The Bush Hut is situated in the Hoedspruit Wild Estate and offers private, self-catering accommodation in the heart of the bushveld.
The house can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The first bedroom comprises a king-size bed that can be converted into 2 single beds and the second bedroom comprises 2 single beds. The bathroom is fitted with a corner bath and there is an outdoor shower. Complimentary toiletries and toilet paper are provided on arrival. Both bedrooms have fans and the main bedroom has air-conditioning.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a stove, fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery and crockery. The lounge has comfy seating, a TV, air-conditioning as well as uncapped WiFi.
There are rechargeable globes and solar lights in place if Eskom exercises load shedding. There is also have a gas hob available. Rechargeable fans upstairs and downstairs will keep guests cool during load shedding. There is also a UPS specifically for the Wi-Fi as well as a power trolley with 2 plug points and 2 USB ports to keep the TV and fridge or fan working during load shedding.
The unit opens up onto a verandah equipped with an outdoor dining set and a built-in braai. There is a plunge pool and a boma where guests can gather around the fire pit. Secure parking is provided for guests.
Guests can enjoy the sight of impala, duiker, zebra, giraffe and the occasional kudu and warthog to name but a few that roam the area, also round the house. On the estate, guests can go for a run, a walk, a game drive or hire a bicycle and explore the estate at your leisure.
It is the perfect location from which to plan day trips to the Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon the biggest green Canyon in the world and the many other attractions Hoedspruit has to offer. Proximity to restaurants and shops are very conveniently located.

We used the cottage more just for a place to sleep during a short weekend to Hoedspruit, but can definitely recommend it. The night owls' early morning visit, as the sun was rising and they were on their way to bed, was truly special for us.
Perhaps a few more lamps with all the loadshedding.
It's a small reserve with some wild animals in it. Squirrels, warthogs, zebras, blue wildebeest, monkeys, giraffes, lots of goats, lizards, lizards, lots of birds and scary snakes. The speed limit is 40km/h on the tarmac. If you drive too fast, you get an unnecessarily large fine. A warning to people who want to come and stay there. It was nice to see the animals moving around there. We had a nice stay in the cottage. Lots of extras that other places don't provide, like Doom, matches, bath soap, emergency lights. There was a choccie and milk in the fridge for each of us. It had been very thoughtful. The weather was great and we had a great time cooling off in the splash pool. The wifi is excellent. Works even when the power is off.
Beautiful, neat, clean and fully equipped with treats in the fridge such as chocolate, milk, coffee, tea and sugar. Wonderfully peaceful. Friendly hostess Angela! Everything was pre-arranged and in place e.g. access with special code. Map of area in the Wildlife Estate, bird books and board games. The accommodation was lovely and the outdoor shower was everyone's favourite. Will come back anytime and recommend to everyone. Thank you Angela.
The place is really very well equipped with everything and more that one would need. Ideal for a family of 4 with young children. The Wi-Fi is fast and keeps the kids busy at night. There are also loads of board games and books to enjoy. Engela literally went out of her way to assist us when our car broke down 40 km from Hoedspruit on the day we left. She arranged for someone to pick us up when the insurance came to collect the car and let us stay another night. We were really stranded on the side of the road and thanks to her my family is safe. I will definitely visit the place again and definitely recommend it.

We really enjoyed the visit. It's a very cute place, which is fantastically equipped. There is plenty of room for walking in the estate itself. The safety is really good. The outdoor shower was extremely unique.
My only complaint, our stay was too short. We are in love with this place and had a really nice stay. The unit is perfectly equipped and next time I will definitely pack less because they really provide more than expected. I wish I could get away here for a month. Engela's service was also excellent: someone removed the hair dryer and Engela came to deliver a new one the same day. The place was clean and tidy, everything in working order and the contactless check-in without any problems. Truly worth every penny.

We were pleasantly surprised with Engela's arrangements, especially the fact that we were informed ahead of time that the unit was ready ahead of time. The unit was very neat, clean and comfortable. One feels safe in the estate, and the fact that the unit is located so close to everything makes it ideal. And finally, the animal visitors are special. Thank you for a very nice visit.

We really enjoyed the Bush Hut. The unit has everything and more that one would need. Als was so neat, the woodland was beautiful with night monkeys, birds, warthogs, zebras etc. who came to say hello Our children also really enjoyed the pool. Thank you very much for an unforgettable weekend.
Early in the morning when we had to check in, Engela called and gave complete directions, key rails as well as WiFi password etc. on WhatsApp. Furthermore, she immediately let us know when the unit was ready and we were then able to check in at 12 o'clock as we had already arrived in Hoedspruit earlier. The unit was spotlessly clean and tidy with lots of extras such as: sanitizer, bubble bath, delicious fresh diffusers, shampoo etc. We felt spoiled and special! The security is great and with all our animal visitors we had an unforgettable time at the Bush Hut.
The location of the Bush Hut within the eco estate is excellent. The facilities are very good and the tranquility of the surroundings invigorating.

The Bush Hut was fantastic. The cottage is well equipped, it is private, it is tidy and just a nice place to stay. Access was easy in the Wildlife Estate and it is super safe. The animals visit the garden regularly. We can recommend it with great confidence. Engela organized everything perfectly and it was a very good experience for us. Cute overnight house. Very well equipped, but a little dirty here and there. All we need here is a big tin of biscuits for the regular warthogs who come to visit every day - it's great fun. Beware they can bite. Keep your hands off and stay on the porch. Depending on our country's Eskom problems, overnight places can please put mini gas stoves in the kitchen. Thanks for the solar light ─ it works great. Thanks to the owner of the cottage for the use - I will most definitely book the cottage again.
The Bush Hut is a clean and tidy self-catering house that met all my expectations. I did find it somewhat inconvenient to use the braai because the top of the chimney is less than 1 meter from the thatched roof and it poses a fire hazard. Possibly the owner could consider building the chimney of the braai up to above the level of the thatched roof.
Clean and tidy accommodation. Wonderful to wake up in the forest and see the warthogs outside the window. Would recommend the place.
