Stonehaven is well equipped with everything you need for a weekend away. We had a nice stay. Unit no. 3, in which we stayed, is indeed one of the only units with no view. The accommodation is also on the main street as you enter Clarens, so the traffic woke you up in the morning, just something to know. The daily cleaning services are a big bonus.

The stay was world class, really a pleasant experience. The white room is spacious with a beautiful bathroom, nice patio (or it will be in the summer) and with an incredible view. We didn't get there until after 22:00 and Heinrich was waiting for us with a big smile.

We had a great time. Would have enjoyed it if we knew about the cat dam that is there and also Lesotho ski resort which is also not too far. For our overnight stay it was perfect, we were super close to the square to get something to eat and look at all the shops. We arrived in the evening, but Heinrich didn't mind, he also turned on the heater so that our cabin was nice and toasty.

The rooms were not at all as advertised in photos. The one cottage's shower is horrible. The other cottage's walls and roof are horrific. The bed rattles and creaks so when you turn over at night you can't sleep. With the hotel next door it's noisy so you wake up all the time. Did not have a good experience there at all and would not recommend at all.

Heinrich welcomed us kindly and made us feel very much at home upon our arrival and during our stay. He was very helpful and went the extra mile to accommodate us. We went for a walk in the morning and he let us know that our car had a flat tire and that he would assist us in getting it fixed as soon as we returned from our walk. I would recommend Stonehaven any day to family, friends, work colleagues etc. Stonehaven is very well located and within walking distance of all the shops and walking routes. Accommodation was bitterly disappointing! First impressions are lasting. No effort made in reception, cold and unfinished. Green and white room very basic with only the essentials, neglected and can see that no attention is paid to the premises. The only saving grace is the place's location! Accommodation for someone who doesn't care where he crawls! Will never use the accommodation again and did not receive a warm and friendly welcome at all.
My previous visit to Stonehaven was in December 2014 and the hostess, Elsa, carried her guests on her hands. The Green room was comfortable, neat, clean and everything was in good working order. However, my recent stay in the Green Room was not so pleasant. There was no hot water when I wanted to shower and wash the dishes on Monday morning before my departure. Host Pierre investigated and found that there was no power supply to the particular room's geyser. When using the kettle, to use hot water from it for the bathroom, the one double plug in the kitchen was faulty and the ends of the kettle's power plug were hot and burned my hand when I walked the kettle to the bathroom . The kitchen sink faucet unit was also loose. In the bathroom there were remains of a spider on one wall where a previous visitor had knocked it down. In conclusion, the room overall was not up to the standard it was in 2014. I believe that the necessary maintenance and repairs can bring the room back up to standard.
The chalet looked like a shack. No security, burglar bars, no gate at parking lot, home made front door that can just be pushed open. The furniture is old and the sheets had stains on it. The shower looks horrible with a dirty shower curtain. Is this the type of quality you must be happy with if you want to stay in Clarens? I would advise the owner to take a drastic look at this chalet and ask himself is this is the type of accommodation that a tourist deserves.
The unit is very well located and very comfortable. Well equipped, but definitely needs a hairdryer.
Room was great, however, having people stay upstairs above you is always tricky and noisy and a little intrusive. The downpipe for upstairs bathroom runs through the downstairs cupboard and makes a noise which is not very pleasant at all. Great cleaning staff and generally quite happy.
My daughter and I stayed at Stonehaven and will definitely go back again. Everything very clean, tidy and very hospitable, for sure our first choice for Clarens accommodation.

Stonehaven is located in a convenient, beautiful location. The room and everything was exactly as it looked in the pictures. The lady at reception was very friendly. It was clean and tidy. They also turned on the air conditioning for us so that the room would be nice and cool when we got there, which I really appreciated. One thing they might pay attention to is the coffee; I would have liked it if there was nicer coffee, like Nescafe or Jacob's, but I realize it's more expensive, and a small 25ml box of milk for the coffee and maybe a biscuit? Overall, I was very satisfied with the stay, and would definitely recommend Stonehaven. Perhaps they can also look at a security gate, so that anyone cannot enter the parking lot from the street. Thank you very much for a nice experience.

The 3 rooms are furnished with queen-size beds, and the Log Cabins are furnished with double beds, single beds, or bunk beds. For convenience, electric blankets are provided, and the units are air-conditioned. The units all have private bathrooms with showers, some of which also have baths.
Each of the units has a kitchen that is equipped with a fridge, a microwave, a 2-plate mini stove and oven, as well as tea-and-coffee-making facilities. TVs with DStv are available in the units. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms and cabins.
Stonehaven Clarens is situated within walking distance of various restaurants, art galleries, curio shops, and the Clarens Brewery. Clarens offers various activities such as walking and hiking-, 4x4 trails, as well as river rafting, and attractions in the area include the Basotho Cultural Village, and the Clarens Wellness Day Spa.
