We were pleasantly surprised on entering the abode even though we had seen pictures. Very spacious, neat and clean. The setting is beautiful and serene, just what you would need for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. My kids were safe to explore the gardens on the property. The hosts are the best, always smiling and engaging.
Access to the room for older people was a problem as it involved many stairs down to the room. Otherwise, the hospitality and facilities were excellent. Our host and hostess were very kind and helpful. The room was spacious and had all necessary appliances and kitchen utensils.

Tranquility, spacious and comfortable.
Was a tranquil, almost secretly located guesthouse amongst the beautiful bush and tall trees, only a few km's from the Kruger Phabeni gate. Wonderful hosts and beautiful settings. Maine coon cats and tadpoles kept the kids occupied for hours. Would definitely recommend and hopefully revisit when on route to the Kruger again. Fully self sufficient and no loadshedding woes, almost as if we had travelled back in time.

Everything you could need and more. Brian is an incredibly hospitable host. The unit sleeps 6 people and is very spacious with 2 bathrooms and a kitchen, as well as braai facilities. Outside there is plenty of space to hang out and also a swimming pool with a nice view. It was safe and very convenient.

We stayed two different nights and it was interspersed with two nights in KNP. We stayed in the log house which is highly recommended. It is clean, tidy and the environment so peaceful. The staff were so friendly and the owners Brian and Gerda were the perfect hosts. Their breakfast is to die for. I would absolutely recommend Tatenda Guesthouse.
During a quick decision for a quick round trip to the game park, we realized we weren't going to make it into the game park before the gate closed. We booked through the Tatenda website. Tatenda is 12 minutes from the Pembani gate. So we could quickly be inside the wildlife park. Tatenda's location and gardens create a small wilderness world of its own that makes you feel like you've already reached the wilderness. A garden full of birds made for an early awakening with happy birdsong. Brian offered to pack snack packs instead of breakfast, but we decided to wait a bit instead and a delicious breakfast was served by Brian and Gerda together with their friendly staff.

Tatenda is a beautiful place, the rooms were beautiful and luxurious I enjoyed being there, in terms of safety I was afraid to leave my vehicle alone as there were no gates or proper parking.
I have a wheelchair and although they are not specifically set up as "wheelchair friendly", Christell and her friendly and helpful team went out of their way to accommodate us and keep us as comfortable as possible. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The place is beautiful and the service we got from Patricia was lovely, I'd recommend anyone to go there, but in summer, because the pool was cold, we also had a little issue with the hot water in the bathrooms. We had to take cold showers on our departure, but nonetheless I'd visit there again.

Friendly reception and the room was beautiful and comfortable. We also received a road map as well as pamphlets for the eateries in the area for dinner. Christelle made us feel so at home and we had such a good time - as if we were old friends. We were spoiled with the most delicious hot chocolate with marshmallows on a cold winter night.

A very beautiful and comfortable room that met all our needs. Tatenda is very conveniently located and good for an overnight stop on the way to the game reserve. I generally choose a comfortable place with everything on hand for a night or two. The breakfast was definitely more than just a basic breakfast that you would get at well-known places. It was quite a surprise and very tasty and even my child enjoyed it!

The house is very comfortable and parking is safe, everything is big enough. We would have preferred that there should be all the DStv channels (even for a fee), or that it is stated on the website that there are only very limited DStv channels available. Our car broke down in White River, and Tatenda owner, Christelle, helped us to rent a car on Saturday late afternoon, as well as calling and checking on us every step of the way. Upon arrival, we discovered our room was wonderful. Patricia attended to all our needs. We will definitely use this B&B again and recommend to our friends. Guesthouse is neat, clean and reception was friendly. There is indeed a TV in the room - but there is only one SABC channel and M-Net. I would have expected to be able to choose from more than just 2 channels! It is definitely sub-standard. Parking behind a fence is on the lot next to the guest house - otherwise in front of the guest house without any security. I was slightly uncomfortable about it. Breakfast was nice.
