The Olive and Vine Cottage is a well-equipped cottage that can accommodate up to 2 guests. The cottage comprises a bedroom that features a queen-size bed and a bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and washbasin. There is also a bath located outside the unit for an open-air bath experience.
The unit also comes equipped with an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The kitchen features a microwave, gas hob, Air-Fryer and fridge. The unit has an outside braai pit that guests can make use of.
From the cottage, guests have a view of the beautiful mountains that surround the Franschhoek Valley. There is a private entrance to the cottages and also a private outside area to relax in the sun or under an umbrella with a nice glass of wine from our local wineries.
Parking is available under old oak trees that are part of the beauty of this farm. There is also a little river running through the farm and you will have a peaceful experience under the huge willow trees next to the river. In the summertime, it might be a dry river bed, but during the winter season, which is the rainy season, there will be water running through.
This is a great location, situated close to popular landmarks including the Franschhoek Monument, world-renowned restaurants, the Franschhoek Wine Tram, Pearl Valley Golf course, Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, well-known wineries, and many more. There are very nice routes for cycling and hiking.

Unfortunately it was only 1 night, but most enjoyable. Every detail was attended to, and every kind of appliance was provided. Only one thing was lacking: a bench of sorts to place a suitcase or two on, and the place was a bit hard to find.
The cottage is stunning and very well equipped. Our hostess went out of her way to welcome us and make sure we had the load shedding schedule. The whole atmosphere and farm environment is more than worth it. 10 stars for this stay.

Being able to walk down to the center of Franschhoek was a tremendous advantage and allowed us to explore the town effortlessly. Knowing that we could simply knock on her door if we needed anything made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. Her hospitality added an extra layer of warmth to our stay. The highlight of our time at The Olive and Vine Cottage, without a doubt, was the breathtaking views. Every morning, we woke up to the awe-inspiring scenery that surrounded us. It was a visual treat that we will treasure in our memories. My only regret we have is that the weather was too chilly to take advantage of the charming outdoor bathtub. We can only imagine how delightful it would be on a warmer day. Franschhoek, as a destination, also exceeded our expectations. Very nice working farm. The house is old but very clean with enough decent electrical equipment and crockery with clean linen. I would highly recommend him if you want to relax and have all the shops within walking distance. The hostess is very professional and friendly.
Kitchen fully equipped. The surroundings with its beautiful mountains and fruit and vineyards make getting up in the morning special. The giant trees are a bonus in the garden. Ideal place to just go and relax.
The loveliest stay with indescribable views. The water pressure is just pathetic and you have to jump around in the shower to get wet. I'm sure a cheap pressure pump would be able to sort it out.

The host and hostess had our best interests and safety throughout our stay even though we had a flood in the Western Cape. Our challenges that we encountered turned out to be the highlights of our stay. The accommodation had everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. The host and hostess were fantastic people to have met. We even met Pigasso at the sanctuary on the adjoining farm.

This is a gem in Franschoek. The tranquility of the farm is what makes it so special. Excellent clean equipped residential unit with an incredibly beautiful view of the mountains and vineyards. Nice to walk around with the friendly dogs that accompany you. There are also two other accommodation options on the farm. Conveniently close to all the attractions in the town and surrounding area. But finally the unbelievably friendly reception with which you are received by Sophia.

Farm is a short distance from town which makes it very convenient, but also wonderfully peaceful and quiet if you want to quickly get away from the activities in town. Very nice stay.
We were in the area for a wedding, but will definitely have to come back for a relaxing stay. The cottage is stylish and very well equipped. With a large room, living room and kitchen, the weekend was just too short.

Highly recommend this beautiful renovated and decorated farm cottage. Everything one could possible need has been provided for and so much more! Ample room, comfy bed and furniture, excellent WiFi, plenty of backup options in the event of loadshedding, absolute silence at night (no traffic noise). Our only regret was only having two nights there and I hope one day we will be able to visit again. This is probably the nicest place we have ever stayed in when booking through the website.

