Dick prepared us the most delicious (and huge!) breakfast. We had so much fun chatting with Dick, Regina and Carmen that we left much later than planned, but it was great to get to know them better and have such a good time! They really are the loveliest, most hospitable people and the accommodation at Saxe-Coburg Lodge gets a 10 out of 10 from us. Excellent location, wonderful and very comfortable accommodation and very friendly people - what more could one ask for? We can recommend Saxe-Coburg with confidence!
Our entire experience was five star. From the reception on arrival, the heated room, the heated blankets on the king size bed, the nice sherry, the nice hot breakfast and interesting company from the owners the next morning. Will keep this visit alive in our memories. Well done!

Our stay was fairly pleasant, except for the room being extremely cold. Despite the air-conditioning running most of the time. An upgraded version is recommended. However, the one most annoying factor is that we stayed in the middle room, and unfortunately every noise from the two rooms on either side was clearly heard in our room, from the one bathroom door that scrapes the floor, and whenever one of the guests use their toilet or shower. This facility is very conveniently positioned, the hosts are lovely people, but this will not be our first choice of accommodation when we visit Prince Albert again.
The host and wife were very pleasant. The breakfast was of good quality and you could make many choices. The residence was neat and there was enough air conditioning. Close to places to eat.
Owners are very helpful and friendly. Rooms neat, garden green and cool with big trees. Excellent location across from Swartberg Hotel, where dinners can be enjoyed within walking distance.

Really value for money! Beautiful rooms, neat clean bathrooms. Friendly people, delicious breakfast. It's located right across from the Prins Albert Hotel, so you just walk across the road to sit down and enjoy yourself on the hotel's stoep. Secure parking. Next visit to Prince Albert will definitely stop there first for accommodation.
An excellent choice considering that the guest house is located on the main street between the shops and eateries, so park your vehicle and enjoy Prince Albert!

We, all 4 of us, enjoyed our 2 night stay. Rooms are beautiful, clean with definite attention to detail. Lovely white percale linen, flowers and sherry in the room. We caught up with an old friend, Dick (the host) his charming wife Regina and daughter Carmen. Friendly, homely with a delicious breakfast as well. We will definitely recommend to friends and hope to return again soon!
