Lovely accommodation. The apartment didn't have a nice smell when we arrived. We had to use air freshener to get a decent smell. It had an unpleasant pet odour. The WiFi password did not work at all for the entire weekend. Otherwise everything else was awesome.
Apartment is beautiful, with fantastic view. Really a place I would recommend to someone who needs a getaway.
The only problem is that the floor gets wet due to the aircon down stairs and is dangerous for kids and older people. They should put a rug that is no slip.
We took my parents on holiday together. The apartment is clean and tidy. We spent a lot of time on the big porch. The view is fantastic, the sea, the people in the street, the rocks and even now and then a monkey that comes to visit. The apartment was spacious enough. The air conditioning was a blessing in the hot Durban summer time. There is a double garage where our car and trailer could park safely.

We stayed as a family in 3 of the units in Sugar Beach for my Mother's 72nd birthday. No one told us ahead of time that they were doing maintenance work at the building. From early in the morning there was hacking and commotion, with pieces of construction debris falling down from above the "scaffolding". Furthermore, the lift broke - and to top it all off, the stairs were also full of "scaffolding". Needless to say, it was with great difficulty that we had to get to the top of our apartment with the children's prams and even worse - my poor elderly parents who had to struggle up and down the stairs through the "scaffolding". The right thing for Sugar Beach to do is to close reservations for the period that maintenance is being done. It is dangerous and deeply disturbing.
