I also couldn't turn on the TV. Service at breakfast is really tragic! The view is fantastic! There is everything in the room that you need, as well as an equipped bar fridge. Very very clean.

We had the presidential suite as it was our honeymoon. I requested this in our conversations. However, we did not receive the honeymoon package, and I'm not sure if this was included in the bill. So, that was a bit disappointing. However, the suite was absolutely beautiful. Very clean and with very friendly staff.
My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves at The Bay Lodge and perhaps should have stayed longer to enjoy the experience more!

I loved everything about this destination. The lady who did our massages was excellent. The staff was amazing. We struggled with WiFi, but not a train smash. Also, I did not like the bed, but that is just my preference. Honestly, I loved this place. Would love to come back.

Stay was excellent. Would only suggest that you specify which floor the room is located on and also that you post pictures of the room. I had to go up stairs with my mum after your photo made it look like it was a ground floor unit.
The service, friendliness and attention to make your stay as comfortable as possible is unheard of. The location is perfect and the lodge is perfect. Although one would think it would be an impersonal experience, it was everything but. The staff made it feel like this is your home and were ready to serve and create the best experience possible.
We stayed at The Bay Lodge for a week in Luxury Suite 1. The sea view is fantastic. The room is small, and after 2 days it starts to feel quite cramped. There is no room for 2 chairs to watch TV, so you are forced to lie on the bed, which means the mattress is yellowed, mushy and needs to be replaced. Breakfast was pleasant but the staff is not ready to serve 7.30. We had to go and ask for service. The toaster in the dining room is terribly dirty and needs to be replaced. Towels are not changed daily, nor were we sure on which days they are changed. Milk was not replaced on Sunday morning, we had to go and ask. Note that there is no one to help carry bags up and down stairs. Staff were friendly, breakfast was freshly prepared. Overall the stay was average for 4 star accommodation and there are a few small things that need attention. If I had known how small the Luxury Suites were, I would have much rather booked the Superior or Presidential Suite, especially since we were staying more than 2 days.
Came in at 11:00 in the evening and there was no power or hot water. Power was off all night and the after hours number just wasn't answered. Had to inquire several times the next morning and ended up showering in another room.

The Bay Lodge carried us on their hands! It was one of the most beautiful, luxurious places we have ever stayed. During load shedding there were still lights that worked, that was a bonus for us! Stayed 2 nights in luxury unit with sea view. The delicious breakfast on the deck facing the waves was once again the highlight of our visit. The staff were very friendly and considerate. The second morning we did have to wait a very long time for our breakfast due to a shortage of staff in the kitchen. The intermittent WiFi was also a slight frustration.

Just one suggestion: Maybe Bay Lodge should consider putting a person's contact number on the accommodation details who won't mind being bothered after hours. Michelle was very accommodating when we called to arrange for our late arrival. She was very unhelpful and just kept saying she was off duty. Where are you supposed to get hold of Bay Lodge if it is load shedding and the land line is not working.

Negative: junior staff need more training in relation to customer service (check-in, requests, inquiries, etc.) Rarely/never seen management except at checkout. Rooms are terribly neat, but should be checked better. Switches, power points not working, crockery not replenished/replaced. WiFi strong and reliable, but kicks out every time device is off, then have to log in beforehand and it's time consuming/frustrating. Common areas need to be kept tidier, unused pillows are openly piled up, additional office (cluttered) is visible at outside breakfast. The lodge is beautiful, but needs to be looked after much better so that it can always be excellent.

The staff is very friendly, considerate and helpful. We only see a problem if there may be disabled guests or old people who cannot climb all the stairs to the rooms. The staff who were on duty when we checked in and also at breakfast were very friendly and made us feel very much at home. They are definitely an asset to The Bay Lodge.
