Beautiful grounds and convenient parking at the unit. Everything one could need - would've loved to stay longer.
Definitely need to stay for more than two nights to enjoy all the activities available.
The lodge has everything you need (extra blankets as well) so you can just relax and take in the breathtaking views. I loved the huge balcony with the view of the river and sunset! The gas braai was also a good idea. If it's a quiet, peaceful break you're looking for, this is it. Would have loved to use the heated swimming pool though.
I would recommend Stonehill anytime. The road to the resort is a bit bad, but the accommodation definitely makes up for it. There were plenty of activities to keep the kids busy and we enjoyed the treasure hunt as much as they did. The 8-bed units are very clean, tidy and well furnished with a fireplace for the cold winter evenings. I will definitely return again!
A unforgettable weekend in the most beautiful area. Stunning, tastefully furnished units. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
The lodge is beautiful and the houses are neat. I highly recommend it. Only critique: the access road - some parts will be difficult to reach.
Always an awesome experience, the quiet, tranquil surroundings away from the city lights makes it worth the 2 and half hours drive every time.
The serene surrounding and river flow creates relaxation. The trail walks was an interesting and enjoyable one. I would definitely recommend and go back.
I think this is the place to retire and get old peacefully and Stonehill River Lodge will most certainly see us agian soon. I am booked for November. The staff makes you feel so welcome and really looks after your needs. The plus is that you can book out later on a Sunday which makes it so much convenient not to rush off.
Will definitely go to Stonehill again. Neat, luxurious accommodation with fantastic facilities and the location is unbeatable. The 4 children (between 4 and 8 years) enjoyed their holes out and it's very safe. Sunday morning's rowing on the river was the perfect way to end the weekend!
The staff are extremely friendly & helpful. Facility is clean and very modern.
We really enjoyed our stay, but found the road in to be a bit of an issue.
Delicious treats and beautiful surroundings. Excellent service and friendly staff. Very neat and clean units. Lots to do in the area and children really enjoyed scratching around in the dirt, playing on the climbing frames and looking for bunnies.
We had a fantastic time and will return.
