We had a wonderful stay at Shipwreck Cottage. It's equipped with everything that one could need and filled with beautiful touches everywhere you look: lovely pictures, beautiful glassware and pieces picked up from the beaches. The loudest sound is that of the waves crashing onto the beach. Also, it's pet friendly and right on the beach - what more can one ask for? The host is very friendly and very helpful. Shipwreck Cottage is definitely on our "must return" list.
Kobus, the host, was amazing. The cottage is perfect and has everything one needs. It has the most beautiful view and garden and is on the beach, yet totally secured and fenced off. We loved our stay at Shipwreck Cottage, and our dogs loved it too! Kobus is a great host, very friendly and accommodating, and everything was perfect. It's a gem of a place! We are definitely going back for another holiday.
Had a wonderful 6 night stay over. Kobus is a wonderful and most helpful host. The views are gorgeous. Waking up in the morning and enjoying your first cuppa just watching the waves roll in is pure bliss. If you looking for luxury this is not for you, but this little cottage has everything you need. The best part was loadshedding did not affect us much. Cottage has a generator. And cottage has good wifi. Will definitely be back!

Lovely cottage with all amenities right on the beach. It could not be more perfect. The cottage is so full of character without being cluttered. Very safe, Kobus informed us of loadshedding times which didn't affect us at all and being able to walk everywhere was incredible.

We were kindly received by Kobus, the owner. He even helped with the unloading of our luggage. The accommodation is comfortable and everything we needed was available. We could even do our laundry. There are no shops nearby, so visitors should take care to bring all necessities with them.
Not only was the cottage stocked with everything one needed for a long stay, down to a baking pan and puzzles, we were able to travel with our fur babies, walk on the unspoilt beach and read in the tranquil garden. Kobus puts so much love and attention into one's stay. Thank you Kobus for sharing your piece of paradise with us.
We stayed at Shipwreck Cottage for almost 3 weeks and, if we had all our other fur kids with us, and if Kobus didn't already have other bookings, we would've easily stayed much longer! It felt like home away from home from the first day we walked through the door. It was everything we love - private, peaceful and we didn't have to worry that they dogs would get out. It is virtually impossible to find any other pet-friendly, self-catering cottage that is so comfortable, well-equipped and with such a stunning view, right on the beach. Kobus is an amazing host. He is one of the kindest people we've met in a very long time, great to talk to and never intrusive. There aren't enough words to describe how much we enjoyed our stay at Shipwreck Cottage. But it says everything about a place when people want to return to it again and again - and we have already booked again - this time for a month.
Kobus' kindness was our first impression and then of course the beautiful view of the sea with the wonderful hissing sound of the sea. The house has already been winterized and the furniture lived in, one can see there are many stories it can tell. The nearby towns are easily accessible if you want to explore the area, but you can really just stay there the whole time, walk around, read books, barbecue and rest. I don't want to recommend it too much lest it become so popular that we won't get a place again if we go back!

Kobus little house is so well cared for, full of authentic furniture. There is absolutely nothing he hasn't thought of. The whole house is spotless and neatly laid out, braai area, garden, porch, kitchen so beautifully maintained, there is nothing missing. Artistic and full of interesting things. The house cherishes you and praises your soul. Very quiet and safe.
Shipwreck Cottage was spottless clean with everything you need in the kitchen. We spent most of our time on the stoep with a magnificent view and watched whales and quite a few birds in the garden. We also had lovely long walks on the beach. There is a TV, but we did not even switch it on. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
Shipwreck Cottage met our requirements perfectly! Quiet, right by the sea, with everything in the house you need. Wind blew strong at times, but still able to sit on the sheltered porch and enjoy nature. Food for the soul.

We could easily stay there for a week. It felt like we were alone on that part of the coast. The cottage is perfectly furnished and feels like our own home. Really enjoyed it.

The house is beautiful. There is everything you need. My husband and I went to just relax and get some peace and quiet. We got it here. The view of the sea and sunrise is beautiful. The silence brings peace to the mind. I will go again for sure.
When you walk up the garden path on arrival and then suddenly see the sea, fairy garden with sugar bowls and large porch with a cozy couch, the thought comes, I'm going to have a good time here. And it was nice. Nice and quiet, secluded and private, the house is small and comfortable, clean and tidy. Everything worked, the water was hot, the towels were pure white, the WiFi good, the view unobstructed perfect. Kobus the owner was concerned, helpful, 'attentive' and very friendly - without being pushy. A short walk through the garden brings you to the massive pristine beach.
We would return to Shipwreck Cottage in a heartbeat. It's practically on the beach and within a stone's throw of a cute little restaurant. Quiet, cosy, and charming. What more could any visitor want?

What a jewel. Kobus is a very friendly host. The cottage is perfectly located on the beach front and away from the main village, so you really get the feeling that you have the whole beach front to yourself. Out of 10 or so locations we stayed during our trip, this one definitely is on top of the list.

This is my 2nd visit to Shipwreck cottage and I will definitely go back again. Kobus is so friendly and helps to unpack. After arrival he leaves you in peace to enjoy his cottage. The view and sound of the sea is a pleasure for the soul. You feel at home and everything is there to make your stay stress-free. The bed sleeps well and the kitchen is fully equipped. For a nice getaway and privacy, Shipwreck Cottage is my choice.

This place crawled into my heart. It felt like it was my home where I belong. The host makes you feel comfortable and for traveling alone - it really is a safe space. Lovely cottage with everything you'll need. Easy walking access to the beach and the Roes restaurant. Kobus is very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful view of the sunrise while enjoying a cup of coffee and rucks on the veranda. We'll definitely stay there again when we visit Cannon Rocks.
