The lady at the reception was very friendly and the rooms were clean.
I love the reception lady.
The accommodation is not bad, but just make sure you realize that you don't have your own kitchen, you share a kitchen area with the other guests in the guest house. The beds were made on Saturday morning, but the rooms were not cleaned. I found a dead cockroach next to the toilet on Friday afternoon when we arrived, and it was still there when we drove up on Sunday. We had very noisy guests in the other rooms, so we didn't sleep well. The lady assured us they wouldn't be there again on Saturday, but they were. Just make sure of these things before you book.

The atmosphere in the place borders on a camp in the Kruger Wildlife Park. Very peaceful and I will definitely check in there again if I have to stay overnight in Tzaneen. The rooms and facilities are great for a person who loves the outdoors and is also not on a budget.

The place exceeded my expectations. It was a lovely view from my room.
Would like to recommend just one thing, as visiting guests we like to make a boma fire, if there is such a thing, it will make the atmosphere much better, because the barbecue is not very practical.

Everyone who asks about a place to stay wants to know first of all if there is aircon and second WiFi. If it is very hot as Tzaneen can get then an aircon always wins.
The rooms were neat and clean. We were booked in self catering. The kitchen is well equipped. Goats roam freely between the rooms. Will definitely book here again.
Enjoyed everything about my kids waking up to animals in the morning, best thing to see.
Outside is a lapa where we could relax in the afternoon and watch the goats. It is quiet and peaceful and close to Tzaneen.

The area is very beautiful and the little goats that roam peacefully add to the comfortable bushveld feeling. Breakfast was delicious and the kitchen and living area are very well equipped with an honesty bar. All constructive criticism I can give is that the room's walls were very dirty and also the door. Other than that, I can't say anything else bad. Was a lovely night's rest in a very nice area. Good value for money. No work area in the room, but there is ample seating in the dining room/lounge with good WiFi.

Romantic interlude, attention to detail, picturesque setting. I fell in love with the buck and not forgetting the owner's 2 adorable dogs. As for their breakfast, simply scrumptious and decadent, but truly excellent value for money.
Cost effective stay in an awesome natural setting. Love the animals roaming free on the property. Although all rooms are attached, it is very private and quiet. The pool was a great ending to the hot Tzaneen days.

We had to cancel our second night due to death in the family. The owner wasn't very sympathetic when we told her and insisted that we pay for two night. Although we understand that it made business sense to pay, the manner in which it was said was rather rude.
Maybe just admit on the page that there is a fee for if you wanted to braai on the braaiers and that no day visitors are allowed to visit. Furthermore, it is a beautiful place.
If you're staying alone in the common area, it is very convenient, but with other strangers it will be a nightmare. We also struggled for 20 minutes before someone opened the gate for us. But yes it was cheap.

Upon our arrival we had to learn that our dubbed was booked with another family. The problem was sorted out by the owner and everyone was happy in the end. The chalet is well equipped with everything you need. Everything was clean and tidy. Pool appears much larger in the photo on the web page but was adequate.
Really great location. The staff are also friendly and attentive. There was a double booking for our chalet and we helped them by moving from self-catering chalet to the B&B section. Although very nice, definitely not practical if you have any physical disability. Having to walk outside in the rain with my walking stick just to get to the kitchen was not ideal and dangerous. Very slippery and far for those who cannot walk easily. (Close if you're healthy). I ended up not moving unless someone was there to help me. So if you struggle with your health, stick to the chalets! Overall, still, a lovely place to stay in Tzaneen and would recommend it.

The place is beautiful and clean. Well maintained and modern. The host seemed to not want us on his property from the word go. We were 4 young people, perhaps he thought we would cause chaos. He was very unfriendly which made it impossible to enjoy the stay. The only time he spoke to us was when he had to. The rest of the time he walked about his property which in all honesty was scary. Then they started preparing for the next guests 2 hours before we left. That just amplified the situation. We did nothing to deserve the grumpy, shooing away we received throughout the stay.

We were in a self-catering unit. Very neat and fully equipped. Peaceful with goats grazing everywhere. The dirt road from the tarmac to Tarentilos Country Venue & Accommodation needs some attention. Since turning in from the tarmac is directly around a bend, it will help a lot if a signpost is placed on the left hand side about 50 to 100 meters ahead of time.

Big problem with your address on your form. We searched for a long time and had to call them 3 times where the place was. E.g. you write: 'Turn in Annecke street' but it is completely wrong if you drive on the street.
I would recommend it to anyone suffering from big city stress. The rooms were beautifully decorated and smelt wonderful. The view from our window of the springbok grazing next to our bedroom window was phenomenal. The mattresses were superb and supported the body very well. Because of the whole ambience, we managed to finally get a good nights rest.

The range of the place is too much, if different room is booked we may not get visit from guest house side. Breakfast is a total no. The gates are not unlocked until 06:30, we work and move far away so we have to drive early. The old uncle was not a friendly person at all, think he needs to work on his attitudes with people. Bed slept well and pillows. No water in rooms or glasses, must drink bathroom water.
The service is great, the place to stay is clean and tidy, the surroundings are peaceful with the most beautiful garden and wildlife roaming around making it a piece of heaven! The breakfast was neatly served, healthy and filling. I would definitely stay there again and definitely recommend the place! Absolute value for money and more.

The chalet was very nice with a nice view on the garden.
I booked for my 2 teenagers with 2 friends at Tarentilos. My children can not talk enough about how nice and beautiful it was. On Saturday, my daughter went to a friend's wedding and called Tarentilos at the prompt of the moment to see if she could check them in there for a night. She was immediately helped by the owner and the room was beautiful and specially made. They went out of their way to have everything ready for the children. This is the first time my children have left us to sleep and my mother heart felt very comfortable. Thank you very much Taretilos!

We only stayed one night. There were an awful lot of cockroaches. I couldn't even close an eye. I was too afraid of a cockroach walking on me. It was not at all what we expected. As we had spent almost 300 km on the road to join our holiday point, this was already a big disappointment. I would not recommend it to any person.
Close to the main points of interest in Tzaneen, and definitely value for money for self catering. I would love to visit again.
The ablution block and kitchen are outside which are used jointly by the guests. The area is very beautiful, there are tame goats running around everywhere.

Unfortunately the lady who manages the place was not available upon arrival, and could not inform us about the closing time of the gate (which happened to be 16.30). Further on we discovered a perfect quiet environment with lots of free roaming Impala around.

An absolute little gem of a place! Felt really safe and comfortable. So peaceful with the Impala and other small antelope roaming around in the gardens, just beautiful! Will be back for sure!
