We had a wonderful weekend at Shadowlands. The pool and dam were fabulous in the heat and the hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. It's a great base from which to explore the area.
It was ideal, especially because we had to be in De Rust early for the run. Cute, clean and comfortable house. Anton made us feel welcome and was happy to help. Thank you very much!
The house we stayed in is beautiful, neat and well equipped. We really enjoyed the silence. The owner may only be able to provide stronger lights or lamps for load shedding. We struggled in the dark trying to make food.
Because of the drought there was no water in the river but the water hole was wonderful to row up. Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful.
Shadowlands offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful views, just outside the town.
It was very nice to visit there and experience the Karoo in cute accommodation.
Blyblek was nice, clean and tidy, the hostess and host, very friendly and helpful. Interior of cottage is very old school. Old box TV with shared DStv, but if you are looking for the tranquility of a farm atmosphere in a clean and comfortable place to stay, absolutely the right place. The kids enjoyed it a lot.
We had a very relaxing time at Shadow Land. They have canoes that you can also use in the lagoon. Nicely located near vineyards and the Cango activities.
Accommodation was very neat and clean. Hostess very friendly and helpful, will definitely stay there again for a longer period.
The children (4 and 1) thought they were in heaven. We went rowing on the pond, swam, picked up peacock feathers and watched TV before bed. Betsi and Anton are dear people who really created a piece of heaven on earth.
Very friendly reception, everything was in order and working. Very quiet environment and comfortable. Betsie even changed rooms to make it even more convenient for us as a group.
Not having DSTV was a massive disappointment especially for the kids.

We were very surprised by the spacious living room and swimming pool. Beautiful place to rest. Warm welcome and information about everything you can do in the area.
Shadowlands is a lovely environment and Betsie and Anton go out of their way to make the stay as pleasant as possible!
The accommodation is spacious, clean and tidy with braai facilities and a beautifully furnished relaxation area. Anton and Betsie made us feel very much at home. The young people really enjoyed the canoeing and my husband and I the tranquility and beautiful surroundings. We wholeheartedly recommend Shadowlands. It is value for money with hospitality and warmth in a beautiful setting.

We had a lovely couple of days at Shadowlands. Betsie and Anton Roets were the perfect hosts and the farm cottage was very large and homey. There is also a stunning private lake that you can explore with the canoes provided. We will definitely return every time we are in the vicinity.
It's a quiet and exclusive atmosphere here, perfect for a break away from the busy city life!
