We had a wonderful stay! Great value for money. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool. The team at the lodge truly go above and beyond. The rooms were serviced every morning, and the breakfast was great with generous portions. The parking is, however, a bit of an issue. If you are not comfortable with tight parking spaces, it might pose a challenge. I will stay here again!

Lovely place to stay and perfectly located for our needs. It would be nice to have a Nespresso machine and some bathroom mats for wet feet. I wouldn't stay there for a holiday as it's not as spacious as I expected, but we were quite happy. It was clean and modern. The host was very pleasant and friendly.

Good place to stay at for business travels where breakfast is provided. Nice area with lots of birdlife around. Parking for larger vehicles might be a bit challenging if the BnB is full. Enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff.

I have travelled a lot internationally and nationally and rest assured, this type and quality of accommodation and hospitality is not often found anywhere. Pam's breakfast is the best you'll find for the price. Top value for money. An excellent place to stay.
They advertise that they accept pets, but were not pleased when we arrived with our puppy.
My stay was a short one however I felt very comfortable from the moment I arrived. The property is well kept with good hospitality.
Reception was very good. Received by the housekeeper who welcomed us with a cold glass of juice. Certain requests that were made were met.
1st we got moved to a shared suite while we actually booked 2 totally separate rooms (one top floor and one by pool). 2nd the place was filthy, mould in bathrooms, dirty bedding, dirty curtains (meant to be white but grey cause it wasn't washed since who knows, food spatter on roof! Wish I could show what windows look like behind stove and utensils, mugs and jugs not washed properly, rims and food still in and on them.
Privacy was okay.
I can definitely recommend Selbourne Lodge. The air-con in the room was a big plus and the bed sleeps like a dream.

Very centrally located and Lindsay made us feel very welcome. Rooms are spacious enough and comfortably furnished. Little space for preparing meals, but lovely outdoor tables for serving. Will go again for sure.

The guest house is very central and close to La Lucia and Westgate's shopping centres, Umhlanga promenade and the M4 highway exit. The unit had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The room was cleaned every day to the highest standard. I will definitely stay there again.

Shelbourne Lodge has a fantastic location and a beautiful sea view from the side. The rooms and bathrooms are large and the nautical theme is beautiful. The owner is super friendly. It is also very safe and our apartment was cleaned every day, even on a public holiday! "To say I was impressed was an understatement!". The only thing our apartment needed was a DVD player for the days it rained.
Lindsay is the best host ever. Went out of his way to accomodate us athletes before TriRock, VERY early morning breakfasts!
One can relax wonderfully in the unit or next to the pool, but keep an eye on children as the pool is open. The owner is very interested and accommodating, and makes a delicious breakfast on request (at extra cost). The units are tidied up and cleaned daily, which really makes it feel like a vacation! There is not much of a sea view.

The place is clean and in a nice suburb, but the parking is too small if there are many guest booked in at the same time. So, overall it's a decent place.
The only problem encountered is with parking which is very clever. The heat sensitivity was also very high and the landlord will have to turn on the air conditioner ahead of time to cool the unit. It takes too long when you arrive to even turn it on.
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything is beautifully clean and tidy and very private. Everyone is very friendly and the view very beautiful. The breakfast served in the room is also very good. We will definitely stay there again. We couldn't fault anything. Thank you very much!
We stayed at Shelbourne Lodge during Indaba. This self-catering unit is adequate for a short stay. Clean and bright. There are only 2 rooms and at the time they were being booking separately. There is a well equipped kitchen although small and TV's in both rooms and in the lounge. Close to the M4 and also Gateway and La Lucia Malls. We would have appreciated a better welcome after a long drive. We arrive in the poring rain and were not offer an umbrella to get to our accommodation. The person greeting us stood watching under shelter while we struggled to park and get our luggage. We had hoped that there would be an offer of help with our very heavy luggage and would expect an establishment showing a 3-star grading on their own website to do so. I got the feeling that she couldn't wait to get away! Not sure I would stay here again due the steep stairs, the luggage problem, and the wishy-washy welcome. Hopefully this will be rectified.
