Excellent host, Anna, friendliness and helpful. Complimentary Easter eggs, honey and lots more. Felt like home, stunning views, with a lot of dams. Kids enjoy it a lot, with our fur children also. Will definitely return.
We stayed in Agapanthus Cottage. It was well equipped with all the cooking and braaiing equipment. It was clean and neat. Even when it rained, there were enough facilities to still braai.
It was an absolutely delightful stay! A perfect getaway from city life. We stayed at the Agapanthus cottage. Please don't expect anything fancy, it is an escape after all. The cottage was clean, with basic toiletries provided as well as tea and coffee. It is all solar/gas powered. It's important to know there is no TV and microwave, also no internet connection - perhaps this is what I loved most about the place. My two dogs enjoyed themselves, very spacious outside area. The manager was very polite and checked up on us. Will definitely be back.
The lodge perfectly serves the needs and the farm is beautiful. We had an excellent week at Talbot. Dams are well stocked and fishing was excellent. I released 27 trout caught over five days, of which at least five were brown trout.
We really enjoyed the two days on the farm with four of our dogs. Every day we went for a 12 km walk in the mountains among the wildlife. Make sure your dog can walk well on a collar for easy walking. The housing was comfortable. Take a book with you to read, because there is no television. Vodacom is not catching up there either, even MTN. They are fully equipped for load shedding. You just can't blow dry your hair, so take it easy and forget about looking good. I will go there again for sure.
Clean quiet accommodation. No mission. Hostess Anna is a very helpful lady who only wants to help.
We were surprised with freshly baked cheese muffins for breakfast. Something we didn't expect at all and something that doesn't happen every day.
We initially booked 2 nights in Agapanthus Kothuis, but then extended our stay by one more night. Accommodation was neat, comfortable and beautiful. Private accommodation with a view and access to a private trout pond. The closed yard with garden and braai facilities was very suitable for our Staffie who also really enjoyed the nice walk in the morning on the farm. The owner, Jens, and his farm manager, MJ, were very friendly and hospitable. We were spoiled with boiled jams, and baked goodies. The environment on the farm is really very quiet and peaceful. Farm is exceptional for walking, trout fishing and bird watching.
Beautiful setting. Finer details make you feel special. Nice place to just switch off. We are already planning to go back.
It is the place we will definitely come back. Clear air, singing birds waking you in the morning. Mountains around inviting you for hiking, fly fishing and most important - so quiet.
Everything and more we expected. Picture pretty. Our dogs had a feast. It's the small detail that is important. Anna is a wonderful hostess and spoiled us with delicious biscuits, fresh corn puffs with marmalade. Most beautiful view, the photos do not do the institution justice. Our daily visitors were the rescue donkeys who eat bread out of your hand. The institution is well maintained. I wouldn't be able to improve on anything.
The cottages, view and surroundings are definitely a winner. The gardens are exceptionally well maintained.