Quaint and rustic which would not suit everyone but we were fine with it except the shower which needs an upgrade. Very restful atmosphere although the wedding up the road caused some traffic and music noise but no fault of owners. Lovely surroundings and I'm sure would usually be very peaceful. The weather helped!

Given the location of the cottage, being on the fringe of the town, we were able to walk to the majority of the open gardens participating in the Franschhoek Open Gardens weekend, which was great.
The cottage is thoroughly equipped with everything one could need, as if the owners themselves stayed there for a weekend to determine what is needed to make your stay carefree. The view of the vineyards and olive trees, the stream with the pig's ears and the mountains is breathtakingly beautiful and feels like you are in a park. Beautiful! Would we stay there again? We really enjoyed our stay at the Cabernet Cottage. The place's peaceful location among vineyards and olive groves was exactly what we were hoping for, yet it was central enough to easily get to everything in Franschhoek. The house looks quite rustic from the outside but was neatly and cutely equipped on the inside and we had everything we needed, even with WiFi access even though we were hidden on a farm. We had a lovely walk on the farm, together with the very friendly dogs.

The Cottage is on a working farm with one of the most beautiful views while enjoying a glass of wine, but is also close to all the tourist attractions making it easy to explore the area. Wonderful cottage in the wine country nature. Sophia and Danie are fantastic hosts. The cottage has everything you need and more, e.g. coffee for that first morning's wake up, firewood and lighters, microwave oven, gas stove, good and clean linen, etc.
The stay here was enjoyable and pleasant. The beautiful surroundings where the guest house is located make the stay that much more enjoyable.
There was just a bit of noise when we got there - some kind of function in a place next door. Can imagine that it can get quite hot in the summer - would recommend an air conditioner. We had a good time, except for the midges - at least they had a peaceful sleep - maybe put something outside that lures the midges away. Furthermore, it was very peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful.

The Cabernet Cottage is everything a city person could wish for. It is small but very intimate, simple but special, it looks like an ordinary tin house from the outside but inside it is exquisitely decorated, warm and cosy. The Dover stove in which you can make a fire kept us warm on a cold, rainy evening. The bed is nice and big and we felt like a king and queen. The farm is breathtakingly beautiful with blossoms on the plum trees and beautiful olive trees and a babbling brook with beautiful pig's ears (which just grow wild) on our front porch. Closer to Heaven (paradise) an earthly person cannot come! Thank you Danie and Sophia for an unforgettable experience!

The cottage where we stayed is beautiful and full of character. It was very clean and tidy and the owners also provided milk and coffee which was wonderful. There is a braai area should this be necessary and we will definitely stay there again. The bed and bedding were of good quality and we slept wonderfully. It offers a farm atmosphere with a beautiful view and our vehicle could stand near the house. We had to get used to the geyser which is gas operated, but quickly figured it out. Really an affordable, cute place.
The cottage is small but has most things you need, including a very comfy bed. It's more rustic than luxurious but the owners are always on hand and were brilliant at topping up the firewood every day.

Everything you need. We really enjoyed the grass and big trees. Completely private, very peaceful and quiet. It was an experience for our soul. Load capacity was no problem, gas stove and enough candles.

We who flew from Pretoria to Cape Town did not need to take anything extra with us. So nice to experience the tranquility and peace on the farm, even though they were busy with their normal farming activities, it didn't bother us at all. What we got was beyond our expectations of what we expected from a guest house. Our time there was very pleasant and will definitely stay there again in the future.

Lovely stay. Sorry to have missed Sophia, but she was very proactive in keeping contact and making arrangements. Very special with all the little extras: rusks and milk and tea/coffee and sugar - thank you. I suggest looking at the shower head - that pressure and nozzle is not easy to wash long hair with (understand water restrictions). Bed is a spring-type. Not so great for a bad back and wriggly husband.
