We had a quick overnight stay and didn't need much, but I would have liked to spend more time there. Very well equipped, even though the place is small. A lot of effort was made to keep insects out, and we were able to sleep comfortably with the windows open. Secure parking, and nice yard, great for smaller children to explore.
Swan Gables accommodated us, after they were actually fully booked, thank you very much. Room was clean and tidy. Toilet paper ran out but was immediately replenished after we reported it (there wasn't an extra roll). Shower water was cold, but gas was also replaced immediately after we reported it. Lights in room were very dim and we had to use our own lighting. Strange sewage smell was noticed when the bathroom fan was on. Water at sink has a metallic taste. Not sure if it is suitable for drinking. Sounds from the room next door could be clearly heard. Nevertheless, the accommodation was functional, thank you.
The room was spacious and tidy, but there was no hot water.

We were not aware that we would be sharing a house with the owners. However the premises were clean and comfortable and had everything we required and Celia was friendly and helpful, especially during the unexpected power failure.

Didn't provide a duvet inner for the cover, was quite cool that night. Unit next to us received guests at 4 o'clock in the morning. Made a lot of noise, no accommodation when we made a complaint at 5 o'clock. Not very helpful when we complained to the owner. Would not recommend.
Room has basically what you need.
The advertisement is misleading because none of the features were present. We were under the impression that everything is on one premises and then converted into alternative housing units, unfortunately it was not the case and we ended up in a residential unit that was not worth the price. Afterwards, we found out that it was an agent arranging everything, so it wasn't her own place. The unit needs renovation, it's literally a Wendy house, so if the wind blows it was unpleasant, tree branches and roof tiles continuously slashing against the building. The curtains, bedding are old and have no character, the water in the fridge was old and the fridge was turned off, had to wait for it to get cold before we could use it. Not any of the features were available as advertised.

The accommodation is not up to standard. Everything is in one room. The kitchen sink sits inside the shower. It was dirty and it cannot be rented out to the public. Dirty and absolutely a disgrace.
Swan Gables is very centrally located and offers good value for money accommodation in Botrivier.
Was caught quite off guard by the 'quirky' place which is then a Wendy's in the back of a yard.
We stayed in the pool house, it was very nice. Just to have my girls near me in one room, it's what I like. Pool was clean, owners were so friendly, wow, you just gotta love them.

Thea helped us with overnight accommodation on short notice. She was very friendly and helpful, and when she heard we had trouble paying the deposit, she offered that we pay it when we arrived. The room was convenient and there was a info brochure with useful info about shops and attractions. There weren't any cooking facilities, but there are a few restaurants within walking distance and of course wine estates in the area. Three adorable, well-mannered dogs also came to greet us.
Greeted with a warm welcome, nice size room and bathroom, both clean and neat. Very comfortable beds, easily accessible, quiet, peaceful and relaxing.
I stayed at Kitty Paws, an apartment behind a house. It won't be walking distance to the hotel for everyone, but for me it was perfect since I wanted some relaxation. I don't have complaints, but be aware that there is a gas geyser for the shower and that it is sometimes a bit temperamental. Luckily I am used to working with gas so it didn't bother me too much.
First impression was a NO! Looks like a place that hasn't been lived in in a long time. Definitely not value for money when comparing the price with places with a sea view. Room was clean, but facilities insufficient. Shower is either cold or very hot. Lots of upkeep is needed in the room, for example: the ceiling is broken. It's a treasure hunt between the sawn-off trees, garden waste and wooden benches, till you get to the room. The drought is no excuse for sloppiness. Hostess was very friendly and helpful with providing basic items on request. It's a pity because I think there's so much potential if the basics are just attended to.
Very nice place close to the hotel. Walking distance. The house has all the basic necessities. Nice and safe. Very friendly service.
The room was clean and tidy. Could only hear the talking and movements of the people in the next room. Cement floors were a bit cold, but otherwise very nice stay. Could just walk to the hotel and other restaurant.
Disappointed. Swan Gables was unprepared when we arrived that evening. They immediately gave us a room, but it was not the "cottage" we booked and paid for. The place was neat and clean, but not special. Will not go back again.
