Accommodation is available in 4 quaint, beautifully appointed cottages, each cottage names after an artist — Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet and Picasso. Paintings in the style of the artists complement the unique decor in each cottage. Each cottage has a stoep looking into the central garden. Monet, Renoir and Picasso each have a portable Weber-type kettle braai, while Van Gogh has a built-in brick braai. There is also a built-in braai in the garden for the use of guests in the cottages.
The establishment offers percale cotton linen and high-quality towels. A welcome bundle of firewood is provided, together with tea, coffee, sugar and Cremora. Please remember this is a self-catering venue, you must provide your food, drink, and additional firewood if required. For groups taking 2 or more cottages, the cleaning service is added on per cottage and the cost will be added to your accommodation invoice for payment in advance.
Parking is available for 4 vehicles, with a carport. The gate is kept locked. Palisade fencing along the road frontage gives added security, the other sides of the property are walled. Picasso Cottage is also suitable for pets, provided that they are kept under control and socialised.
TV with DStv channels and a mini Hi-Fi mean that you stay on top of important sports events, or can watch a movie with a glass of wine and the fire keeping you toasty warm. This is great for most nights in Dullstroom, as they can get somewhat chilly.
There is unfortunately no backup solar or inverter power at this stage. Load shedding schedules will be provided to guests with directions on the day of check-in. 2 Cottages, Renoir and Monet, have gas geysers, ensuring that there is constant hot water in these 2 cottages.

The location was perfect - nice and close to all the places we wanted to visit. The accommodation was neat and clean and the garden beautiful. We stayed there for three nights - beautiful village.

We haven't had the privilege of sleeping over within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. Bronwen was incredibly helpful with all the necessary information for the 2 units we booked, which were conveniently large and comfortable. We do notice that accommodation in SA often only gives regular tea complimentary with coffee, so where is our proud rooibos? For a beautiful place like Dullstroom that also attracts many overseas tourists, it would be much more appropriate to have rooibos tea as an option. Big please yet. We definitely recommend the Artists cottages for the incredible location in the heart of Dullstroom!

What a lovely stay we had. The cottages are centrally located, well looked after, and clean! The shower was one of the best, with good size and great water pressure. Having solar makes load-shedding a distant memory. Would recommend it to anyone and I would definitely go back.
Dullstroom has so much to offer, all within walking distance. Fireplace is obviously a winner.

The place is very cutely built. I will choose the Van Gogh Cottage again if I come to Dullstroom. The place is well equipped with everything one needs.

The accommodation needs updating. The cusions in lounge were old and flat. Carpets in lounge and bedroom were dirty.

If you want to be within walking distance of town, The Artist Cottages are highly recommended and value for money. The Van Gogh unit I stayed in is spacious, beautiful and comfortable (although not a problem for me it is important for some to know that the unit does not have a shower). Other units look spacious from the outside as well as inside. Will definitely stay there again if I visit Dullstroom.

Loved that the cottage is in town and so we didn't need to use the car at all, we walked everywhere, even to dinner and back. Bonus was a Seattle right across the road for early morning cappuccino. Not that there aren't plenty of coffee shops all along the main road, but not all of them were open.

We as a family stayed in the Van Gough House. It was gorgeous, clean and fresh, neat, comfortable and safe. The Artists Cottages are located roughly in the center of town and are within walking distance of everything. It is well equipped, not too noisy and the beautiful little garden creates a peaceful atmosphere. We will definitely visit there again. Many thanks to Bronwen for her kindness and helpfulness and also to the team of cleaners who ensure that everything smells so clean and fresh.

Management was very helpful, and kept us up to date with local load shedding schedules. Very comfy, with a great fireplace and heater for the bedroom. Decently kitted kitchen for a few days. Very nice garden to relax in when the weather permits.
Unfortunately, the one restaurant in the street has a performance every afternoon until about nine o'clock in the evening. The noise is just too much and too long. It doesn't have to be so hard to enjoy yourself. Bronwen goes out of her way to do everything right. Thanks for that.

In my opinion, The Artists Cottages at Le Quartier makes it worth it for me because we are within walking distance of all the most important places in Dullstroom. I feel that the place exceeded the expected standard that I had created and was also the most comfortable place to sleep for me that was available during the weekend. I will definitely recommend the place and also make sure that my friends and family hear about the destination if they need a place to sleep.
Very good information in advance by Bronwen about location indication and access to Cottage. Everything was ready and so nice and tidy. Unfortunately, we were not informed that the unit is not serviced (bed making and dishwashing) during the stay. Very centrally located and walking distance to most places.

We initially only booked one night because we were traveling from somewhere else and wanted to spend a night in Dullstroom, but after we arrived we immediately booked another night because the cottage was just that great. The accommodation is as centrally located as it gets and there is a pedestrian gate where you can also enter and exit, so you can park your vehicle and walk to most of the shops and restaurants. The cottage was incredibly clean and tidy and had a sense of peace inside. The open-plan kitchen and lounge create a nice atmosphere and there were two bedrooms. One with a double bed, and one with two single beds. I do see a few reviews complaining about noise from vehicles because it's so close to the main street, but unless you're easily bothered by noise it shouldn't bother you at all. It really wasn't annoying. On the contrary, as soon as we got to the cottage, it felt like we were far from town. The beautiful little garden and porch with seats and braai also made us feel very much at home. Bronwyn was very nice and quick to answer any questions and send information over WhatsApp. It's the third time we spend the night in Dullstroom and we will definitely come back here.

A very well-appointed and decorated cottage, you want for nothing. And the absolute added bonus is the beautiful gardens which luckily for me, both times I stayed, the roses were in full bloom. Highly recommended.
Monet cottage. Nice interior decoration, well equipped, clean and tidy, beds comfortable, garden beautiful. Directions via WhatsApp from Bronwen to find a place were very good. Had a bit of trouble with gate lock in the dark, light at the gates would help a lot.
Overall, the stay was very pleasant.
Only stayed one night, was good value for money, neat and clean. Close to the main route through Dullstroom, but that didn't bother us.

The cottage was styled very well, the rooms were very well decorated. The fireplace was a must, the nights got quite cold. The garden was lovely. The only things I could find fault with was that the geyser didn't seem to hold a lot of hot water, even for two people, the carport seemed a little small, and the fire extinguisher wasn't in the easiest to reach spot.
It would be good to get some more wood for the fireplace, because it burns up quickly. The water pressure in the shower is very weak. Other than that, everything was completely to our liking.
We had a really nice stay. Very well equipped and very tidy. It's very centrally located and enjoyed being able to easily walk from there to all the shops.
I forgot my pillow in the cottage, they kept it safe for me and I was able to get it back. It meant a lot to me. Bronwynne provides friendly and helpful service. She even sent me a message and indicated the location. We felt welcome and safe.

I have been in Dullstroom a lot, and this was certainly the nicest stay yet. Location is perfect with Seattle Coffee Co just across the road, everything is walking distance away, secure parking is available, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Will definitely do so again.

Very conveniently located in the heart of the village. Within walking distance of most places, neatly clean and comfortable. The wood and the fireplace were a bonus and Bronwen was very helpful. However, there is music that can be heard from the town until very late. We will book here again in the future.

The accommodation was neat and well furnished. It is centrally located and one can explore the village on foot.
We stayed in the Van Gogh Cottage, which can comfortably accommodate 4 people. It is well furnished and tidy with a nice bath and fireplace. Communication by the owner or manager was very good. The location is great as you can walk to so many places on the main street, but as it sits just off the main street and has a lot of traffic going by at night, just don't expect dead silence when you sleep.
